Foundry Level Goes Dark on 360
On the level where you're to disrupt the operations of a steel plant (Nazran Foundry), the screen goes dark.  You can still see the picture, but it's like the brightness is turned way way down.  It's virtually unplayable.  The screen is normal right up until the mission begins.  Anyone else experiencing this?

When I play Nazran Town, it's darker than usual for about half the level and then all of a sudden it brightens up.  And it's frozen with looping sound twice now on that level.

I know the solution to the darkness of the screen.  It is a glitch in the BC code though, so don't worry.  All you do is restart the level.  It loads back in and hopefully everything is back to the normal light level.  The looping sounds has froze my 360 once.  I do find if the music starts looping it is best to turn the music off in the game via the menu options.  Otherwise I think this is an excellent BC game.  Almost puts some 360 games to graphical shame.

How were you able to make through the first half?  When the enemies aren't right up my face, I can't see them.  And I definitely can't see the path to take.

I've restarted the mission a number of times and the problem still exists.

It wasn't that dark.  Not as bad as your problem I guess.

I am on the Bridge level now, getting the same problem as in the earlier level.  Actually seems to happen randomly when first starting a level.  Also I got one of the guide screens that takes you back to the dashboard go very bright in color, almost like the contrast was set way to max!  For sure a problem with the contrast in this game with the BC patch.  Also for some reason I think the mic talking for the character is very echo sounding,  Maybe not a natural thing in the XBOX original machine?

I just got to the Foundry and I had the same problem, came here to see if anyone else had it and lo-and-behold. I guess some games aren't ready for the 360. If there is a fix for this it better be before I get antsy and play it on the regular X-Box.

I'll play Tomb Raider on hard till then.

Re: Foundry Level Goes Dark on 360

Yup I had it as well, was OK the first time I tried the Foundary level, got killed, tried again and it went way dark, but yes if you make the brightness higher at the start its playable.

Great game.................. if rather linear, no jumping, erratic and not that intelligent AI and of course no live.

This would be a great live game if set up similar to H2 or PD0.

Nearly 40 games and counting.........

I had the same problem and found a fix if it keeps loading too dark. Exit the level to the main menu, push the guide button and press Y. Move up to yes but don't exit, the blade should have got a lot brighter. Exit the guide and the screen should have got brighter. Re-load the level and it should be normal contrast.

Re: Foundry Level Goes Dark on 360

I'm having the same problem a month from the last post.  Any chance anyone is doing anything about this?  I've tried changing brightness to max and its still so dark on this level that its unplayable...and I've restarted a level earlier and worked my way back and its still doing it....Not sure if its worth continuing to play if its going to be like this these rest of the game.  A shame because its pretty fun and definitely a good looking game.....

thanks

Sad [:(]

This happened to me on the same levels and I found a way to fix it by going back to the first level and after it loads quit. Now go back to the level you were on and the brightness problem should be fixed.  Worked every time for me.  Hope this helpsSmile [:)]

Re: Foundry Level Goes Dark on 360
I've had both these problems multiple times before, to varying degrees. There are times when the sound loops have been solved by thowing a grenade and standing close enough to hear the blast, but other times where it has eventualy frozen my console after collecting a massive amount of different sounds like a game of auditory Katamari Damacy.

As for the screen going dark, I've noticed it has Four distinct levels - really, Really dark(Impossible to play), Medium dark(Playable, usualy solves itself halfway into the mission), Normal(Its well, normal.), And OH LORD MY EYES kind of bright(Makes it hard to play, because you can barely see the enemy through the constant blaze of light.

Only thing for it I've found is just to drop back to dashboard and Restart. Irritating? Yes, but unfortunately nothing else for it.

go back to the main screen. Where it says options, > picture options. Turn the brightness all the way up. That should fix your problem for the most part.

Man, I thought I was the only one suffering this fate... I guess not
I thought it was just part of the level, so I played it normal and got frustrated coz I couldnt get far plus I lost my non-dying streak in the game... Anywayz, I have no idea what happened to my 360, just suddenly when fine after awhile

Once you experience the darkness, all you have to do is quit and start an earlier level where the problem did not exist.  Then quit and begin the Foundry level once again.  Problem fixed.

Re: Foundry Level Goes Dark on 360

I managed to find a fix for this!

I havent played this game for AGES because of this bug... but I thought I'd give it another go recently as I really wanna play the game. So I fired it up... loaded my old save and it was still in darkness.

I quite right back to the beginning of the game, checked the brightness in the display options and y'know what, it was right down on the darkest setting.

I changed it to somewhere in the middle... saved my profile... re-loaded my save game and it was fine. And has been fine since, which is great! Cnt wait for a Next Gen Black!

Quit the mission and select the mission from the list and then it will clear up, see what happens is that the 360 doesn load all the mission. and one problem i  have is when it goes all dark i find my guy stuck walking in one place.
