Re: How to find a full 65nm Jasper console…
I finally found a Jasper in the Montreal Region (on the south shore),  Found a pro bundle at Wal-Mart in Saint-Bruno at lot #847

Lot #847
12.1a
150psu

Very very happy. This is my first 360. Futureshop currently has some sales for some 360 games at 9.99$ so I picked up Mass Effect and Dead Space :)

I got my Jasper by looking for the 12.1A rating on the back near the barcode.....I'm sure it's Jasper cause it came with a 150W power supply.

Re: How to find a full 65nm Jasper console…

As some of you know, my 3rd xbox360 died about 3-4 weeks ago. Usually its the 3 RROD but this time it was some graphical failure. I had audio but no video.    So I called Microsoft and just told them I have the 3 RROD.  Same as I do with any other problem.

So yesterday the UPS truck arrives with the 360.  I was anxious to see if they even fixed it at all since it didnt have RROD at all. My old one was 07 model.   So we open the box and to my surprise the sticker sais 6/4/09!!! June 4th 09. A brand new 360 only a couple weeks old.........so I thought. I smell the 360 and notice it even smells brand new.   But I look at the faceplate and it is very dirty.  Ours is always very very clean. I also notice some of the edges have pry marks where the 360 has been disassembled. Then I notice no HDMI port at all. Which isnt a problem because I use HD component cables anyway but it confirms that quite a few of the components are old.  Even the power plug port is for an older 360.

So my conclusion is that the case and power supply are from an older 360 but some of the internal parts are brand new.  It even has the new fans on the back. It is very very quite and runs very cool like a new 360.  Basically a frankenstein 360. lol     It will be interresting to see how long this 360 lasts. I will also be installing every single game so I am hoping this 4th 360 could possibly last at least 8 months to a year.   Big Smile [:D]

Re: How to find a full 65nm Jasper console…
Check the label again-I bet it says "service date" instead of manufacture date. What is the amperage rating on that same label? That will tell you what revision of board is in the housing.

And FYI, my repaired 360 is just as noisy and puts out as much heat as it always did....

Have a look at the LOT number on the side. If it looks promising ask the store to have a look in the box, they might let you.

It was LOT number 0846x and I didn't really want to deal with asking about it because it wasn't that big of a deal for me. My old 360 stopped outputting video and it was no longer under warranty being 2 1/2 years old so I figured I might as well just get a new system for the HDMI and the larger HDD.

I knew to look at the LOT number like said in the first post and the team was FDOU so I figured it had a good chance of being a Jasper but I wasn't sure because I could not see if it had the 12.1a.

I went through every xbox at the best buy here in town looking for a jasper. My cousin recently purchased a 60GB Jasper from the same store. Found a xbox that had a lot number of  0846x and a Manufacture date of 11/14/2008 got it home and found out it wasnt  a jasper.

Re: How to find a full 65nm Jasper console…
The 846x LOT number signified a damn busy time for the FDOU factory. I have seen hundreds of them all over in the Elite SKU, none were Jasper. If you picked up and 846x Arcade though it would likely be one. I'm surprised the Pro wasn't, I seem to remember that some have been seen with a lower LOT number (purely anecdotal on my part). The hard drive and extra leads mean that it is much harder to see the Amp rating on Elites and Pros. With Arcades it is very easy as the console can move a little in the box.

Here's an intresting story for you guys... about a week and a half ago i guess my xbox got the RRoD. I sent it in and its currently on its way back to me. Im pretty positive i have a falcon mother board. My console is an elite bundle. I was looking at the sticker on the box today and i noticed that there were two stickers on it. One covering the other one. Using alittle bit of water and slowly pulling the top one off revealed something interesting to me. Here are some of the specs on the first sticker. Xbox 360 Elite Bundle Made in China PO 60XXXXXX Line C-4 W0 = 2719112671 I personally think this is the most interesting... TEAM - TMEM Heres some on the Second Sticker which was being covered by the first sticker. Xbox 360 Elite Bundle 100~ 127Vac, 5A, 47-63Hz, 203W Made in China WO = 54J551013L2 <----- ???? why would this change And finally the two most intersting on this sticker are.... LOT NO: 0742 (With a barcode) TEAM - CSON Anyone else find this alittle odd? or am i just looking at something that doesnt matter at all?

I think Team TMEM is a repackaging/repair team. The team CSON is a console manufacturing team just like FDOU. The Teams FDON and ASHA do the peripherals (wireless network adapter, component cables, joypads etc). The 203W suggests that at some point the insides of your box were either Zephyr or Xenon (you will know if you look to see if there is a HDMI port on the back). If it has been repaired then I don't know what they have put inside.

This is correct. TMEM repackages consoles when there are bundles. The Elite is a CSON Elite from lot 0742.

No, absolutely not. Your best bet is to send a note with the console. I recommend something like "Please replace! (With most recent refurbs if possible.)" Write the same in Spanish for extra points.

Re: How to find a full 65nm Jasper console…
I just wanted to post about my recent purchase of a new XBOX 360.  I bought an original 20GB model on release day in 11/05 and have had to send it in to XBOX twice to fix the RROD, and then last night I got it again a third time.  Finally it died out of warranty, and I was forced to go looking for a new one.

I decided on an Arcade model as I really wanted a Jasper and the smaller chipset, plus I upgraded to a 60GB  harddrive when you could start to install games on the hard drive (which I highly recommend to everyone, it runs about 20 times quieter when playing a game).  So I already have everything I need, just a console that works.  Plus I own every game that is currently offered in all bundles (except RE5) and really don't need a bigger harddrive.  The only thing I am losing by not spending the extra 100-200 dollars, is the backwards compatability for some old XBOX games, but I can't really remember the last time I played Halo 2.  It also has an HDMI output.

I also spent a few minutes online doing some research about how to spot a Jasper without opening each box.  Thanks XBOX.com forum!

I went to Best Buy and they were sold out of all Elite models, which I was suprised about, but I did see 3 different arcade models and a handful of Pro models.  I poked my finger in the serial number opening of each box to see which one were or were not a Jasper.  One of the arcade models with the Sega Tennis 6 game bundle was not a Jasper (or should I say had a 14.2 Amps in stead of the 12.1 Amps for the Jasper models), and one was - the one that I ended up buying.  They also had a few of the bundles with a big logo of Uno and the other 5 games that you get in the box that were not Jaspers.  Finally one of the plain arcade models without any flashy games advertised on the box was a Jasper.  Sadly, all of the Pro 60GB models were NOT jaspers.  So I got an arcade for $199 or so and then opened it up at home, and found out it had the 150 W power brick and the Jasper appearing power plug port as well.

All things said, I am excited to see how long this lasts and how much quiter it runs.  I'm excited to hook up my hard drive and get back to gaming...

Are you sure it came with an external memory card (ignore what it says on the box, some are old boxes)? Have a look inside, if you can't find the memory in the box then it is highly likely that you have a Jasper. Go into system settings and look in memory. If it shows the 256 or 512 on board memory then youdo indeed have a Jasper. As a double check, flip the console around and check the rating, if it says 12.1 give yourself a pat on the back as you have struck Jasper gold.

Happy gaming.
