I want both the 1st and 2nd Shenmue games available on Xbox Live too (and in wide screen if possible).  They should have released both games in one pack on Xbox to maximise sales as not many people not familiar with the series would buy part of the story that's not the beginning.  The series would have done a *** of a lot better if it went multi-platform from the get go.  They should make both games available to download for the PS3 and Wii as well if money is the issue.  If they do this then the demand for Shenmue 3 may be big enough from a financial perspective to develop.

Microsoft, we want Shenmue (Arcade), Shenmue 2 (Xbox Originals) and Shenmue 3 (XBOX360)!

As a true Mac User, I feel I have another reason for Microsoft to once again let me down:
My Xbox 360 dies (along many others) plus, there IS no Shenmue 3 yet.

(that would be two reasons, sorry)

Maybe they should release Shenmue 3 on the Mac. (There's rumor they are hiring game developers and producers at the Apple camp) If they had such success with the Iphone/Ipod?Itunes, gaming console can certainly be a huge success!!!

Never lose hope JuicedAlberto. I like many expect things to happen. It might take a while but anything's possible. I never hoped for OutRun to have a sequel. 18 years later OutRun 2 was released. We are talking about the same developer house (AM2). I believe there are legal issues surrounding Shenmue Online and therefore Shenmue 3 cannot take place until they solve it. Another negative is, the attitude Sega has taken against the project after they spent 70 million and I believe they earned like 50 million only (if they sold it for $50.00 per copy they sold about 1.5 million copies and that's more than any other Dreamcast title). Still the hype Shenmue 2 has raised must have some repercussions among the top levels of Sega's offices. Yu Suzuki said once that they are aware of the strong following success and the growing fanbase the Shenmue series has. But then he said there are no concrete plans to developed and that the game could be ported to whatever console. I just hope they are secretly meeting and arranging funds for the whole saga to be ported (preferrably to 360) NextGen Consoles. He also reassured his desire to be able to direct (and finish the project).

Project Berkeley (aka Shenmue) started as a Virtua Fighter spin-off in 1994 and began development for Sega Saturn, but was too complex to program. They waited until 1999 for the new console, the Dreamcast, to port the game with better graphics and easier programming. They have being working nearly 15 years on the project and having being Suzuki's Grand Opus I don't believe they are going to shelve it forever. I know this game holds a very special place in Suzuki's heart like Outrun (being one of his first games) did. I doubt he will live his Masterpiece incomplete.

I know it takes time to pick games and re program them for XBOX Originals, so the games coming out right now are ones they probably planned before the the launch of the service.  But at least let us know ASAP if Shenmue II gets added to the future release list :P

Soul Calibur from the Dreamcast is coming to XBLA! This means that a DC game is being ported to the 360!

This just rasies the potential for Shenmue 1 to come to 360!

I really think that Shenmue 3 is coming on this generation of console.The problem is that now there is a small userbase on the playstation 3 and xbox 360.  There's 11 million user on the PS3 now that's too little. releasing shenmue 3 on the playstation 3 now would be a bad move. and the xbox 360 doesn't even have a million user in japan. so releasing shenmue 3 on then 360 is another bad move. The 360 has 18 million user now. by the end of 2009 it could have around 30 million user and the PS3 should have 30 million user. That's a good time to release shenmue 3. It would sell much better if they release it by then and not now. I really would like to see shenmue 3 on the playstation 3 and the 360 not the wii.

just played through shenmue 2 again.. man, such a great game.. with the greatest cliffhanger in videogame history ! it cant end like this. microsoft, do something about it. u have the (financial-)power to make it happen.

I know there are few (???) xbox360 users on Japan. But I consider the huge and strong fanbase the Shenmue Series has and it has grown considerably. I myself consider Shenmue the best game story so far. Even more than DevilMayCry. Though Devil has impressive current-gen graphics, I just can't help but wonder i Shenmue is (covertly) being given the VirtuaFighter 5 treatment. I have no problem with Shenmue fans being scattered on the PS3 or even the Wii. This is positive news, the message is clear: release Shenmue in multi-platform format: problem solved. Give the 360 the exclusive (6 months in advance) and announce it for the others. I mean, I bought the 360 solely for the hope of Shenmue 3...

I know there are others like me (who haven't decided on which system to buy) until the release of Shenmue 3. But I went far and bought the 360 just to play Shenmue 2 (in english) hoping the release of Shenmue 3.

Let's just hope for the best.

yesss! SHENMUE 1 & 2 for the 360 wudd be the best thing ever!! get Shenmue some hype & let people play it so they can know what they have been missing out on .. Shenmue 1 & 2 are the greatest games ever .. we NEED Shenmue III!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah bring Shenmue to XBLA. and shenmue 2 to the originals. are you listening microsoft. We want anything related to shenmue on the marketplace god damn it.! lol I would download anything that is shenmue.

If Shenmue I and II were released on the 360 with plans for a part III, I would go out and actually buy a 360.

With this news of another Dreamcast game coming to XBLA, I hope that means that the original Shenmue could also be ported. I'd definetly buy it!!

Shenmue is one of the best games I have ever played. I would like to play through 1&2 on XBLA, but would rather see 3 being made. I played through 1 about 5 years ago, and 2 I beat last year. I would like nothing more than Shenmue 1 being a download, then a month later 2, and then another month later 3 is realesed. Ahhh dreams... hopes and dreams. 

I've even went to japan last year for a real pleasure holiday and went to see all the places Shenmue was set off!!
