Custom Designs
I was just creating some good designs there and had recently read of people transfering designns onto cars other than the one they originated on via the design catalogue. However, when i tried this with a design on a lambo to be transfered onto my pimping golf gti it said no desiogns found for this car. What THE JOHNNNNN? (ie what do i do to transfer designs from one car to anothre or is this impossible (johnpossible)?

Appreciated :)

Re: Custom Paint Job Question
Hey guys! I have a question about the paint shop. I've got this design that I want to put onto a different car, so I save my design in the 'Design Catalogue', but when I take my other car their, it keeps saying there is no design for this car. Does that mean if I create a design 'say' on a Ferrari F40, I can only apply that design onto another F40?

Re: Custom Designs
Yeah! I'd like to know this too. I've created some cool logos that I would like to copy onto other cars. But when I save my design into the catalogue, it says NO DESIGN FOR THIS CAR.

You need to save the "vinyls" that you want to move to another car as a "vinyl group" and then you can put it on any car you want,  I beileve is how it works.

Oh thanks! you're right, you simply highlight all the layers you used, then save them as a vinyl group which you can then later load onto another car.

Thanks for pointing in the right direction...haha!!!

that's all eh.   Huh, I remember reading somewhere that said when you group the vinylls together is would turn them into a single vinyll/layer instead so it would be easier to manipulate.   Ah well.   It's all good.  So far, I havn't made much (a spiderman car).  I'll probably try putting up some of my own creations over the next while, maybe try auctioning them off.

Just keep in mind that not all "decals" fit all cars even in that manner. You'll have to resize stuff sometimes. Like say you designed something on a mini and wanted it on an Enzo...two different body shapes...so you'll have to resize.

That's why when you save to a catalog it's only for that particular car. Any other car will only result in an "Sorry no design for this car" message (or some such message).

Save them as a "vinyl group" and you can move and apply them as one vinyl and resize the whole thing at one time.

"Save them as a "vinyl group" and you can move and apply them as one vinyl and resize the whole thing at one time."

You can accomplish the same if you highlight the layers you want to resize or reposition, saving as a vinyl group just gives you the flexibility/ability to call up the desired layers at any time or during another session.

Why can't people figure this out on their own, I did.  Just play around with it, go through all the options etc.

But there is one thing I can't figure out.  On my vynal group when the size is at .07 it covers the whole car.  Is there a way to make it to where when size hits 2.00 it covers the whole caR?

Halo 3 car (question)
Hey I am designing a Halo 3 car, but I was too busy to really start it today, so I got some place holders going. The actual design will (hopefully) look like the way bungie writes Halo 3 not just text so keep that in mind. Anyways just wondering what you guys think I should do to make it better (obviously as stated most the things are just quick place holders). Should I try and do a Master Chief on the side or do you think it would look cool as is (I personally like the more simple looking cars). Pictures of it currently in sig.

Edit: Sorry for putting it in the wrong spot.
I haven't been here in a while...

This is how to mirror a layer on the roof!!!
Alright everybody, I've been searching these forums since I tried painting my first car and realized that although you can copy a design from the right side of a car to the left or vise versa, but you can't mirror or invert a layer of vinyl on the roof/hood when you what the top to be symmetrical (sp?). I tried shrinking the size down to -1.00 but that did not work, but my new way works. But last night (how to mirror a design on the roof) it came to me out of the clear blue when I wasn't even thinking about Forza, I looked again before I posted this and still didn't not find a solution for this problem. So for all of you out there that have been aggrevated by the fact you can't just hit a button to flip it, here is the solution (as overly complicated as it is).

1. Take the design you want mirrored and stamp it on the left side of the car.
2. Go to the right side of the car and insert from left/right, so the game will automatically mirror the vinyl.
3. Copy/cut it and then stamp it on the roof on the left half of the car (or the right if you want the designs to face away instead of towards).
4. Lastly, just stamp the original layer from the vinyl selection screen on the right half of the roof, and bingo, its symmestrical. Then just delete any unwanted or excess layers on the sides of the car (right side most likely).

You cannot upload images to the game for use in the paint shop. All the designs you see are created using the various shapes, shading & layering techniques that are available in the game.

How?

How do people make these paint jobs on their cars? Do they do it all in the game with an Xbox 360 controller or do they make it on their computer and transfer it into the game? Seems like it would be really hard to do with a controller. I've never played Forza or Forza 2 so I don't know how it's done. Just curious is all.

Re: How?
it's done by circles and squares and all the other shapes in the game. A grueling process if you ask me. i don't have the patience to do things like that, i have to complete it in one sitting (an hour at most) and some of them apparently take up to and over 10 hours! No computer work here, all with the standard 360 controller. Also there is no importing images over either so if you see something that looks good, a guy/girl worked bloody hard on it :D

Re: How?
i believe it's all done with the pad as your can't import pics to 360. But some of the car designs looks like the user has hacked forza. fairplay to anyone who does these amazing designs as they are quite simply mind-blowing.

Too true.  I have the artistic talent of a colour-blind hedgehog in a bag so I have nothing but respect for the people who can create these amazing designs.  My best efforts to date have consisted of some stripes and a few decals, although I might attempt to give this a whirl when I have some spare time, but start with something simple methinks.

Question about painting in FORZA 2
I am having a problem with painting a car.  I made a vinyl group of flames and when I apply it to the car its not staying the same on the left as on the right because they flip it to match and the flipping makes it not match from left to right. So can I make it not flip when I load a vinyl group ?
