Re: Motion Sickness topic
I finally found something that worked to stop my motion sickness while playing this game. All I did was turn my controller sensitivity all the way down, and that at least allowed me to play semi-comfortably.

I don't want to set the world on fire...Or maybe I do...

I did that and it now i can play for 15 minutes before getting sick instead of 5.  I also turned the camera bob on.  I dunno, i can wait around for an update but if nothing comes out to fix me, ill just have to delete it.

i cant complain about the game itself though, wish i could stick around longer to finish it and do some MP.  but these headaches are killing me.

Re: Motion Sickness topic

I played this game the other day and I also started to feel sick and also started to get a headache from the moment I started playing it. At first I thought it might be because I was tired. But Thursday my friend came around and decided to play it. He started playing and guess what, he started to feel sick, and I also started to get a headache.

I was on bungie.net when I saw info about Marathon and it made me wonder if anyone else had the same problem, looks like some do.

By the way I have been playing all sorts of games all my life, normally for long periods of time and I have never once felt ill while playing a game except for if I have a Migraine. When my friend played this game I never mentioned that this game made me ill, so it's not in our heads. There does seem to be something wrong with this game.

I would like to add I am only 19, so its not only older people, I have a SD TV so its not only HD TV's and I live in the UK so its not only the American frequencies.

I really don't know what the problem with this game is as most games are now 60hz only and they don't make me feel sick. It is almost like there is something on the screen that we can't see like a subliminal message sort of thing (I am not accusing anyone about a subliminal message but I am trying to explain what I mean).

I haven’t tried the camera bob and sensitivity yet so I will have to try that to see what effect it has.

Bungie is already aware of this. It was an issue for some when the game first came out. They said that they will be putting a message on the Marketplace about precautions to take to avoid motion sickness...

Re: Motion Sickness topic

Downloaded the demo, played it for about 5-10 minutes enjoyed it, good game. Then I couldn't find where to go after I killed everything so was walking around aimlessly and then it started to give me a headache and made me feel dizzy. Not nauseous though....stopped haven't played on it since. Glad I didn't splash out the 800points.

Shame looks like a good game. But there are plenty of other games to play anyway, ones that don't make me feel ill. A tip here people if playing a game makes you feel ill its your body reacting to something which is not good for you, you should stop and discontinue use. Seriously this game could give someone an epileptic fit.

This was not an issue with the original game; it is specifically a problem with the 360 version. Hopefully today's update fixes it. And hopefully Hippieman will apologize for his 'placebo' comment....this was clearly a very real problem.

Re: Motion Sickness topic
they just added a classic view angle.  i just ate dinner and i am afraid to try it out for fear of another attack.  maybe a braver man can give it a try and see if it is any better.

I see you've played it, has it been fixed?

Re: Motion Sickness topic

Prior to the update, 2 of my friends played it, and neither of them felt sick while playing it. Never made me sick before the update, and still doesn't afterwards.

Maybe the fact that I've been a Descent fan since the mid-90s helped a bit...

I have been a fan for a long time as well, but I still got sick. I need to get the update and see if I still get a headache. I will get back to you guys.

Fixed, no.  Better, yes.  But guess what, I deleted it.  Too bad I had to get rid of a game for this.  This is still and awesome game so don't think of my deleting as a bad review.  I think its free to download for the PC so if you guys get sick you can always get the original.  You won't get any of the hi-res stuff though since they reworked the entire game.

There are hi-res textures available for the PC version (all 3). They're not included by default though.

Re: Motion Sickness topic
I had a bit of motion sickness (or rather, I could see why someone would) when I played the trial. Then, after I downloaded the full thing and started playing, it felt absolutely fine.

I doubt I would have had motion sickness in any case, though.
