Re: Complete Backyard Guide

The immortal was PISSING ME OFF with divide!

so I straight killed him. Never used reversa. What i found useful was:

The critical boost skills

3 combo

all immortals (duh) mortals seemed useless for more than one cheap move in the beginning, and reviving them is a waste of a turn

All-powerus

Faster (on the combat immortals mortals using 3 combo)

and gamble, when it got down to the wire and i didn't know how much health i would have left by the time i got reversa off.

My immortals were all around 80 and i finshed him with Kaim and Sarah left standing, both critical. one more shodowus and i was toast, unless i was lucky enough to absorb it.

Re: Complete Backyard Guide

Same happened to me last night, except I was left with Sarah and Ming. I finally started using Seth and Kaim to physically attack him, then Sarah to cast divide (she was fully healed for some reason, lol). He cubed, Sarah cast divide, and he was dead. To be honest, I didn't realize he was that close to being dead. I thought I was toast! I was also surprised to learn I had beat it within 30 rounds. Question: once you have your 30 slots filled up for all immortals, what do you do with the extra slot seeds?

All enemies must self-destruct by the second turn.

Use All Flara + Casting Support to garantee success.

Lol, I finished that without even knowing how to get three starts.

Instead of using casting support, just get them both to all [whatever the strongest enemy is weak to]. They'll both cast them by the end of the second turn, everything dies, you're laughing.

At least, I think that's what I did...

Just need to finish Money Fever and Ring Master, then the Immortal. I've never had trouble poisoning the dog, it's happened every time I've even hit a good on it.

Re: Complete Backyard Guide
Finally beat the ring master last night. Once i knew i could use more than just Kaim, it became a LOT easier. My team was: Front row - Kaim, Sed, and Seth, and Sarah and Ming in the back. Sed didn't last too long of course but the other four eventually smacked that guy down. Just the Immortal to go, and he's an even bigger pain in the neck than the Ring Master. I spent an hour whittling him down last night, took over 100,000 HP of damage off him before he cubed, shadowus, shadowus combo'd me all in one turn. A few choice words were spoken after that, let me tell you. Incidentally, how do i get information about the immortal from the guy with the backyard journals? All he tells me is 'he can't leak those secrets yet'.
Why does everyone lapse into insanity when they talk to me?

Clarification On Super Heavy Class Money fight for three stars

This fight has vexed me since from reading the posts here I'm still not clear on what must be done to get the third star. There is mention of getting 10 "heads" coin tosses from one poster here which sounds like he means 10 successful such coin tosses. This seems hard since it's just luck and it seems like the tosses are weighted against successful ones. Or is it just 10 coin tosses needing only three or more successful ones like the prompts before the battle physically starts say? But that same pre-battle prompt also says that you should try to win more coin tosses than you lose.

Can someone more succintly put all of this together for clear instructions as to the conditions that need to be fulfilled to get the third star in this battle?

Also another poster here said that used the skill "slot hit" guarentees a successful coin toss. I do not see a skill called "slot hit"--does he mean "skill hit"? If so I used this skill and while it seemed to usually generate a coin toss it did not by any means guarentee a successful one. Could this also be clarified? No criticism intended here just realizing that non-English versions of the game might have different wording.

Thanks to all who reply.

No, there is a skill called slot him, although i am not sure where i found it, and every time it is used, the money will counter with coin toss, which will be successful every time.

Okay then it seems that you must get 10 such successful coin tosses--is that correct or is it three or more as long as it's more than the failed coin tosses?

I don't think there's a correlation between location a Magic Lock Key is obtained from and class it will unlock. I unlocked Heavy a few days ago with the key from ToE. Prior to that I'd unlocked Medium (or is it Middle?) with key from ancient ruins. This evening I found the key in Gongora's secret cave. It unlocked Super class for me. So I'm thinking first key you find and bring to backyard (irrespective of origin) unlocks Medium, second unlocks Heavy, third unlocks Super ...

You must defeat the Immortal once for two additional stars and then I believe you get the papers and then must fulfill the conditions to gain the 60th star.

Don't you need this white book first to access the immortal fight ? Because if you get the book after beating him, fot what it is used after the fight ??

I believe the White Book tells you only (once given to that dude near the cage) what you must do to get a third star against the Immortal. But I believe you must defeat him first in order to get that book. You basically have to beat the Immortal in I think it's 30 rounds or less in order to get the third star.

UPDATE:

Super Class: Rings

You have to kill both the pooch and the soldier. Be sure to have a party of 5 and pull off deadly poison on the dog by landing a "perfect" with a ring with Deadly Posion LV3+ on it. Then start beating the guard to death. I highly reccument the skills i list below for the immortal battle.

I have problems using the recommended strategy. This is how I improvised. I used Seth and Kaim (equip with Poison Ring). Seth attacks the guard and Kaim attacks the dog. I will try my best to land the exact ring hit requirement for Seth but I will continue to hit the dog with Kaim. The tactic is to keep atleast 1 immortal alive long enough for the other to revive.

Take note that if you land enough accurate ring hit requirements (i.e. bad, good, perfect), the guard will go away. If you keep missing, he will grow impatient and cast Annihilation to kill everyone. Both scenarios will cause us to fail the secret requirement.

All you need to do is hit the dog once with poison or toxin and just defend with everyone. Until the dog dies. When the dog dies just start whaling on the soldier. That is by fat the easiest method.

Yes that's what I've done. I have now completed the Backyard. Time for me to find the last 10 items missing, to get the immortals achievements.

There are three keys...and you don't need them in any particular order.

1)  Gongora's basement
2)  Ancient Ruins
3)  Temple of Enlightenment (Beat the Fu guy)

Super Class: Money Money

Another way to get 10 successful coin tosses is to use the skill "Slot Hit" each time you hit an enemy with it they will return a successful coin toss. Equip two or more of your characters with Slot Hit and you'll get hit successful coin tosses in no time.

What level does everyone recommend your characters being at before battling the immortal.  i have tried 3 times, getting him down to about 40,000 each time using double cast Divide/Reversa/Gamble/Zephryus, then the little terd hits with me with that stupid cube and then divide and game over.

right now

Kaim 72
Seth 72
Sarah 63
Ming 62
Sed 59   (he dies pretty much right away, mortals seem useless in this battle)

This is the last skill I need before progressing with the story in grand staff.

I beat the immortal with characters your level (it was very long and hard), but not under 30 turns.  I'm around 90 now, so I'm going to go back and see if I can get it done under 30.

Re: Complete Backyard Guide
If you fight only the Hellish Kellolons inside the ToE and Turn Tail on the other battles(because they are pretty much useless) you can reach level 99 in no time. Have Sed(he has Double SP skill) in your party and the Black Cave is a good place to earn SP in order to teach your immortals skills really fast although this can take a bit longer. By now you should be good on cash so make a pit stop by the Kellolon Village to buy Heal Full, Mana Prime and Goddess Medicine potions. Now go face the Immortal and he won't stand a chance against the rain of Divide spells going his way. You'll be hitiing it with four 9999 and four 9720 every two turns. Sed can trow potions to keep everyone healthy. Oh and you'll need Ailment Resistance, Level 8 Black & White Magic, Double Cast, Elemental Immunities(four of them), Persistance and the other luck based nulifiers(Absorb Attack, Absorb magic, Lucky 0 Damage.....etc.). The more abilities you have the better off you'll be. Do all that and the Immortal won't stand a chance against you. It'll be like beating him with your hands tied behind your back.

Re: Complete Backyard Guide
Quick question, pardon the ignorance but the 3rd magic key I
need to enter into the super heavy class you said is located in
a "sacred temple/chamber" , I defeated the boss in the ToE
last night, was going to do this before heading to grandstff
for the last time,  Obviously I have missed something or
someone somehwhere? The "ghost of the ancient ruins"
was the boss of ToE and the magic key I got in there
allowed me to enter the "heavy" which I did, so thats
where im at , any info on this sacred boss I must have]
missed is appreciated.
