The most frustrating thing for me on this is it's bad enough that they are having problems, but to put some lame b.s. excuse up on their website and to send me an e-mail telling me that it will "unlock" eventually in the game when it so obviously will not is just wrong.

This message actually indicates that your code was successfully entered, not in reference to the number of weapons unlocked. Your submachine gun will be available in your primary weapons cache, but SAL-86 will be located in your “special weapons” section. Check back often to your weapons list for availability.

Well from what i've heard thru several ppl is that the codes do in fact unlock two guns it all depends on the code. I only unlocked the SMG but a friend of mine got both guns with only one code. So for some reason some of the codes work to unlock only the SMG and numerous ppl have already gotten all the achievements and beaten the game 10times over have not seen there elusive exclusive sniper rifle. so i can only hope they release a patch to unlock the sniper for those who only have the SMG.

It is a different code for each card. I suggest heading to you local game store and see if they have any extras, as the preorder is done with, and they'll just toss them after a while. I picked up a few for myself and friends. yesterday and today.

Same thing happen with Burnout Paradise with the GameStop exclusive car which is already in the game and all you needed was the cheat code to unlock it.

Thats lame.  Why would they hold extra content from us that didnt buy from game stop pre-order?  There doing same crap with Rainbow 6 Vegas 2.  You get the gamebattles MLG convention map free.   Thats bull crap I think.  Why pre order games?  Games are a dime a dozen made for all stores.  Only thing I see worth pre order is a new gaming system on launch day.

Well I forwarded EA's response to Gamestop customer service and this is what I got back:

 

Dear Joe,

Thank you for including the response from EA concerning this issue.  I
have forwarded it on to our Marketing team.

Unfortunately the wording on e-mails offering the code and the Rave
cards were all manufactured by EA.  EA has supplied all of our
information on this promotion so it is disconcerting to see a
representative stating that this was not the case.

We would offer a second code if EA ever provided us with one.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer something we do not have.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Here is an interesting e-mail I got from Gamestop that I thought I would share for those of you having the same problem as me:

 

Dear Joe,

Thank you for contacting GameStop.com.

I dont know what more we can tell you. EA makes the codes, they send
the
codes to us, and we give the codes out to customers who pre ordered the
game. There is no code that Gamestop makes or comes out with for
individual games, they are always given to us by the manufacturer. We
do
apologize for the run around that is not our intent at all. Obviously
it
is very frustrating for us as well when EA is not taking responsibility
for something they make and they put their mistake on the retailer.
There has been a case of a customer talking to 4 different EA customer
service agent, where one finally admit there was a problem and sent
them
an extra code which worked perfectly. I would recommend actually
calling EA and talking to a manager if the agent on the phone denies
you
a code.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
