Here it thought you all were  just unlucky er something and it just happened to me. 2nd Qtr. of the 2nd  Franchise game , while going into the play select screens, FROZEN IN TIME. Just glad it didn't happen in the 4th Qtr.

mine freezes randomly also. during normal gameplay and online. it really sucks that this happens cuz you can get a loss online and show a high dnf percentage.

i let my friend borrow my madden last night and he said it didnt freeze on him. now i thinking it might be my 360.

This Happened to me too in my first preseason game. I just turned off my console and then took the game out.  The disc was really warm so i let it cool off and when it was i put it back in and haven't had any problems since.

mines froze once but the ive played 8 or 9 games in a row and i have gotten disconnected from the server saying connection to opponent has been lost end game...neither of us get a los or win and its happend to me at least 8 times in a row i hate it *** ea servers suck!!

Btw: My xbox is great. Over year and a half and never had RROD.

Is saying "I hate Madden" your opinion?? Or is it just the "cool" thing to say nowadays??

My 360 usually gets the "disk is unreadable" error when i play any EA game. They really need to get their act together because it is only their games that do this to me. I don't like playing sports games that take an hour to complete to get near the end for it to crash.

So you guys who had games that froze did you end up taking them back for another disc, because I think I am exchanging mine for a new one.  Mine froze half way through my second offline game, and again it froze when i was doing the Madden IQ.  Then another time I got a disc error message.

yea mine froze in superstar mode anyone else then it froze in franchise mode

Mine crashes when you or your opponent challenges a play. I thought maybe I had a defective disk but I see now it is a wide spread problem. I know its not my system I just bought it in January. Now my record is 0-6 with a 75% DNF this really sucks. I hope EA can fix this soon it blows to spend $65 bux on a game you cannot stand to play because its glitching.

I started out 7-0 online with no freezes at all.  All of a sudden I play online 5 times in a row and get disconnected every time!! So I was 7-0 with a skill level of 4, moving up the ranks smoothly.. now 7-5 probably needing a 10 win streak to reach my new skill level.

Here is something that I found on the EA Forum regarding the freezing. Someone posted this today. I have not gone through the IQ Test yet and may not after reading this:

"OK, I got a weird thing I want to ask everyone. When I first started playing the game, I was in the IQ Test and it froze on me. So after restarting the system, it comes back up asking about the Madden IQ test again, which I skipped and went into the menu items to look at Roster and Depth Chart - where it promptly froze again.

Now after restarting again, the IQ test came up again and this time I chose to not have it prompt me again (can't remember the exact phrasing, but there was an option to not take the IQ test and to have it not remind me). So after choosing this option, I was able to create a franchise, roster, save everything and have played through 5 or 6 games (not all at once) without the system freezing at all. I am using a 360 and have purchased the standard Madden09.

So my question to you all to try is clearing all the 09 game stuff off your HD, starting the game, skipping the IQ test and then trying to play? Does that work at all? Anyone tried it?

If that does work, EA - the IQ test is the problem. "

Lucky i was playing franchise had a great game and every thing then.Once the game ends it goes to the sprint highlight thing then it froze there i was so mad.

same here! did it today after dude quit I was up and kept playing against CPU and with 1:40 left in 4th froze at play call screen.  I got a loss and 5%DNF and I never quit-needless to say I was furious.

Been happening here too. I was playing with a room mate on live and it disconnected us twice in the fourth quarter once he was kicking a filed goal. The next game I tried, same damn thing a *** disconnect..... and it counted for noone....

I even sent a letter to EA there respone was there are aware of the situation. On there forums in tech help here is the post.

8/18 Update

I know you're eager to hear more information about what we're doing to address your concerns, so here's the latest information available. The dev team spent the weekend working on testing the fix for this issues you’ve been reporting and will continue to do so this week in order to be certain that it will correct the problems. Once the fix has been thoroughly tested, it will be submitted to Microsoft and Sony in the form of an update which will be available for download via XBOX Live and Playstation Network. At the point where the update is submitted, we should have a much better idea on timing and will be able to provide a rough ETA on when it will be released. We will work with both Microsoft and Sony to make sure the updates are deployed as soon as possible.

Trust me guys it is your XBOX!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm on my 9th X360 so just trust me. I know the signs when I see them. If you don't believe me then try another disc but if it continues it is your XBOX.

EA already said its there game they hope they can patch it why does everyone say its your xbox its not.  I feel bad for people who dont have the internet and buy this game they will never fix the problem.

I don't want to jinx my a$$, but I have not had any issues...yet!  Although, so far I am playing offline only.

Mine freezes at the same point everytime. I can play 1 franchise game with no problems, but if I try to play 2 in a row the game freezes at the play call screen in the 1st quarter.  I don't even wanna try to go on live because I don't feel like having constant freezes and getting a high percentage for DNF considering I never quit games even if I'm losing big.

When checking the EA boards one the EA people said they found the problem with the online lobbie freeze but said nothing about the franchise freezing which is ridiculous. 2 years in a row they have had problems with freezing in franchise mode, will they ever learn how to make a great sports game?
