Second chance (last stand) can be annoying because it lasts so long. I agree with what everyone says about the spawns and it can kinda ruin the beta for you. Once those are fixed and maybe reduce the length of the air strikes this will be fun to play regularly. Can't wait for more guns and maps.

Also, the voice acting is TERRIBLE, and CONSTANT.  All of the actors are so over the top, and they never shut the *** up.  You get soooo tired of hearing the same stupid lines over and over and over again.  "OUR DOGS WILL TEAR THEM TO SHREDS!" in an AWFUL, overacted russian accent.   PLEASE!  I really hope you can turn that off.  It makes you miss the incredibly understated "Enemy Chopper Inbound" in that calm British accent from COD4.  These guys all went to the Jerry Mathers school of drama, and yes, I'm including Keifer Sutherland in that.  They've managed to turn the whole thing into a pathetic cartoon, and I resent that.

 

It really is like they took all the worst parts of COD4 and NONE of the good parts of COD3 and cranked out a really remarkably average game that spends more time pissing me off than any other COD ever has.  Lose the horrible, over the top and constant bad acting, tighten up the guns to the point where they were in EVERY previous COD game, stop pandering to children with modern attachments for weapons and perks that are just ways for guys to pretend they didn't get shot, Allow me to mantle tanks again, dont' expect me to save some idiot who is using Last Stand, he already deserves to die, make the bolt action rifles ONE SHOT KILLS like they should be, give me hit detection on my flashes and gas, design your maps with the understanding that not everyone Rambo's their way through the levels, give me a compass that is round and useable, and don't expect me to believe that in WWII you had the ability to see if someone was in the next room- or that the room is even there.  That technology simply did not exist.   just overall... fail.

 

 

personally.. I agree with just about everything you said could be tweeked (and yeah Keifer Sutherland's voice REALLY gets annoying after a coupla hours)  ..but aren't we bein a little closed minded..and harsh?

60 seconds is too long for dogs...thats relentless also..it would be funnier if they respawned. Either way its an okay game quite a fun shooter just depends how long it takes to get old.

With limited funds I can only buy so many new games.
I did have COD:WW on my list, but after playing the beta it went from a buy to a rent.
I'm grateful I had the opportunity to play the beta.
It'll be a buy when it hits the bargain bins.
I'll be interested in seeing how Farcry 2 compares (which I've already pre-ordered.)
Then again between Fable 2 and Fallout 3 will I even have time?

One word. Rubbish. It doesn't have the "WOW!" factor that CoD4 had. I'm getting Fallout 3 instead but I'll be back for Call of Duty 6!

Wow..it never ceases to amaze me how ungrateful, narrow minded and "knee-jerk" some people can be..AGAIN!..THIS IS A BETA!!..you did NOT pay jack-sh!t for it..you were invited to participate and ONE of the reasons they opened it to a selct few it to get their feedback to they can TWEAK it before it finally drops.  If there is something you don't like..tell them..and maybe they'll change or modify it.

Fix the spawn points and I will be sold.  It took me a few hours to get into the game but it finally hit me and I enjoy it now.  I still kind of prefer COD4 to WAW right now but WAW is only in beta stages and I remember not liking COD4 beta very much either.  So we will see, Gears of War 2 is holding most of my interest right now though.

One of the better extras with the beta is the inclusion of the LOCAL setting, if you use this setting, you will only play with gamers in your locale. I tried this when some servers were getting laggy, I never lagged after changing to local and most time all players were on full green bar connections.

 

I enjoyed the beta, there are some good changes over cod 4, I know I will be buying on release, the only 'gripes' I have are the respawns (as others have mentioned) and the objective games (like war and ctf) can be too short. I mostly played Domination on cod 4, so battles lasted quite a while, but it seems that just as you get into the battle it ends and leaves you feeling like your just getting snatches of gameplay rather than a good 20 minutes or so battling for the objective. I don't know if Domination will be included, but I hope so.

 

I would also like to see a change to snipers. I can't accept that snipers run around jumping and taking a pot shot at someone laying into them with a sub machine gun at medium range, and they get an instant kill, That is what happens in cod 4 after they increased accuracy of sniper weapons. I hope this will not be the case in cod 5. Snipers should be made to crouch or go prone in order to get a steady aim. It may be some auto assist in the game, I don't know, if so then it should be removed from the game for all weapons.

 

Overall I liked the Beta, looking forward to the full game. It would be nice to keep the level 11 in the full version.

I think where this beta shines is the game modes "War" and "Capture the Flag".  These two game modes sells the game for me.  You should  remember this beta is from earlier versions and there is another post where the Devs are getting feed back so changes will be made before it goes gold.

What people don't understand is that this isn't a real Beta. It's an exclusive demo that's helping Treyarch and Activision test out their network infrastructure so that the online play doesn't suck day 1. They're only calling it a "Beta" as a marketing ploy.

Feedback won't matter until the full release, and will only be implemented in the first (read: inevitable) patch.

That being said, it certainly hasn't stopped me from complaining about the problems with the game thus far...

I'm gonna agree that "War" is an awesome game type. It requires actual strategy and its where dogs have the most value. Dogs weed out those campers watching over flags from afar... so much better than a helicopter that makes people hide and camp more often.

I can't stand normal deathmatch anymore. "War" is just so intense, requires teamwork, and makes the most of tactical placement of airstrikes and using dogs at crucial moments. Love this game and will definitely buy it.

From where can i choose LOCAL, because right now its almost unplayable

In the lobby, look at the bottom of the screen fro 'preferences'.  i think it's the Blue/x button.  From there you can set it to your location only.

Because they can have a patch out by release day, this is the internet age bud! 

To all the complainers, CoD4 underwent a lot of patches, it had issues in the beta also, so at least give it some time.  So far I'm loving the game, sure there are issues but if I just turn off the headset (don't hear whiners) and stop reading the forum for a bit, and just play the game.  I have a great time, and that's really what games are all about.  A bad attitude is contagious and I see a lot of people that were originally enjoying the game start to dislike it after reading on the forums, that's the power of suggestion.  A lot of people (not all) are just jumping on the hate-bandwagon and it's pretty dumb.

Does the beta have some issues? (key word being beta)  Sure it does, but so does every game.  Overall I have a great time playing and that is really the most important part.  I, for one will be getting this game and enjoying it immensely, you haters won't be missed.  CoD4 underwent a lot of patches to get it into the game it was when your mommy's bought it for you at Christmas time, this game isn't even out yet and people are already griping.

well..I won't argue with someone who is bright enuf to conclude what I did already as well..yeah this really isn't a true beta..more like a demo/ work in progress..at least thsi is the only thing one can conclude if they're still gonna try to make the Vet's Day drop (11/11)

..BUT unlike a true Demo..they are taking feedback from the fans they've invited to participate..or if they really are not they are putting on a decent charade..I'd left critiques for Chefs and JD already..why do this if you're not really gonna listen..it's not like the videogame police are gonna bust them

Well seeing how this game will be release in a month I highly doubt that many changes will be made before launch. With that said why should people spend their money on a game that probably won't be patched until months after launch like most 360 games? Yes it is a BETA but it's alittle late in the game to fix so many issues.
