Finally got my 100% over the weekend Crying [:'(] I'm so happy Crying [:'(]

I just turned the music and vibe off from level 1. Dithered about with R2 across the river and let myself die about 3 times in each of the tunnels on the way out of the Death Star.

Huge thanks to everyone on this thread!

The developers should be ashamed!Angry [:@]

Re: Episode VI Superstory - Game Freeze Official Thread

I would like to add my name to list of people who have experienced the "freeze", twice on the river and once in the Death Star. I have played the levels multiple times through the normal story and Free Play and I have never experienced the "freeze" until the Super Story. Thank you to this thread for some workarounds because they helped me beat the Super Story and I received my last brick.

For the river part I had Music On, Vibration On and I took the Ewok through the river before anyone else in my group managed to catch up to me. I killed the 3 Troopers that jump out of the tree and then walked past the plants and slightly to right as I waddled through the river. The 2 times it froze here for me I was in control of Han jumping and shooting everything.

For the Death Star I turned Music Off and Vibration Off in the beginning of the level. As I was escaping I went normal speed through the first set of screens. Once the screens changed I went slow and made sure everything I shot finished exploding before I moved on. I died from the flames many times but I was more concerned about not wasting the last hour than my ship's health.

All-in-all this bug is very frustrating so I found some comfort in finding this thread. Also, it may be a minor detail but for me the "freeze" glitch is a system breaking glitch in that I can eject my game, pull out my memory card, and remove and plug in my controller and the screen will not change. I have to power down my Xbox to get the glitch to clear. Good Luck to anyone that still needs to clear the Episode VI Super Story and I hoped my details helped somewhat.

Solution found - Finally
Turn "Bloom Filtering" in the options menu to 0. I crossed the river by going up-stream with Han Solo and jumping up where the single silver piece is located on the Ewok level.

In the Death Star level, as you're coming out, take your time. I would have run more tests, but I don't have the hour to dedicate to this any further.

If these have worked for you, please respond.

I'm thinking the bloom filtering option is the problem. I had it set to 5 or 6 before and I crashed 5 or 6 times.

Re: Episode VI Superstory - Game Freeze Official Thread

I had locked at the river about 4 times.  I made it finally by going as far right on the screen as I could with Han Solo and jumped totally over the river -AFTER- I shot everything past the river that I possibly could.  Don't get close enough to the river to lock the game and just shoot blindly over the river trying to bust up all you can before you try to cross. I also destroyed everything on my side of the river.  Let it all evaporate and  jump!  Good luck!

This was what worked for me and I am pretty sure I am not going to try again anytime soon.  You should turn off the vibration and music etc etc.  Try to cut the processing down as best possible at this part of the game.

Luckily I did NOT hang escaping the Death Star.  I never had the game hang anywhere except at the river in the bonus game.

Re: Episode VI Superstory - Game Freeze Official Thread

I kept crashing on the Endor river in Superstory mode. After reading this I waited in the middle until everyone had crossed then hugged the left hand side as R2 and it didn't crash.

I didn't take any chances with the Death Star escape and died by letting the fire catch up with me. Completed it without crashing.

Cheers everyone for your help with this. I was getting a bit sick of playing through ROTJ levels just for it to crash at the 35 minute mark.

Right...now onto my final achievement...surviving Death Star II!!

Re: Episode VI Superstory - Game Freeze Official Thread
Finally got through this after freezing 3 times. I cleared the cache with Oblivion, turned off rumble (music was still on), wiped out all the plants before the river and any enemies and stuff I could bag on the other side, left the party sat there for a few minutes in case the level caching needed to catch up, made sure all characters were on screen all bunched up just before the crossing then ran across with Han (didn't bother waiting for the others to catch up). I had it freeze before crossing with both droids, with rumble and music switched off, with crossing via the river far to the left etc.

I must have let myself die about 20 times leaving the Death Star through sheer paranoia that it would lock up if I didn't...

I don't think it's anything to do with bad game discs, or it'd freeze every time. Some weird caching bug or something.

I've had the damn thing freeze up on me 3x now. The first time was when escaping the Death Star, and the other 2 were after crossing the river on Endor. I'm 99.2% done with the game, and have gotten all of the achievements besides the 100% one. All I need to do is complete this freakin level. Then I can have a clear concience when moving on to either Marval Ultimate Alliance or FFXII next week.

Hi All
Can i add my name to the ever growing list of people with this problem. Is there ANYONE that hasnt had this?
Also worth noting there are lots on it over at gamespot. One guy has been bugging Lucasarts about it to no avail.

Is there no OFFICIAL word on this glitch? Very poor development and support. Feel like throwing the thing in the bin!

Good luck everyone.

And it doesnt end there....
I had the notion to give it one more go and carry out the workarounds based on the posts here.
Chapter 2 in the engine room where you have to blow up the generator type things in order to build a new one for c-3po to activate.....game crashed!
I had reduced the bloom to 0 as suggested by others.

I have been lodged a call with lucas arts support (for what good that will do based on the response others have had!) but it has to be done. I urge you all to do the same.

And now.....my xbox is dead!

Will nned to contact customer services as it continually freezes now and i get the 3 red lights of death.

Im suspicious of the update that went out last Tuesday and if you look at the Technical Forum it seems i am not alone.

Now would not be a good time for MS to shoot themselves in the foot when they have done so well in lieu of the PS3 being released!

I know the above is off topic but it only happened after my last crash in Lego SW II.

PS. I thought Star Wars fans were above all that grammar stuff and left the pedantic nerd stuff to the trekkies (sic).

I have never locked up at the river (I'm going to regret saying that), but I've locked up a few times exiting the Death Star II in story or free play mode.  The best solution appears to be to die a number of times on the way out.

I haven't attempted Super Story for ROTJ yet, but reading this thread I can't wait Wink [;)]

Locked up on me again.  At the river this time.  I had vibration off, and had approached the river slowly, not destroying any plants.  I got in the river, and waited for the rest to cross, and as they were......BLAMMO.  Lock up.  This is frustrating.

This one got me too.  It locked up twice in a row on chapter 6 while getting ready to leave the death star and roll into the cut scene.  Pretty frustrating after an hours worth of time.  Then it locked up again with R2D2 crossing the river on the 3rd attempt.  Finally I read here that if you turn off the rumble and fly R2D2 across the river, then it should be ok and low and behold on the 4th attempt I made it thru glitch free.

I finally *** beat it! While in the lobby I turned off everything and turned down everything to 0. I played through, and when I got to the area with the river, I blew up everything within reach. I switched to C-3PO, and walked up to the waterfall, and then came back down and accross the river. No Freeze!! Then I played through like normal, until I got to the part in which you escape the Death Star. Here I went slowly, blowing up everything possable. I let myself die quite a few times. I ended up finishing with about 200k studs and in about 59 minutes. Horray for me I'm 100% complete now! But low and behold, it didn't give me the *** achievement!!!! I played through the damn level about 7 to 8 times, and I finally finish the *** and I don't get the damn 100% achievement!

Re: Episode VI Superstory - Game Freeze Official Thread
Ugh!!!!!

I am at 98.7% complete and this freeze is just an abomination!!! It's bad enough I am playing for almost an hour on this SuperStory, but to freeze for normal play?

Email I received from LucasArts:

"We have no other reports of issue with the game in the area you mentioned.  If you are experiencing issues with the disc in the Xbox 360, try the following:

Determine whether the disc that you are using is the cause of the issue by exchanging the disk or try the game in a different Xbox 360.

It may also be possible that the saved game in question is corrupted.

Save games that are corrupted cannot be repaired.  Please try loading a different save game from an earlier point to see if this resolves the issue.  Try the steps below to prevent the problem from happening again.

1.  We generally suggest making fairly frequent saves and alternate save game slots. This way, if one save game file goes bad, you can use one of your other recently saved games. If you have used any cheats then it may affect your save game.

2.  We also suggest copying any save games to a memory card each day to keep a backup in case your Xbox 360 hard drive fails.

3.  Try clearing your cache of the game.  Most games use the Xbox 360 hard drive extensively to cache (copy and reuse) game data. This is done to optimize all loading the game does. It has been found in rare cases on some Xbox 360s that the cached data can get overly fragmented. This exhibits itself by the game taking a long time to load anything from menus, dialogue, sounds, objects, levels, and more.

To solve this problem, reset your Xbox, and hold down the A button as the game is booting up. If any button is held while the game is loading, it will clear its hard drive cache, and create a new one. Once you see the game logo video, the game is already loaded, and the cache should have been cleared.
Note, this does not affect your game in any way other than loading. You will not lose any saved data.

4.  Delete any save files or games you no longer use from your Xbox hard drive.

Using these steps can help to prevent problems with saved games."

Um, are we all NOT telling Lucasarts support about this?
I'm sure they are not the actual programmers (see the Tt logo) and just licensee/distributor. But they are offering the support (and poorly).

I thank those that have offered solutions and will attempt.
-Don't shoot anything near area of Endor Stream Crossing
-make sure that ALL cross stream before you do (take character up and left so that they cross)
-or-
-be R2D2 and fly across stream
-allow yourself to die several times when exiting the DeathStar II
-make sure vibration is off
-turn bloom down below 5

But I want LucasArts to know, I will never get those minutes/hoursWink [;)] back!

Exactly same response i got from them.
But since my xbox is now toast and back being repaired i cant try again. Has anyones xbox given up the ghost AFTER having this problem?

Seems neither MS or Lucasarts will accept any responsibility for this. Not a good sign.

Re: Episode VI Superstory - Game Freeze Official Thread

I finally reached the Episode VI superstory this afternoon, after finishing everything else up to that point and being at 97.8%.

Sure enough, the first time around everything froze up as I crossed the river on 6.4

So I came and surfed this forum in my frustration and read through all of the tips - and it works! THANKS GUYS! I turned the music off (Leaving the vibrate on) as I approached the river. I didn't shoot any plants, but I did shoot all enemies. I let the others cross, before slowly crossing with R2 - sticking as far left as possible. It really works.

Then on the final level, I switched the vibrate off and turned the music back on. Flying out of the final scene I let the flames get me 3 or 4 times - and no problems whatsoever. I got my final gold brick. Only thing is it took me 1:04:36.... So I didn't beat it in the hour - but I got the brick anyway so I'm not complaining! lol.

I now have Boba Fett hovering by the coin fountain as we speak in order to save up for the multiplyers. I should have 100% within the hour, and I'll have done it in just under 40 hours total game time.

Next up - the undefeated achievements!!
