72 - Humming / Random Disconnects / Low Range

It seems that just muting/unmuting headset stops the humming.  or turning it off and on.  I am not annoyed by this stuff though, its still a great product and im going to keep it, but this stuff does need to be fixed.

And since this is alot of headsets, its either a hardware problem or a software problem.  Fix would be a recall or a dashboard update.

Re: Post if your WIRELESS headset is not working

77 -  I just returned my second one this past weekend.. This time I traded straight across for a game, not another Wireless Headset....

Problems:

Disconnecting every 2-3 minutes (my couch is about 9 feet from my console, with direct line of sight)

Inconsistant range (sometime I could make it to another room sometimes I couldn't)

Wouldn't work in Private Chat

Voice  in/out seemed fine I didn't have any complants while using it.. (Aside from dropped comm. do to disconnect)

The only reason I'm paranoid is because everyone's against me....

Updated 11/27

Next number is 77.....24 more and I will call MS in hopes of getting some answers.  I think 100 people posting with issues is more then enough to at least look into what is going on.  I will try and pull some strings to get this post on some gaming sites too and increase the posts/awareness.

Re: Post if your WIRELESS headset is not working

Sorry, I'm 78...

Random disconnects, have shut all other wireless devices off.  Wired headset audo works fine, console is DMZ'd, all ports open.  Tried two different wireless controllers with it, one old, one newer.  Still have frequent and random disconnects.  And when I do turn on other wireless devices, such as my cell phone's blue tooth headset, the audio is perfect and I can walk freely throughout my entire home.  MS needs to investigate and post some sort of announcement on this issue.  I have been a big MS and Xbox fan since the first Xbox was released, but the silence from MS on this and the lack of support is disheartening.  I hope this is not a trend developing from MS.

Heres what happens to me, "Juice, turn off your ______ mic".  So basically I mute myself until I want to talk.  Then, I un-mute myself, speak my peace, and then put myself back on mute.  I wish I knew where the interference is coming from.  Later

Try decrasing your headset volume mate, I found that the mircophone is picking up feedback from the earpiece so reducing it's volume actually helps reduce the background microphone noise no end. Best thing to do is to keep trying to record a voice message on different volume levels until you find the best comprimise between volume and feedback.

I know it's not ideal but it does help cure it a little.

Let me put it this way...my wireless headset is working so well, I never want to use it again.  All sarcasm aside, it's a piece of junk.

Re: Post if your WIRELESS headset is not working

(no count , second post)

The main issue I had with the whole Wireless Headset thing is that MS has not responded to these issues.. They haven't even acknowledged that the issues exist.. If they had simply come out and said, 'Yeah it's a firmware thing, we'll have an auto update soon, blah,blah,blah'.. I would have kept mine and patiently waited for the update, but that hasn't happened yet.. Thats why I returned mine while I still could.. If your have issues with yours and can still return it, do so, get a game or something else.. If you haven't purchased one yet, but are considering doing so..Don't waist your time, not yet anyway..Eventually they will get the picture and straighten all this out, but for now it's not worth buying.IMO

Updated 11/28

Added one for Inceptor...didn't post number (no biggie :P)

Next Number should be 85

Just an update, I emailed this link, the FAQ link and a few other sources to MN (majornelson.com) and we'll see what becomes of this.   I still plan to call MS support for fun at 100ish (this weekend).

Next update will be tomorrow probably, I'm offline most the day in meetings/work stuff  (bleh)

90----- disconnects (every 10-20 min on average) even though i havent walked anywhere, or moved at all for that matter.

horrible range, anywhere from 10 - 15 feet MAX

friends complained of feedback, even after i have varied the volume of the mic.

91-Humming and Buzzing, happens a lot, and my voice becomes very raspy.

Also, sometimes discomfort later.

Though, that could be my own misuse.

Terrible piece of equipment.
