I have a question editer. Do you play the full versions of the released games before your This Week in Xbox column is posted? If so, it would be nice if you provided a tip that you find appropriate for a game that will release during a week. I'm sure readers would find it helpful to get a heads up on a feature gameplay-wise or not  that gives an advantage to your readers.

Thanks for talking about the benefits of the memory module (now bigger than before!).  I love the features of the memory unit and hope to see new d/l content at retail kiosks soon...haven't seen anything new since last year.

im hoping to see the marketplace integrated to the web soon, where we can view our themese and buy them instantly from a home PC. Also, i think it would be cool to be able to select single gamerpics instead of wasting points on a pack when you will only use one or two. Final idea, theme customization- let us mix and match images on our PC's from the available pictures from all themes, and then let us buy that theme and pick it up on our xbox

an internet browser on the Xbox 360 would be completely useless...I think web browsers on GAME consoles are just plain tacky and pointless.

i disagree with that the system that can surf the web and play games would be so aswsome it is not even funny.

you can do it all when and if it happends and it will happen you have to look beyond the xbox 360 and what it,

dose now you can watch full movies and full season tv shows now. the internet browser would make the Xbox 360. the do all see all ultmite video gamming system not to mention the video chat you can do right now.Angel [A]

Re: This Week in Xbox: Column feedback, discussion, Q&A, etc.

The problem with doing a web browser is that it's almost impossible to do one with 100% of the functioanality you get on a computer web browser, due to the various plug-ins that PC and Mac web browsers end up using to extend their functionality. If you've ever tried a web browser on a non-computer device -- a Pocket PC, PSP, PS3, Wii, etc. -- you know it can cool, but can be frustrating when you hit a purchasing page, video page, etc that doesn't work. That said, Microsoft has a lot of experience with building good web browsers, so I'm sure something cool could be developed.

No idea if a web browser will ever come to the 360, but I do know that the folks who'd make that decision have heard the requests! It's all a matter of resources to some degree. Do you want a web browser, or more gaming-related features?

As for Castlevania... It'll be here next Wednesday!

Re: This Week in Xbox: Column feedback, discussion, Q&A, etc.
thanks also for setting all of us straight on the FACT that this is an issue of portability (anyone remember how your favorite pages looked on the Dreamcast browser??) and ultimately, resources.  I cast my vote for keeping our precious Xbox resource on gaming-centric apps and NONE devoted to a web-browser.  A browser just seems so incredibly useless on a console.  I'd want the Xbox team to look BEYOND the browser and like one of the posters mentioned above, look at ways to integrate 360-driven apps to xbox.com and maybe vice versa.  I'd also suggest something that allows for system and network monitoring (Live server status, bug reports..etc).

Hey Denny,

Do we know when Catan, Mini Golf and Boom Boom Rocket are coming for Arcade? All 3 have now been featured and reviewed in xbox magazine Catan was in the same one as Root Beer Tapper and Worms and they have been out a few weeks and still no Catan? In the meantime we get TMNT and Castlevania (Which was an expected release). Just wondering if there is any reasoning behind the this and if you knew when these are coming?

Thanks

i hate to tell you this but a game system cant get a virus if you don't belevie me call the xbox hot line there is no way that the 360 can get a virus.just because a web browser would help the enhancement of the current 360 dashboards. to make it even better for what you can do with it.

Editer, as you are knowledgeable about Xbox.com, might as well ask this here. Each and every day at 8-9AM GMT these forums are in a state where you can surf them with no problems whatsoever but when you try to post something, you get a "Sorry, page not available" message.

I suppose it is some sort of a daily maintenance thingy and mostly affecting people here in Europe but any idea what it's all about and if the post/reply buttons could be disabled during that period? After all, it is a bit awkward writing a long post only to realize, after hitting Submit, that it's that time of the day again :)

i think that an internet browser would be ideal for the 360. it would give us a chance,to do almost anything that a computer can, without turning off our systems. my computer went down two months ago, im using my ps3 to do all my banking, netflix, gamefly, and typing this reply. all on a gaming console! i think the 360 would be complete with an internet browser.

Actually, that is something Ubisoft has covered already. Here is a detailed summary of the new content arriving for Rainbow Six: Vegas (three new maps, two revamped ones, and two new game modes) The article says the content would be out by the end of March but Ubisoft has since announced that it will be delayed. Possibly out this month.

No probs and rest assured, you're not the only one waiting for that DLC! The game is pure brilliance as-is but that additional content is looking really, really promising and for any Vegas fan out there, definitely one to save your points for :)

Re: This Week in Xbox: Column feedback, discussion, Q&A, etc.

Hey kids, sorry for the delayed response. Family medical fun last week meant I wasn't around much.

BogieJay,

Unfortunately I can't comment on any dates that haven't been announced yet. And often with Arcade titles, we don't find out till pretty close to the actual announcement. These games are all developed by outside developers, and the timing depends on when they fully pass testing and certification. For instance, I expected Castlevania sooner than it actually shipped, but it turned out extra time was needed to make sure everything was solid. The good news is that, barring something unforseen, all three of the titles you mention will be out soon. I'm dying to play Catan, so I understand the frustration with not knowing the exact date. But I do know that, unless Brian Reynolds decides to put an Alpha Centuari emulator in as an Easter Egg at the last minute*, it won't be too much longer.

TheColdWolf,

I'll pass your suggestion on!

EldonTLH,

I'm looking into the forum issue. I'll let you know what I find out.

mykill prime,

New column is up now.
