HDTV Primer - Please read before asking HDTV Questions!

With the imminent release of the Xbox360, there's alot of questions on HDTV flying around here. Here's a few links to some accurate information (or at least opinions that are at least backed up w/ facts) that will get you started:

HDTV Background
Samsung's Excellent Interactive HDTV Guide
PhAnToMrAhL's Beginners Lesson in HD Thread
Nielo TM's HDTV Buying Guide
Deathwish238's Surround Sound Buying Guide
10 HDTV Myths (thanks, Ironhide Delta!)
Major Nelson's Interview with Tyler, MS's HDTV Expert

Buying an HDTV
How Stuff Work's Guide to buying an HDTV
ExtremeTech's TV Buying Guide and follow up
Cnet's TV Buying Guide
Note - You do NOT need a TV with a built-in or external Digital/ATSC tuner to play Xbox or Xbox360 in HD. Any HDTV or HD-Ready TV will do. All you need are the Component Cables (or VGA Cables w/ Xbox360).

The ATSC, Aspect Ratios, Signals, and Cables
What is the ATSC?
The Digital Bits Widescreen-o-Rama (all about aspect ratios)
DVI vs. HDMI vs. Component Cables (reprint, can't find original article)
Alvy Ray Smith's DTV Page (720p vs. 1080i) (his bio)
Calibrating your TV
Engadget's Viewing Distance vs. Resolution Chart
1080i v 1080p from Geoff Morrison (Home Theater Magazine) (explains why having "true" 1080p does not matter for DVD/HD-DVD output, and that it really only matters for games running above 30fps)
