Re: Jasper Discussion
I just got my first 360 a few days ago (it's a Jasper) and I can say that it runs very cool. The console isn't hot at all when I'm done (I've played average an hour and a half per session).

No complaints up to now :)

That is copied from the other Xbox.com thread, and links to a BLACK ELITE JASPER sighting in Australia.

Just bought an Elite today and it doesn't appear to be a Jasper... I think the back says 12vt, and its supposed tobe a 12.1vt to be a jasper

Wow! That's certainly some old stock. To be a Jasper Elite you're gonna need at least early 2009 I'd say.

How to find a Jasper console!

They need to be 12.1A.

A store near me has some 822 Elites, now that is seriously old stock. I have seen some at 846 in other places though. It can't be too long, we know they made some.

I can't believe the number of FDOU 0846x machines out there.  I literally can't find a Pro any newer than this at any retailer.  Every 0846x has been 14.2Amp.  Any ideas how the arcades are all newer (most stores have arcades made in '09) and yet the pros are still old falcons?  What's the deal?

The 90? LOTS have started showing up in the UK on the Pros, so can't be long before we get the Elites. I have seen some Elites though at 822! how bad is that.

Re: Jasper Discussion
I'm real surprised at that. I have seen a ton of Jasper Arcades from people all over the world. The later Falcons actually had a couple of other minor mods to the motherboard, so I would be pretty pleased if I were you.

Annoyingly for me Game (UK) has just increased the price of their Elite bundles by £20, what a joke. Although this does say to me that they no longer have a massive inventory left to clear and so the Jaspers are out there.

please explain further.  just what has changed to the 360 for the falcon model besides the smaller cpu size and HDMI (which I was surprised to see)?   my 360 was according to the label manufactured on 09-20-2008 (LOL me 09/15, 360 09/20, Dad 09/25)

Right hand side, right above all the ports and the bar code.

Falcon brought in the smaller CPU, but the later ones had a slight change to the ram layout. I no longer have the links in my favourites, but a quick Google/Bing/Yahoo should yield the answers you require. From memory I seem to think that they moved them from the top to the underside of the motherboard. I even seem to think that there were a couple of changes to the Falcon. You could also try the Ben Heck site as that guy is always opening the things up for a look. I know they have made a slight alteration to the the Arcade Jasper board too. The latest ones have 512MB of flash memory for saves etc, as opposed to the 256 that the first Jaspers had.

It is not a Jasper or a Falcon. It is a Zephyr. These brought in HDMI but no shrinkage in the CPU or GPU.

I got my Pro Jasper at lot #847 - There were many at a local Wal-Mart in the Montreal Region.

However, its the ONLY place I have found anything higher than Lots 841 for Pros in my area.

It is all down to the fact that the Arcades move much quicker than the others. the wait for an Elite has taken ages so far.

Re: Jasper Discussion
Can someone verify exactly what is a Jasper system?  I've had an Xbox 360 Core system (early adopter launch system) which RRoD'ed on me and just two days ago my Xbox 360 Elite RRoD'ed (Best Buy extended warranty ran out 05/01/09 -- I have great luck, huh?).

Anyway, I'm looking into buying an Arcade Xbox 360 now since I have all the games in the game bundles and I already have 4 controllers and a 120 Gb HDD (plus a 20 Gb HDD).  Is the Arcade bundle the way to get one of these Jasper models (and obviously looking for the newest mfg date)?  Are there any other... better ways of ensuring I aquire one of these Jasper models for my third system?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

Well my box just RROD'd for the second time. Since the arcade's seem to be the ones with the Jasper, I'm gonna go buy one tomorrow at Gamestop.

I will look for a recent MANUF. date and a 150W amperage.

*crosses fingers*

Well you are on the right track if you go for an Arcade, they are much quicker to move through in terms of stock so your chances of a Jasper are high. The key is the Amp rating, 12.1 or less and you know you have a Jasper.
