It's not necessarily bad since it probably isn't necessary with the 65nm GPU. It was added many months ago to help stop the rash of RoD problems - but it cost a lot more $$$ than the original (and now current) GPU heatsink.

It doesn't really matter. As JW said, it's not necessary for cooling anymore so MS stopped using them since they're expensive compared to the old (and now current) GPU heatsink.

Just a heads up everyone but a close friend of mine, his 360 just RROD less than a week ago. This latest one that died he only had for two months, and i checked the product info. on it, it was indeed a Jasper console. This would be his 2nd or 3rd console.

I kind of find it funny though cause i've had my 360 for almost two full years now (bought it in October 2007), and besides it freezing every now and then, it runs perfectly fine (Team CSON; zephyr motherboard w/ additional heatsink; ben Q; HDMI output)
Guess it all depends on how well it's manufactured....

P.S: I'm not trying to cause an argument or anything, just thought that'd be interesting to share.

What size PSU should be packaged with the most up to date Jaspers?  I've read people having 150W and 110W PSU's, yet both having system specs of 12.1A.  Can anyone explain this difference, and are the 150W PSU's incorporated with the most up to date design/release?

How have people got there 360's connected to there tv?

Are you running your 360 in HD, 720p or 1080p?


360 will surely work harder with the upscaling in HD and run hotter?

To my fellow Canadians searching for Elite Jaspers... it looks like our wait is finally over. I spotted two Elite Jaspers today, both in Walmart (Oshawa, ON). They were the Halo 3 bundle (free network adapter, etc.), but were the new white boxed ones, with the Halo Bundle sticker over top. I didn't write down the details but the Lot number was 93xx.

I'm now debating on whether to get the Black Elite jasper tomorrow or hold off for the MW2 Bundle, which is a MUCH better value for me personally, as I won't play Halo nor use the network adapter, however, not to keen on the color and artwork of the MW2 console.

Microsoft is not going to throw out the heatsinks they already paid for, so they used them up and are going back to the old heatsink without the heatpipe.

Jaspers are the same, regardless of what heatsink is on the GPU.

Anyone that wants my Jasper can have it. I am totally pissed and through with Microsoft. My old 360 finally died so i went out and bought an Elite. I made sure to get a Jasper. Get home, no HDMI cable. Went and bought one, then discovered I need a Data migration kit to transfer data from the old 20 gb to the new 120 gb on the Elite. Support assured me all I needed to do was call. After talking to a "intellectually challenged" individual on Support I was told they would need a credit card as I was being charged for the kit! Nope, ain't going to happen. returning the Elite and getting a Sony Playstation 3. Enough is enough.

Picked up the Lego Batman / Pure Elite bundle today and it for sure a Jasper. DC brushless fans, Team: FDOU, Lot# 0933x, mfg date: 08/13/2009, 150 watt power supply. Played games and a couple downloads had it on for about 5 1/2 hours and it runs quite and cooler then my falcon 360. Also the one cooling copper pipe is gone.

That's really weird... I updated my premium 360 to a 120 GB less then a month ago and my cable was IN the box. Weird yours doesn't have it.

Ok, the HDD stuff pisses me off too, but people need to quit whining about HDMI cables. You can get a 10 footer for like $5 at monoprice.com

I got me a PS3 slim last month and they dont give you an hdmi cable or hd component cables. Just the old ps2 lookin standard def cables, and also you get no mic with a ps3... just a heads up before you buy one and end up posting on there forums

Does anyone know if Microsoft will be releasing the Forza 3 Super Elite bundle in the U.S.?
I know they have not announced it here yet, only in Europe.

The other day monoprice.com had Blue 6ft. Gold Plated HDMI with cores on them on sale for$1.95. They got here yesterday,they work great and look great.
