This problem is becoming very frustrating.  Other gamers used to think you were quitting early but that's not the case.  I haven't spoken to anyone whose xbox HASN'T frozen.  I stand mine up, open the window, put the fan on but still it crashes.  If this was a car, people would be asking for refunds in their droves.  It's not just a problem with my Xbox360, it's everyone's so what is the problem?

 

 

there have been a few times where i was beating a bunch of better ranked players and then the game freezes on the last lap, just before i was set to finish. i log back on, and my rank has gone up insanely high. i was chatting with another racer in-game and we both agreed on that it seems as though the 360 freezes on purpose in cases like that.

I had the same thing, I'm hosting a road rage match, with a rank in the 6 thousands and I freeze up, and find myself with nearly twice the rank.

i think its the ea servers. i havnt ever had it frez or lock up in single player after like 70 hours

but its locks up on live. but more often than locking up. my sound freaks out with loud buzzing sound.. to where it drowns out the game. the only way  two fix it is to turn the xbox off and relogin.

 

agian this problem has never happened in single player.

 

Well it froze up on me to day as I was crashing it totally locked up cant seem to get those curves down yet.lol

 

I have froze at least 4 times and sometimes my dashboard freezes when I am looking at it between games.

This game freezes once in a while on me.. It's definitely online only though, because in single player, theres no issue. I also noticed my sound sometimes get distorted, but only once in every 20 races I might be in.. It usually goes away after 10 seconds.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is all server related.. You can go on Battlefield 2 and have it crash on you just as much as it does on Burnout

I just bought burnout revenge for 360.
Started a new player, and began the first couple single player mode missions.

playing burnout 4 times today, single player, 720p mode, I'd play the level for 2 minutes, and then it FROZE, xbox 360 locked hard 4 times in 20 minutes!!!!

xbox had only been on for 2 minutes before the first freeze...


is there a fix for this?
It's only burnout revenge that freezes!

every other game is great, rock solid.  kameo, elder scrolls, marble blast, PGR...  all the demos.  
Burnout Renvenge _demo_ is ROCK SOLID.   But Burnout Retail FREEZES consistently in single player mode!!!!

i notice Chrome Hounds will occassionally freeze on me.. they got such sucky servers though..

what's more, revenge is buggy!
Here's 3 (more) bugs I noticed while playing for 2 hours...

- reverb got stuck on, any time I boosted a very high pitched long-lived ringing sound could be heard.
- particle sparks from the back of the car extended from the car to offscreen until the camera changed (i.e. when I hit someone).
- the (A) green UI buttons got stuck turned on (several at once), on the crash battle location selection screen.  I got it to happen when scrolling the available locations off the top of the screen, then scrolling them back, the (A) green button icon was then showing under 3 of the available unlocked locations...



I really don't think any of this is "online" related.   I think somehow a buggy game got through Microsoft cert!

Another interesting thing.  My easily reproducable freeze bug (i.e. 4 in one hour), seemed to go away after having the xbox on for a long time (I was playing a DVD)....   We were able to play for 3 hours straight without freezes (mostly multiplayer splitscreen (not network)).   It's too early to say if "warming up" the xbox is a fix.  Some other info, The ambient temperature in the room here is 70, the xbox is separated from any other equipment that may be producing heat...  I really doubt it's over heating, since the freezing is happening in the first 2 minutes after turning the console on.

 I had a few others freeze besides burnout revenge, gta once in awhile, and full auto that game freezes all the time though compair to burnout usually on burnout its when I wreck my car or when I get award when it freezes.

 

It happened to me offline on "Jump on the Jam" level after an hour or so of playing. It froze twice online. Maybe for offline it's a sign of overheating, maybe just minor.

 

EDIT: The KnowledgeBase article says nothing about overheating. Maybe a CD problem? Nahh, if lots are having this freezing problem it won't be.

So do the previous Burnouts in the series work ok? My game is freezing without going online on My xbox. They should give us all new games lol no but for real. I like the game... it just freezes.

Ok, so I am finding that the issue only occurs in the Burnout Retail version. And only when I host matches (Race). The hard freeze ('hard' meaning I am unable to get to the Dashboard) usually occurrs on the 2nd last or last lap (and once on the results page) and unfortuately causes me to drop a huge amount in  rank :(

 

Has there actually been any word from MS or Criterion Games (I have been unable to find anything) about this bug? It's really freaking annoying! >.<

i fixed the freezing issue on my 360

360 started freezing for no reason after 2 minutes after start up no matter what i was doing, even when i removed my hard drive it froze the same.  So my last ditch attempt before sending it off was to format the hard disk thinking it was pointless. to my suprise it completly fixed my freezing issue!! i'm no xbox expert so i'l leave it to you guys to tell me why it worked when it was freezing with the hard drive removed. I think its got something do with my gamer tag???
