My elite crapped out on me Friday(3RR), I'm sending it in today for repair.

I just ordered an Arcade(512mb) from Amazon.com as a backup until I get
my Elite back.

The 512mb Arcade version should be a Jasper?

They wouldn't let me swap :(  So I got a Jasper Arcade and a new 120g hard drive.  I did manage to copy all my saved games to a memory card though. The wanted 49.99 to transfer from my old 120 to my new 120 (which I read you can't do anyways). They said they used to swap out the drives and policy has changed any they won't let you now.

Can someone point me to a FAQ as to what I need to do now with the new hard drive and console? I know I need to redownload everything (map packs and purchased games) and then tranfer licenses to the new console.  How do I transfer my gamer tag? Just log in?

I just received my Arcade 360 and it's definately a Jasper.

12.1a, 150w power supply, lot #0917, mfg. date: 04/20/09.

    I just got a Jasper this week ... but I've noticed that it seems to have a less smooth / lower frame rate and possibly more a bit more screen tearing on some games .... compared to my old 360 ....

I don't know if I just got a bad Jasper or the internal changes have resulted in slightly less performance ...

Good lord, I hope not. As it happens the Zephyr that I have been using visibly loads in the textures all the time. Does it with Fable 2 a hell of a lot, and a little on COD 5 too.

At this point, do guys think buying warranty is beneficial in the long run? After buying a Jasper and taking good care of the console (keeping it horizontal, not playing extended amounts of time, keeping it cool, etc) most likely I won't run into any problems, right? Also I know there will be another console hardware change where they combine the CPU and GPU in the future (2010?) but I don't mind not having to buy it again (just to have latest and greatest).

I don't know, Maybe you have a bad system or something. I can say that I've have no issues with mine and I'm been playing since june 28th of this year.

I hope the black Jaspers start turning up more soon. My Falcon Elite keeps freezing on me. Same thing the last one did just before it died. Got a friend in Wisconsin who swears he's seen some black 12.a amp consoles at the Toys R Us where he works. He said he'd double check, but he probably forgot.

OK. I just picked up an Arcade from Best Buy. The manf date is March 14, 2009 and the lot number is 0919x. I assume this is a Jasper but it still heats up the same when I play. I got a 2 yr warranty so I'm not that worried but still.........

If anyone could help me with my jasper question that would be great. For some reason the disk tray will be somewhat noisy at times and other times be just a tad louder than on the dashboard. Is this because of the disk drive? Is there anyway to tell if it is? Btw I took out my rrod 360(first gen) and compared by pushing up on both drives until they reached the top. The jasper went up a little more than the first gen, if anyone else can confirm this that would be great.

Dammit! I had to replace my Falcon Elite today for the second time (Gamestop PRP). I got one even older than mine was! I asked them to switch me for an Arcade instead, but the manager wouldn't do it. I'm going to set the cash aside to buy an Arcade if this Falcon Elite fries before the Jasper Elites become findable. Then just hang onto the dead Elite til right before the PRP runs out and definitely get a black Jasper.

I got a Pro Jasper a week ago :D

Seen a load more black Elite Jaspers in the UK. They are getting easier to find.

just picked up a jasper arcade HOWEVER it has a 175w ps.  12.1a  256 onboard memory unit (team cson i think) very quiet. Also came with various arcade games Not sonic though.  MFG DATE  2-27-09...  tested various games-left turned on 48+hrs no prob so far

I have not tried Game yet, for the simple reason that I did not have cash to shell out to buy one and they wouldn't get me one out of the back to look at unless I was buying. Look for LOT 920x FDOU and it should be a Jasper, all the one's I have seen are. I tried a couple of Asda stores and they were there at a few. I took a picture (which was real tough and I had to do it without noticing), but have not got registered at Flicka etc. Not sure where Game get their stock from, but I know that the ones I saw at Asda were the ones we are looking for. Also, I have mentioned before that due to the lack of competitive bundles, I don't expect Asda to shift too many so get yourself to your nearest store. PLEASE CHECK THEIR RETURNS POLICY THOUGH, I know Game have the best one on the highstreet and are better than Gamestation and HMV, I expect Asda to be good but always check.

I know its a Jasper *** head but it still gets warm when I play for an extended time and I have a bit of a concern. TwoOreosOneCup had a similar question but I dont see you attacking him.

My first xbox got E74, so I bought an jasper arcade one back in March.  It was made in late February. I played Red Faction this morning just fine.  I tried to play again and now it won't read my discs.

12,1A is always a jasper correct?

I bought my elite 360 about a year and a month ago to this date.  I don't know what kind of chip it had in it, possibly the falcon.  I used it a lot for streaming movies, music and playing games.  I never left it on more than 5 hours at a time.  It was never left on overnight.  It was laid down flat on top of my entertainment center away from all sources of heat.  Earlier this month it started freezing constantly.  Then I got the three red rings.  Then it worked for a little while again.  Then it started freezing again.  Then it showed one flashing red light and said e74 error.  Despit several attempts to get it to work for even just a few mintues I could not pass this e74 error.  It hit me, my beloved xbox 360 was dead.  Althouth this came as no shock to me and I was actually waiting for this dreaded day, it was hard to believe that it actually happened.  As I type, this my baby is enroute to Mesquite Texas in a UPS certafied coffin.  I am located in PA so I am sure this will probably take a good while till I get it back.  My question is, has anyone ever gotten a Jasper back from Mesquite, Texas as a replacement system?  I have heard rumors that they are fixing more systems instead of sending you a new one but I don't know if that it true.  Has anyone gotten a Jasper back as a replacement?  I just want whatever one I receive back to provide me with a long fun filled experience that lives well past it's warranty like my original xbox system that is still going strong.  Lastley, any ideas on what to do to pass the time waiting for my system to come back.  I feel like I lost a good friend and mainly I just work everyday and come home and watch tv all day staring at my collection of games that I wished I was playing.  I think my router committed suicide because of the loss of the 360.  Yesterday it kept resetting itself and then just shut off for good.  Oh well, since I currently have no 360 I have no need for it anyway.  To top things off even worse, last weekend I just got a 52" sony bravia s series lcd flat screen tv that I just can't wait to play games on.  Maybe I will now be able to read Niko's cell phone without planting my face 1" from the tv.
