I know this subject has been beaten like a dead horse. But, I must give one last plea for before I totally give up... Please get Killer Instinct to the 360!!!!! Even if you put it on the Marketplace. That would be more than Sufficient. You can put the original on the marketplace and make money or just make a KI III and sell it for 60 bucks. I and many others will buy it...... Again, this is my last plea!!! I hope someone is listening!!!!

hey TYC, just wondering as ive noticed your not the only one to post something like this. but what is with the sudden demand and high interest in a Killer Instinct sequel? was one planned for another system that i dont know about and this is making the community unhappy or something? or just people want to see some old school titles brought back?

Back in the early to mid 90's when I would frequent arcades I'd always play the latest MK, SF, and of course KI offerings.  Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat have gotten their retro treatment on recent platforms, so hopefully Killer Instinct will get the attention it deserves.  As I've also posted in another forum, the emulated version out there runs on DirectX VERY smoothly so it wouldn't take too much to just get it running on the hardware, the majority of the work would be getting live support in.

Killer Instinct will probably forever be my favorite entry in the fighting genre.  Keeping my finger's crossed on this one as usual.

Oh i would love this.With Capcom doing nothing but remakes, instead of updating the franchise. KI was one of the next favorite picks for 2d fighting games i loved in the day.

Acutally, there was suppose to be a KI III. that was set to come out but was never release for some reason or another. I think it had to do with NES wanting to go in another direction but not sure. will do more research to clarify. However when MS brought out RARE, everyone was sure that they would come out with one of there greatest titles. I'd really be interested to see what you can find on KI3.  I really don't remember ever hearing anything official on it other than Rare was potentially working on another fighting game at one point that was rumored to be KI3.  I could definitely be wrong though.

On the other front, I've been trying to find who exactly owns the rights to the previous KI games and everything points to Rare.  The only variable I'm not sure of is the technology that the arcade games ran on I believed was co-developed between Nintendo and Williams, which I beleive was a prototype of the Nintendo 64 called the Ultra 64.  That's something I'd have to do more looking into.  Williams definitely published the arcade titles though while Nintendo published the home versions (this can be seen on Rare's web site).  What this means for the fate of these games appearing on 360 I can't say for sure. 

I second,and third the motion to have a nex-gen KI!! A serious no-brainer, plus you make the old titles available on the market place. OK, if money the issue, check who dropping this holiday. You wanna sell consoles and hear a little less about BC then please put this game out. Its a cant miss investment on both side, and if not... why torture us by putting their names in PDZ? Seeing the names started my thirst for the UUULLLLTTTRAAA all over again.  C,MON RARE AND M$ SCATCH OUR ITCH!!!

Just curious as too how much interest one of these threads can generate. 

Oh yeah.  I would love to see KI 1 and 2 make it to the market place.  I'd probably put down any amount of ms points to play it again.  I only owned the snes version and only played in arcade a few times.  I'd love to play the arcade versions on my 360 though.  I remember saving money because I knew the original was going to come out for the snes.  I gave my mom the money and had her buy it for me the first day it came out while I was at school. I remember I was in the 7th (maybe 8th) grade at the time and I couldn't do any school work that day cause all I wanted to do was get that game. (I was normally a good student ;)  ) 
I played it for months after that.  Those were the days!

LOL that made me remember I probably still have that Killer Cuts cd laying around somewhere that came with the SNES version if you pre-ordered.

yes i would like too see that and some other oldschool rare franchises to the 360 , either live arcade or full game. please!!!!!!!!!

I agree.  I think a new Killer Instinct game would be great for the 360.  The original Xbox never really had a good number of 3D fighters on it and the 360 looks to be in the same situation.  It would be great to have more than one great 3D fighter on the 360 in addition to the Dead or Alive series.  Also this would be a chance for MS Studios and Rare to give an old franchise a new outing and hopefully give the game the true Next-Gen HD facelift it deserves. Seeing that once again anotherVirtua Fighter game has danced passed Xbox owners we will need another great fighting game until the next Dead or Alive comes out.  And Killer Instinct has a good fan base if  promoted correctly and done correctly.  Also having the originals on  the Market Place would be great as an introduction to the series.  I know Rare may not be big in the  Fighting  arena but  they are big in the graphics arena and it's a perfect chance to work with an outside source hired to help with the fighting engine and making a 360 exclusive fighter.  The characters lend well to a great storyline and fighting game.
