Hey guys:
A while back I do remember when I was having a game freezing issue with madden football 2005 for the ps2. I called EA up, I told them the game would freeze right before I would go into the francise mode. They had told me to erase my updated rosters and download them again from the live roster update and to make sure that save was the only thing on the memory card at the time. My problem with that is I don't buy a memory card just to only have one game save on it, you know.
What I learned from this issue on my own is........ I am a person who likes to have my rosters resemble the real life rosters at the start of the season/franchise. Now lets say there was a real life transaction that occured after the on-line roster update that you choose to just update on your own. In my findings I have found that this is a issue. I believe the game is having issues with the actual on-line roster update. And the more you tinker with the roster update before your season/franchise begins, your chances of freezing increase.
When they update the rosters they take alot of info out and put alot of info in, there are bound to be some problem, freezes, glitches and by no means am I excusing them. I'd much rather have them keep the game than have us waste our money money on defected merchandise. We have every right to be pissed off, do you think 2k or microsoft thought about you when they were making the price of the game? I don't think so, 60 dollars is alot of money for a defective item and that's excudling the tax. Now I am a very understanding person and these are electronics and issues may arise, although we the paying customers that must demand that these things get fixed "that's bottom line". And don't think for a second that you can't hurt them, you can stop buying 2ks games or whoever that company may be that does not take care of their fanbase. Because where they fail, another company is waiting in the wings which gives you a choice.
Now this is a major issue because we all love to have updated rosters, and some of use like them updated to the tee, even if we have to update a lil more because we fix some transaction the update missed. You can test this out for yourself aswell. When you first put the game in your system and start from scratch with the original factory rosters without uploading any of the companies on-line roster updates, you will have less of a chance of the game freezing on you only because those are the roster that are implanted and basically written in stone on the disc.
The X box 360 game that froze on me was NBA 2K6. The have been a slew of trades/transactions since 2k's last roster update, so I chose to do the deals on my own. Low and behold when I tried to exit back to the games main menu after a few franchise games, it chose to freeze. So what I might suggest don't make any deals after the roster update, try to make all of your moves while you are in your season/ franchise mode. This may cause you to actually have to leave the setting "trade overide" set to on so you can make any real life moves that may occur, but like I said do them with in your season mode and not from your games main menu. Try your best not to tinker with the live roster update. I know it sucks not to because we all like to have our exhibition rosters reflect the real life rosters aswell. If you get in that situation you may just have to keep two rosters, the untouched online roster update, and tinkered on-line roster update. I really wish we didn't have any of these issues, but I hope I might have been of some help to all or maybe be some of you.
Keep your head up and put your game face on!
