Re: Interactive Symphony of the Night Map
I'm just starting SOTN, and am getting killed often -- this will be very helpful when I'm up and running. Thanks.
If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research.

It just takes practice. Make good use of your backdash with Y. Your shield won't block many things, but it does raise your defense....

Shields are for girls...
I can't recall one time that I used one after having my stuff stolen by Death.  I rarely used backdash either.  I probably should have, but you know how that goes...

Yeah... Shields never work, but they make you more durable, so that's why I equip them... I don't know why, I rarely get hit...

I'm glad you've found my map useful!

To find your missing rooms, I'd suggest....

Start by using the drop-downs for area to make sure you've discovered all of the "secret areas" on both maps.  Next, check to make sure you got the water squares uncovered in the reverse caverns (where you need to jump up and transfor into the wolf to get high enough).

After that, just take it a section at a time (use the search areas dropdown again to isolate sections to make it easier on yourself).

Good luck!

Excellent work! I was missing one room on each castle, and the instructions in your map (as well as the map itself) gave me the info I needed!

We need a defragmentation and check disk utility! The NXE lag, it's gone. WOHOO!

Nice work man, very nice work.

Just so you know, it works and calculates search results just fine in a spreadsheet program I use called Spread32. Very cut down feature set, and fast on an old Win95 system.

Shareware version can be found here, for those without Excel:

I use OpenOffice. It works just fine with MS documents.
You can find it at OpenOffice.org
Now just wait for a MS employee to delete this post, or remove the link

There are some HD map pics in the Guide at the top. It may offer a little better assistance if you are comparing maps.

Re: Interactive Symphony of the Night Map
I downloaded the map, (everything looks good)  but when I go to click on a room I get no information on anything. It just simplies highlights the room. I thought it would give me information on what is in the current room I am selecting.

Or did I just read the whole thing wrong and this is just simply a map that shows you the whole castle?

Re: Interactive Symphony of the Night Map
If you are running the latest version of excel there should be arrows for drop down menus at the top. The map isn't really meant to help you get map completion. It's to help you find certain items you are looking for. Select what you are looking for in the drop down menu and it will be highlighted on the map.
