Ok, I have a WESTELL modem, and I have 3 friends who have the EXACT same thing, and they all can get on no problem, but I can't.. I have ethernet cable connected straight from Modem straight to the 360..Please maybe help.

Make sure you IP and DNS info is set to automatic. If you have to have it on manual or you have a static IP address put your DNS address in as the same as your routers gateway address.

kk lol im such a noob to this now all i have to do is buy one

i bought my 360 and it had 1month free of xbox live gold membership.. that is now up.. i want to go on ebay and purchase a year gold membership but i don't know.. ads keep saying that this is for a new membership only.. and i don't have a new membership.. i have one already.. so what do i do????? email me at wikkid21life@yahoo.com thanks ppl

Do NOT buy it from ebay.  They are lying.  Go to the store and buy a card.  If you want to order online, do it from a trusted retailer.  It is worth the little extra to ensure you don't get scammed by the seller.

Hey guys, I'm trying to connect to xbox live, my setup works fine if its connected to the modem, but it wont accept the IP adress when I plug it in to the router.

Ok, I'm connecting my 360 to my wireless router (a netgear WGR614 v7 if that helps) Via Ethernet cable. The router is connected to my modem (a D-link DSL-300) via ethernet cable. Whenever I try to connect to live, it fails, so I select 'test connection' and it says that my IP address is wrong. I have windows XP if that helps.I clicked on start > run, then typed in IP config. Then it told me what my IP adress was. So I went to my 360, typed in the correct IP adress. Yet it still said that my IP adress was wrong when I tested my connection. So in an act of desperation, I unplugged the router from the modem, plugged my 360 directly in to the modem, and it worked! But then I can't connect the computer and the xbox to the internet at the same time. I really need to know what to do to connect it to the router.

please, someone, help!


P.S. if it helps, My ISP is iinet.

You don't need to type any ip address into the xbox, just set it to auto

I've done that, it still says that the IP adress fails.

You must be doing something wrong mate, as that router works fine, have a look here:-

If your using wireless it will be wireless security that's the issue, if your plugging it into the router via ethernet it will be something basic

Alright so I screwed up bigtime. I originally bought the core version of the 360 no hard drive no LIVe no nothing right? My offline gamer profile has all my achievements and gamerscore. But the online I account is the one I'm using right now. How do I delete this crappy online account and get my beefy achievement filled gamer profile online. I have tried to connect my good gamer profile but it won't let me use the same email address as the crappy profile. And I only have one email address. Does anyone have a remedy?

You can always make a new email at a free site like MSN, or gmail.

I don't remember creating one and if I did I have never been asked for it again until just now, 9 months after getting the console. Can I recover this password anywhere? Please help... Thanks

Hi all.... I'm new to Xbox... Just got it in December... My birthday came yesterday and I'm trying to connect to LIVE as a gift from my parents... I can't seem to pass that online thing where you give your credit card number... I used my parents', but it tels me that they are not valid... Problem is- they are valid... We've... are using them to pay my Lineage II accout... So.... I don't really see what the big problem is... Worse yet- I can't buy those Game Time cards... No one imports them in the country... I live in Bulgaria, for now... And the credit cards have been issued in Bulgaria, but I don't think that's a problem, because- as I said- we've been using them to pay my Lineage II account for over two years now, so.... HELP!!! Please!!!

Delete your profile by going to the system blade>memory>gamerprofiles select yours to delete and the delete profile only option ( this will retain your saves and downloads) then recover it. It will have no passcode as passcodes are only stored localy.

does this mean that when u create a gamer tag u wont be able to have all the gamerscore and acheivements from an offline gamertag??

No you can make an offline profile into a gamertag. Your saves and gamerscore come with you. Select the join xbox live option while connected to the internet and signed into your profile.

If you are looking at two profiles one an online gamertag and the other an offline profile then yes you just re-made an account and there now two seprates as I suspect is the case for you. If that is true follow this guide to combining the two.
