The location-based damage system of the original OFP seems to be
missing in OFP2 (based on the Ego Tech video). I REALLY hope that
location-based damage will be in OFP2
- was already confirmed area damage in pc gamer magazine a few months ago, and also confirmed by some devs in a presentation I believe.
Based on the Ego Tech video it seems that we'll be commanding and
interacting with less units as opposed to more in the original OFP
(Hope this isn't the case) -
quoted by helios (Community manager i.e. he is our lapdog between flashpoint dev team and us) "I just wanted to clarify that in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
the player will be able to command not just the one 4 man fireteam as
was said in the UGO preview, but it will also be possible under certain
conditions as a squad leader to command multiple fireteams."
Based on the Ego Tech video it seems possible to run-and-gun in OFP2 (At least with the regular difficulty settings) -
In the one of the reviews one of the reviewers stated this will not be like COD/ BF at all since its possible to die in one shot to three. The regular difficulty settings will probably make OFP2 play like COD4 or BF: BC -
Just play the harder difficulty. :)
(Agreed on suckingness)
- The character movement and weapon movement looks as though it was taken directly from BF: BC
- The vehicle controls have been simplified (This drastically takes away from the realism)
- Perhaps the biggest con of all, we still don't know much about OFP2 (Mostly from lack of current build in-game footage)
