Re: Gaming Communites for Parents

Tonight is LMG noob night. The game is COD 4. If you are not sure what group to join or if you are not sure if you even want to join a group this event is a great way to get a feel for the community. All are welcome, just come by www.thelikemindedgamers.com, send out some friend requests and join us tonight. The game will probably be private to keep the general public out so don't be afraid to message for an invite. Just reference 'noob night' in the message.

Re: Gaming Communites for Parents
Are you a casual gamer who enjoys sport games such as Madden, Tiger Woods or Fight Night 4? Then I suggest you head on over to GSN Online located in my signature below.

I actually created GSN a few years back, under a different GT when I was a member of another community, but it got a little to competitive...a direction I did not want to see it go.

I'm happy to announce that the GSN Online is about 90% complete and ready to get things rolling! There are still a few tweeks that need to be made, channels that need some content added, but other than that all is pretty much a go!

Also, if you belong to or own a gaming site geared towards fun and relaxation over all out compitition, feel free to request that we add you as a GSN Network Affiliate (ok....just fancy talk for us linking to your page). I've already added links to CAG,LAG and Crusty Gamers....communities that I am proud to belong to that have the same family friendly attitude that many sites don't offer.

Re: Gaming Communites for Parents
I can vouch for Geezer Dan and his site, both top notch! Crustygamers is always looking for new members, we are a small group of adult gamers who enjoy laughing and having a laid back good time first and foremost, we may not beat you at any given game but we'll have more fun. That's pretty much our motto. Here's a novel idea, instead of asking my members for donations to keep the site online like alot of sites do, I actually give back to my members by holding monthly giveaways, they consist of games or accessories such as points cards, etc. There is one underway right now, visit and read all about it. There is also a points system implemented where members gain points for doing nothing more than posting, they can then spend there points in the shop for games, that's right, free games for doing nothing more than posting, if interested, feel free to visit and read all the details. We play alot of COD4 and COD W@W as well as Gear of War, Left 4 Dead and others, we are trying to coordinate a golf night right now as well as other sports games. Please feel free to visit, if you like what you see, sign up, we'd be happy to have you, if not, that's ok too, out laid back, play for fun attitude may not be for everyone. Hmm, I apologize for the long string of text, as I was typing it, I seperated the post into paragraphs but when I posted it, it comes across as a big block of text

Re: Gaming Communites for Parents
Lousy At Gaming will be holding our first ever LAG Saturday Night Live.

What is LAG Saturday Night Live, you ask?  LAG Saturday Night Live is our weekly gaming night.  We get together around 8:00PM EST and get some good gaming in.  What's that, you don't have alot of games, or none of the games everyone else at LAG plays?  No problem!  Unlike most other gaming communities, at Lousy At Gaming, we are just about having fun while gaming.  You don't have to have the same game to join us.  A party (or 2 if needed) will be created at 8:00PM EST, you can come and join the chat while playing any game you want.  No need to worry about renting or buying a new game.

If this sounds like something you would be interested, please feel free to stop in at Lousy At Gaming, sign up and join the fun.  We hope to see you all there.

Re: Gaming Communites for Parents
Hey all,

What a great thread....I am amazed at the number of mature/parent related sites available for gamers.  I found GDL (www.gamerdadslive.com) because of the Mo Moss interview years ago and am now a community admin.

I'll be honest, I never thought to let you know about the leagues I have set up.  I hope there is no issue with spamming you here if we have an up n coming event....if so....please delete this post so I know.  I just take pride being a member of a mature gaming site that allows me to meet great people like you to game with....I like being a big kid.

So, I want to invite any gamer "parents" that would be interested in joining leagues.....you do need to be a member of GDL but registration is easy and free.

We have many leagues running and continue to accept more players daily.  With leagues like NCAA football, we add players in at the end of each season (last year we ran multiple leagues for over 11 months).  With our new Tiger 10 league all are welcome to compete in the weekly tournaments with other gamer parents (Amateur and Tour Pro levels are available).  Currently we are starting sign-ups for Madden 10 online franchise.  We still have spots open, team availability is on a first come first serve basis.  Kickoff is only weeks away.

If you are looking for fun casual gaming and solid competition please stop by and sign up.  I have really enjoyed my last few years playing in these leagues with other parents and look forward to this season.  If you have any specific questions let me know.

Thanks,

Hitman

Thank you very much Stinky.

There is still some work to be done with the site but I'm happy with how it's starting to all come together. If there are any out there willing to help out with the site/forums feel free to head on over by clicking the link in my sig.

There can never be too many sites out there.  Hitman and GDL run a tight ship and have enough interest to support all their leagues.  They key is quality, not quantity.

You nailed it my friend. I guess what I meant was that there are just some really great sites out there for the sport gamer who keep things current and fun for all. I'll be checking some of those sites out very soon. Quality is number one.

Re: Gaming Communites for Parents
Thanks Nien & Geez I will take a look at the site, sounds great.  GDL is not specifically sports, its just what I love to play so those are the events/leagues that I run....lol.  Anyhow, I look forward to seeing the site and welcome any new member to GDL that would be interested.  It's nice to have different communities to be involved with to meet other mature gamers (well most of us are mature...he he he).

See ya all online!
