While I'm all for the banning of pirates, and other illegal activities associated with Xbox and gaming in general, I think it's pretty insulting basically to have to prove to MS that you legitimately purchased the game a week before the release date.

Exactly right. And I've seen it at my local IGA (where the price differences aren't as grand) - it wouldn't be different for electronics.

Yeah, you can't deceptively advertise something. If it's a misprint, and action has been taken to notify customers of a misprint that's fine. Using logic, I'd assume stock's of MW2 will start to trickle into stores over the next few days... would I be too far off the bat in assuming maybe the people that have said "Yes, on sale tomorrow", may have checked their incoming stock, and it's actually due for arrival into Big W's tomorrow? Don't know how things operate at Big Dub though, anyone who's has knowledge of their operating systems care to elaborate on what I speculate? lol.

I havent seen the Big W catalogs,  but if they claim in them that MW2 is being sold tomorrow ie its listed and doesnt have "Comming Soon" or "Available X" and the catalog is dated started tomorrow, I would assume the same principle applies. They have to sell it to you....if they have it.

Check the front page, it should say the dates for the catalog, if it starts tomorrow, take the catalog in there and demand they sell it to you. If they say "we cant sell it until xxxx" show them the catalog.

Not Very Good Trivia

If  BIG W are selling it tomorrow, yes they will be breaking the embargo, yes there is a STRICT release date, and i be surprised if they even have their stock yet. We ( JB HIFI ) have been told that there will be serious penalties. Just because its in their catalogue and it starts tomorrow it doesnt mean its available tomorrow.
I think you may be dissapointed if plan on running to Big W tomorrow.
