Re: Duality: ZF (October 2008 Alpha Demo)
My wild guess is that G-Mode is a gravity mode where the bullets come back down at either you or the enemies after they've been shot. I guess if that was to be implemented it could be done two ways in regards to how much 'force' each bullet had. The first method would involve flicking the stick forward, since it is analog varying degrees of tilt would result in different amounts of force. The second and likely preferable method would involve using various degrees of pressure with the triggers. If I'm wrong, well I pretty much described my hypothetical control scheme anyways, so it'd be a shame if someone does not use it!

Might be fun, but honestly I'm looking forward to modes that wont require offline co-op to enjoy. Quite frankly I don't do offline co-op, so I tend to be more interested in what I can do single player, or online co-op when it is available. Still, it's an extra mode/control scheme, so I am happy enough with any extra bits.

I have no idea what G-Mode is.  It very well could be the G-spot mode.

That'd be awesome with the four player thing. Link up and form Voltron!

As they say, variety is the spice of life.

I have conjured up some new theories:

Good Mode - You never lose a life, never miss an enemy.  (also see, Great).
Goofy Mode - Everything is just downright weird.  Special bosses are none other than Goofy himself.
Gorgon Mode - Set in a gothic background somewhere in crete or athens.  Look out for that ugly picture that will popup if you stare too long (~ 1999).
Gratify Mode - Everytime you kill an enemy or boss or even die, you are congratulated at how well you did.  Great morale booster if you ask me.
God Mode - See doom, quake etc.  The more i think about that one, the more it could be that.
Gingerbread Mode - Every enemy, scenario and bullet looks like tasty ginger bread.
Gosselin Mode - Fight your way through 10 levels of action packed kicking and screaming.  Can you save Jon and Kate's marriage that has gone awry?
Goobers Mode - You fight...delicious...round...morsels...of...chocolate...peanut...goodness

I'm sorry but if this mode isn't any of these then it is a lie.

I always thought it was cool that Space Harrier did this.
OutRun 2 and varients also do it.

Some great efforts by TF!  This might be a good way to get new ideas!  Anyway, the shmups forum has already cracked this case, but I'll wait a bit longer to see if anyone here gets it.

Ok.  I'll give everyone a hint as to what g-mode is.  It's on the arcade and its not called legions.

Let's all bow our heads in a moment of silence for the original 200 point Duality ZF game that never was!  (Would be cool to go back and look at that game, now!)

Duality ZF is taking way too long to come out. Thats just crazy that it was announced a year ago and it is still not released. I know you guys put alot of effort into it and I'm pretty sure it will be fun but it keeps getting my hopes up. Please... can you give a solid release date yet?

Re: Duality: ZF (October 2008 Alpha Demo)
I appreciate your support and enthusiasm, but it is impossible for us to give a solid release date.  And here's why:

If it gets accepted into XBLA (which will take us a week or so just to get a pitch together), that will mean Microsoft is in charge of the release date and it would probably be next summer.  But if this happens, feel good about it and feel good for us, because XBLA is huge compared to Indie Games, and it means you get leaderboards and achievements, and the game will be more polished as we'll use that time to make the game better.

If it does not get accepted into XBLA, then expecte an XBLIG release shorty.

(Poor PC users will have to wait for the Xbox 360 release.)

As you can see, how can I give out a release date?

I think it has become Xona Game policy to never speak of release dates again.  We have only burned ourselves by doing so!  Trust me, this was not some weak marketing hype gimmick we put together.  We meant the release dates we put up, and we felt the pain worse than anyone when we missed them.  Being so new to this industry, we are just learning every day.  About 95% of what we learn had nothing to do with games, and everything to do with business (marketing, networking, relations, etc.) and it takes time.  EDIT:  I shouldn't even say that, as we have learned a lot in software engineering, too, but it's all too late to be put to work on Duality ZF, as the damage has been done!

We just went to MIGS 2009 and met with Nintendo and Valve (Steam) to see about Wii and PC releases.  All of this is important to us, but it takes time and resources and, being only two guys, it makes it hard to be productive on the game.

I'm not making excuses!  If I had never promised a date, nobody would care, just like nobody seems to care when hurricane x2 evolution comes out, and it's placed in two Dream Build Play's already!  So this is my fault, and I accept the consequences!  I can only pay you back with a worthy game, and that's what I am trying to do.

Thank you all for your support!
