Re: I miss ESPN NFL 2K5
Same thing happens in 2K5 and APF, each game, (Madden Included) has some offensive line issues that I wish would be fixed.

whether it be the animations problems with APF and ignoring defenders, or Madden's idiotic strategy of trying to block a 3-4 defense like a 4-3 defense.

No doubt one of the greatest football games of all time.  PERIOD.  Game Informer ripped it during some little thing they had to do to fill up pages.  However this game can not be touched.

No need to miss the game. I still play it, and I play it every year with current updated rosters.

Where are you getting updated rosters from?

If you like golf (LINKS 2004) is a must have game. A major steal for the replayability. Best money I ever spent on a game.

Also, on the left hand side of the front page of the above link, go down to 'Operation Sports' and go register at the forums there.  There is a very active NFL 2K5 forum there with every tidbit of info you need, including roster editors, slider forums, etc.   Also, OS is one of the biggest sports videogame communities on the web and developers actually read and post there, including the Madden devs, NCAA team, Sony SCEA guys, etc.

Good luck, and enjoy.

its laggy because its not made for the 360... i bet you a quick patch would fix it up but there is no way in hell EA allows M$ to allow 2K to do just that.

It would have been the death of Madden X if NFL 2K5 was fully playable on the 360.

It was great for its time, but if you go back and play it now, it's really not that great. It's still better than APF though. I was really hopeful that this game would have been good, but it just wasn't. One of the biggest things that bothered me about it was that felt so slow. A professional football game should not feel slow.
Well duh, but if it had a chance to rival Madden today, it would easily still be the best, just like NBA 2k is much better than NBA Live.

Set your HDTV display to scan for a resolution instead of settihg a standard. this should allow all formats to display in their native settings.

Re: I miss ESPN NFL 2K5
I love NFL 2K5 too and I think Madden 10 has finally made some strides at becoming a more complete football game.

but for now I think the most fun I've had playing a video game football game is still APF 2K8.

Its just so fluid, and the gameplay IMO is at just the perfect pace.  I own 2K5 and 2K8 and if I play them back to back I would definitely give the nod to the newer game.

What kind of stupid quantum singularity assessment is that?

EA has no pull over what Microsoft chooses to do with the rest of their investments. if it was in Microsoft's, or even 2K's best interest to put out a patch, it would have been done. It hasn't been done, because you're lucky if you see 8 people playing ESPN 2K5 online.

if people wanted it, they'd get it. there simply isn't enough people complaining hard enough to get it.

What a great feeling knowing how many still love this game. Since the game came out, I have always done my rosters and what have you, because there was no way I was playing Madden after this game. I salute everyone of you. Keep the faith, our day shall come!

NFL 2K5 was the last football I bought; such fond memories!  Really never cared for the Madden series all that much.  Give me TECMO Super Bowl and I'll be happy!!

Playing: DA:O, AC2, Batman:AA, Crackdown
Waiting for: ME2, Just Cause 2

It amazes me that after all these years EA still CAN'T GET THE GANG TACKELING RIGHT! Also the hot route system in 2k5 was perfect.

The hot route kinda blew in 2k5. You could only do 1 at a time. Still, 2k5 the best of all time

Re: I miss ESPN NFL 2K5
Is anyone interested in starting a League for APF 2K8?  It is hard to find people to play online right now and I really love this game and I am will to do everything possible to a League up and running.  The league can be a mixture of NFL replicated teams along with Custom created teams.  All we need is atleast 8 dedicate players/owners for the league to get started. Just post here and we will see what happens.  Hopefully people still play this GREAT game!

Re: I miss ESPN NFL 2K5
1And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.

4I saw thrones on which were seated those who had been given authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshiped the beast or his image and had not received his mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5(The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy are those who have part in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.

Satan's Doom
7When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 10And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
The Dead Are Judged
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. 13The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
