I wouldn't bother with this technique......I simply play as Luc, go right until I am inline with the line on the hoardings and perform a maximum spin X shot on serve....it will ace everytime, even on All Star.  Even if you do not win any points apart from on serve, you will still win the game.

2-0

2-2

4-2

4-4

6-4

6-6

8-6

8-8

10-8

10-10

12-10 win.

Re: How to beat the CPU everytime [for ppl who need help]

Juergen on All Star was a *** for me, I ACE serve him everytime (as noted, an Ace server is walk all the way to the right and on the opposite side of the table you look for the FIRST divider line in the advertising surround at arena level to the tight of the table. You line up either on this, or take one step to the right and perform a full power, full spin (so, full white bar, with slider at the top)) shot.  I ended up winning 22-20 or something against him.

I am now on the last 3 games of All Star, having won all my games up to that point with Ace Serve.  I think I am playing Jung Soo. He is a litttle tricker as the little minx can sometimes return the ball as he makes a slight skip to his right to return it down the line which is a beehatch to return...

Turning off zoom is probably the best thing you can do, it may look cool a few times around, but it's a complete disadvantage to against your reaction time.   and the biggest thing to remember is to not a hard shot near corner if the computer isn't off the other side of the table, or he'll smash it cross everytime.

I still manage to do that even though I know better,  stupid stupid stupid

I don't know how you people can do it. It's too confusing

Re: How to beat the CPU everytime [for ppl who need help]

This hint simply does not work.  I hit backspin to the left and I always get a topspin back 90% of the time.  How can I mess up a left backspin....

This game would be more fun if I could play the stupid thing.  I can't even beat Juergen on the first, easy level.

Confusing?  Hard, maybe, but never confusing.  If I lose a match I'll know exactly why - because I was stupid enough to hit a topspin shot at Jesper, for instance - there is nothing confusing about it.

Well me and the other guys who are still scratching our heads at this game probably already got money back for something else

But I still have the game and willing to keep trying as long as I know it can be done.

Re: How to beat the CPU everytime [for ppl who need help]
It certainly can be done despite how frustrating it may get.  I had to use a real weak backspin serve that they'd hit in the net 50% of the time and if not hit crosscourt backspin shots away until I had an opening to put a focus shot by.    Or if you have a good player you overpower the women.

Hmm I am not sure what you are doing wrong.. but it works wonder for me.  Of course it's not a 100% thing.. but I would say half the time if I return as a combo shot I get a high return which allows me to smack the heck out of it.. just watch yourself and don't go overboard...

Re: How to beat the CPU everytime [for ppl who need help]
Thank You Snipa!!!
with your little combo/smash trick i finally finished Pro and All Star.
It took me hours to even finish the medium difficulty.
But after your advice I managed to go through Pro and All Star without losing once.
But I have to say, it takes a whole lot of practice to perform all these techniques. Well, at least for me it did.
But once you mastered it, it sure helps you to beat all those " Human Walls"  like Juergen, Haley, Carmen, or Luc for instance.
Now I am going to go for some of  the online Archievments next.

Cheers Mate

Re: How to beat the CPU everytime [for ppl who need help]

what's the best way to smash anyway? My smashes are alarmingly ineffective. Do you charge a topspin shot and aim at the open end of the table? I've been doing backspin and sidespin smashes and they generally go off the table or get returned.

Off topic, to unlock shirts/venues, do I have to be playing exhibition or tournament mode? Or does either work? I suppose playing 2-player doesn't ever unlock anything?

thanks in advance

Smashes are automated and are all the same, there are no topspin smashes, backspin smashes etc... just a smash.

cool! one less thing to worry about. What about charging a smash? Do you need to charge it? Does it make any difference?

Power is charged like any other shot, but don't overdo it.

smashes do change with different buttons
like when i do backspin it usually goes really high of the table and side spins work aswell
