Ditto. I'm very happy to have seen this thread before I tackled this. Many thanks.
After reading the first couple pages of this thread, I decided to take a particular route, and I went all the way through on my first attempt, with zero issues.
1. Played through to Endor, lowered the gate right before the river, and took out the three troppers that drop down from the tree from about where the gate was. Switched to R2 then and there and rolled into the lowest plateau, then into the river (destroying nothing), turned left once I dropped into the river and went upriver (to the left) about one, maybe two character lengths, tops (i.e. not much, but thinking wishfully, enough to let them all get by). Waiting to curse the developers for shipping with a hard lock, I watched as everybody crossed the river, I tentatively went back downriver a little bit and rolled up behind them all and up the hill, switched to a blaster character to take out the troopers... no lock. Sweet. One down, one to go.
2. Kept playing through to Death Star II, and played that level through the Star Destroyer section and up until the first torpedo objective before I remembered to turn off vibration. Turned off vibration and continued the level, destroyed the reactor and began the escape. After the second transition (entering the third section), I stopped dead and let the flames catch up and kill me. Left the stick dead as I respawned and died again. From there I flew forward as I normally would, again waiting to curse the developers for shipping with a hard lock, but it kept going, I finished the stage, got through all the ending razzmatazz, credits, back to the Cantina, not a hiccup. Double sweet.
3. On a side note - as I've seen it brought up early in the thread (didn't read the last half) and was always under the impression that you needed to finish the Super Stories in under an hour and eclipse the stud total to get the brick - I went over the time limit, but did meet the score/stud goal, and as a result earned the brick. Sweet³.
So again, don't know if it would have happened at all, but I'm entirely ok with that scenario. I feel for those of you that are having the problem though, and hold out hope that they'll issue a patch ASAP. It's one thing to lock up during a level... but it's another to have to play for ~45 minutes without a save point, only to get shafted for all of your effort over and over again. Maybe something I typed above will help.
