a post from sharpie on the sierra assault heroes forum:
I just visited the forum for AH today for the first time, and I was surprised to see that many people are unable to play co-op. I have never had such a problem. I don't think the problem is the game itself, but rather your XBOX 360 consoles. I have had similar problems before with other games. Here is a possible fix that you can try. One note, these fixes are not guaranteed to work . So please don't start complaining if it does not work for I am just trying to help out.
Step 1 - Deleting you temporary cache files .
To delete the temp cache files in your xbox, simply hold down the A button, when you press the xbox button to turn on your console. Once you get to the main screen, you can let go the A button.
Step 2 - Deleting game updates .
To delete all game updates on your xbox, go to the system blade and then memory. Press Y on either the HDD or a MU and then press X , X ,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X , X . Once you do this a blade will pop up saying: This will perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices and ask if you wish to continue. Simply continue.
Step 3 - (OPTIONAL) Delete the game and re-download it .
One optional step you can perform is to delete the game and redownload it. To do that go here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916663
When you go here you will see that even the big guys there say that sometimes, downloaded items can be corrupted. Therefore by performing the steps above will remove any corrupted downloads and updates that may affect the system.
Now that you have cleared the xbox of all the junk, launch the game and see if the multiplayer works. This might work if you have a buddy that did the steps above too and, can join you in a co-op game.
Good luck!
source...please keep in mind that I have already tried just about all of these with no love...
....was just hoping maybe some of you would have better luck than I did....![Beer [B]](/emoticons/emotion-22.gif)
