After I get each Achievement in this game, the console freezes, and I can't even return to the dashboard. I see from reading the forum that this is happening to a few other people too, but not everyone. I'm playing the PAL version of the game, if it makes any difference.

Please Ubisoft this is clearly a game bug that slipped through QA, can you release a patch to fix this, it's annoying having to play through missions twice after the Achivement pop-up crashes my game the first time I do that mission.

Cheers.  Me too.  The first two were okay but the third was a bust.  I've heard if you disable acheivement notices the problem will go away.  Bad solution, but at least it'll work until they patch it.

Haha okay guys, i got a japanese console and a japanese version of the game, and it has been doing the same thing to me for over a month. Must be a bug.

And for the record, i turned off all messages, all notifications, everything, and the game still locks.

Happening in US too, but apparently not to everybody.  Think I'll see if another copy will work.  The first achievement appeared normally but after that it locks up. I still get the new plane and achievement after I reboot though.

Are we refering to the post mission when the screen just goes black after the replay?

for the first 2  they pop up screen achievement but know my xbox 360 doesn't even say i got an achievement and its really annoying  and every time i get a black out screen that means i got an achievement cool that's a lot of times now that i think of it and i only have 9 achievements

Can you say recall? I don't think so, but it would be nice for some sort of acknowledgement that there is a problem. No word on the Ubisoft website. Is Taito present?, anyone....Bueller?

Just another example of a JOTS (Junk On The Street) company. Really a shame!! Betwenn game screens are embarassing. I guess that Microsoft has no control or review of any 360 games. Someone should have said: "You can't sell this krap for our platform"

 

I see no problem with getting achievements... but the game did lock up on me the very first time I played an online multiplayer arena game (20 minutes into a 60 minute session... Grrr!!!). Thankfully I had no problems for the next couple of hours after having had to power cycle the 360.

Mine locked after some but not all achivements.  But when I restarted the game, I had to play the level and get the achivement again!

ditto, 1st was ok, 2nd achievement locked up just as the replay started on the main replay screen, no achievement showed up yet once reset the console i had received a achievement for it but i still had to redo the level again because you cannot get to the save game screen which is after the replay screen.

getting seriously cheesed of with the games that need patching these days, its getting as bad as PC games, thank god i have LIVE because without it your basically screwed

I don't have that problem, it has never crashed or locked up on me. Just the mutiplayer lobby needs a patch.

same here folks, just not on awards... almost every time it loads a replay it freezes.
it even played a whole replay then when it restarted playing again from the beginning it froze up.
seems like the loading of the replay is the critical time for me.

this game is like old jeans... needs a patch in the a$$.

I'm sure this happens to everyone. All my firends have the same problem and it sucks!!! I did need about 3 hours to beat a mission and then it did unlock an achivement and was frozed on taht. As a result I must again beat that mission. You can think how angry I was! I don't know if it is related to the game or if it is a bug of the 360 system software, as I have some problems with the achivements since the last Dashboard update. The "Achivement unlocked" message gets sometimes not displayed anymore since the last update. As such I wondoer if the froze of OverG is a MS Dashboard problem or not.

ok i know this suck  but away around it is you have to restart ever time you see your loading screen starting to hangup and stutter it works everytime

If the problem is happening for as many people who are reporting it, then it does not matter if some "people" do not experience the problem. The fact that it is happenning is unacceptable!! It should have been caught in testing.

Here is a trick that sometimes works to prevent the crash from happening.

Basically, the Over G Achievement crash will usually not occur if the 360 'guide button blade' menu is onscreen.

So if you are fast enough, right after you exit your post-mission briefing you can press the 360 guide button, to call up the 'guide button blade' menu.  If it is onscreen before the replay starts, then the replay will not freeze.  Then you can save your mission progress from the replay menu.  After your save completes, it will try to crash again, so quickly call up the 'guide button blade' menu again, until you are back at the mission select.

I believe this to be a problem with the MS dashboard, not OVER G, as i had this game for 2 days before the last dash update, and didnt have a problem, then the update came (not the big one, the tiny second one that supposedly affected chinese language support) and it started locking.

What i noticed is that if you get you're achievement do not try to push any button to skip the replay at that moment.

Just let the achievement icon pop up and away then skip the replay....this way i never had a lockup anymore.

Wow, so I am not the only one.  It appeared to freeze on the second mission replay.  I rebooted the 360 and saw I had the achievement, but had to redo the mission again.  This is going to suck if this happens constantly on the later missions.

It is becoming more and more frequent with the online arena for me, i can't even finish a 30 min game now without it freezing.  Also on single player mode it freezes.  Is it the disc or the 360....none of my other games do this.  I would hate to have to return this game just because of the freezing factor, its a good game but there is no need for the frustration that goes along with it while trying to play the game.

eviltedi has the same prob (PAL) when he completes the mission, the replay dosnt start, no achie announcement comes up but the screen goes blank. on restart of console the achie is unlocked but he has to redo the mission for it to clear, and at the end of it theres no prob, carries on with no hanging.

glad (unfortunate term) to know he's not the only one, but i do agree this shouldve been picked up in the testing process and the game should not have been released till the prob was fixed

hmm...this game seems very buggy.  I had the game freeze once again 'after' the replay and when it was getting ready for the next mission.

Well... it looks like I'm not immune to this issue... My 360 locked up on a black screen (just before replay should begin and probably where Achievement notification was to occur) when I pressed A after I received the message that the Raptor was unlocked. After power off and reboot I had the achievement but no plane... so I had to play the mission again, thankfully this time the game didn't lock up.

That appears to be Ubisoft's standard answer to any issue you report to them. Don't expect an answer or solution from them any time soon though... I still haven't seen any answers to my most basic questions for Blazing Angels submitted over a month ago!

I agree that this issue (and others) should have been detected during Beta and/or QA testing.

I wish I could get to that point. My copy freezes up everytime I try to load the single player. Multiplayer works but that's about it. This is ridiculus. I want my money back. I can't even play the game, brand new out of the box. Has anyone experienced the same issue?
