@GWO yeah I played the MP demo along with MAG. it was alright don't like the 3rd person and not to into SP gaming so didn't really do much for me.
S2G review of borderland:
Here's my take on Borderlands after spending a few hours solo:
If
you take Fallout 3 and rotoscope it (make it cartoony) take away a bit
of the open world feeling (not all) & the cheating quantum singularity V.A.T.S.
aiming system & throw in 4 player co-op with a bazillion weapons,
you've got Borderlands.
The controls feel good. The aiming is
a bit awkward at first in the sense that the sensitivity is touchy on
default & that your gun's bullet spread is directly relative to
it's accuracy rating, so even though you're dead on aiming you might
not score a hit.
You can halo jump & access areas that you
wouldn't think of initially. The controls scheme is a CoD4 replica, so
it will be familiar.
You start by choosing which character
you'd like to run with. Basic Soldier gets boost to assault rifles
& shotguns, Hunter gets boost to ranged weapons like sniper rifles
& such, Hot chick gets magic & SMGs (???) and the beast gets
brute strength melee & explosives. All characters also get a
"special" perk. Not sure about the 3 others but the soldier gets a
sentry turret as his ability & it can be upgraded through the perk
tree. (see below)
You can level up & upgrade yourself in 3
categories using a tree system of perks to spend points on. Then
depending on what character you selected will decide what perks you get.

I'm
playing as the soldier currently (go figure) & I'm REALLY enjoying
the game. The art is fantastic & the voice acting is pretty funny.
It does fall short on the variety of enemies. I played for 3 hours and
saw several variations of the same enemies, size (Little medium, big)
or equipment being the variations.
You can blow limbs off of
enemies and the game has some cool gore that looks like stuff out of a
graphic novel when you're up close.
I give it an 8-8.5
Don't pass it up if you have the chance to rent it.
Some more similarities to other games here:
There's a Gortana-esqe angel that guides you. She even kinda sounds like the halo-a-gram.
The vehicle that I've driven controls like a go-cart version of the warthog. & is freaking awesome for roadkills.
Instead of leaving the vault like in Fallout 3, you're LOOKING for the vault in Borderlands.
I'm
actually sorry that I'm putting so much time into the game right now,
seeing as I'll have to start all over once it "retail" releases & I
can play it legitimately.
It gets hard as hell a bit later
into the game. I'm currently a lev.13 & having to scramble during
heated fights & think of cheap ways to pick of enemies.
