Infantry:
The Spetsnaz in blue berets are the equivalent of the U.S. Army Green Berets. Fear them. Get out your big guns and show them no mercy. Now would be a good time to use those hand grenades.
The less you fire your weapon, the less the enemy will notice you. On the other hand, magazines of ammo have done you no good if you have been killed because you didn't shoot enough.
If you find a sniper rifle or rocket launcher, give it to the soldier with the highest skill rating in your squad. Give machineguns, grenade launchers and submachineguns to your next highest. Give plain old assault rifles to your least skilled.
In multiplayer, use your smoke grenades as landmarks to guide your helicopter gunships and ground attack fighter-bombers. "Enemy 200 meters North of my (Color) Smoke!" You can also use them to distract an opposing player's attention.
Keep your team-members spaced apart enough that one explosion doesn't take out your whole team.
You are less likely to be noticed if you kneel/crouch, and even harder to notice if you go prone. The same goes for the troops you lead.
Corners are a good place to be, in town. If you take fire from one direction, you can quickly turn the corner and have cover.
If possible, it is best to assault a town by firing into the town from a safe distance. After you've killed all visible enemies, change your position so that you are firing into the town from another direction, the directions that the roads run and windows point are usually best. If possible, make a complete circle around the town, lobbing grenades and/or mortars into the center of the town, where enemy soldiers may not be visible from outside the town. After you've done this, enter the town, putting grenades into the windows and doorways of buildings where you know enemy troops are hiding.
Helicopter:
In multiplayer, it is best to fly slowly and carefully if you have a human player as your gunner. Remember to bring your nose up high enough that he can train his nose gun on the enemy.
You may have to aim higher than your aimpoint to get unguided rockets to land where you want them.
If you split your squad into two teams and order them to separate by some distance, you catch the enemy in a crossfire and also increase the reach of your "eyes".
Armor:
Use HE rounds for infantry and soft-skinned vehicles. Use AP (armor-piercing) rounds for hostile armored vehicles.
You might want to bring along some infantry to escort your armored vehicle. Just be careful that you don't run them over in a heated firefight! Try ordering them 50 meters in front of or to the side of your armored vehicle.
Truck-Driving:
If you come under enemy fire, turn the back end of your vehicle toward the enemy. Enemy shots are likely to kill the soldiers in the very back of the truck bed, but their bodies might shield any other soldiers from death. Your life is most important. If you get shot, all passengers will be dangerously stationary in the enemy's killzone while the commander picks a new driver.
