Just in case you don't know how to do it. all you have to do is load up all the same bombs. switch to cockpit view with real HUD. on the btm right you will see single, press the pad to the left and it will toggle single/multiple.

when you are locked to a single target, it will drop all the bombs on that target.

I heard you can only do it with unguided bombs, I haven't tried with guided...

I dont think so. I think I was using guided. you can manually drop them and they will act like unguided.

I put the controller in my pants before I drop the bombs, hit drop and let it vibrate for a few seconds. It's nice, especially after work.

heres a tip: dont use it!

carpet bombing is cool if your lazy and dont want to press a button 13 times but if you slip up you waste your entire payload because there is no way to stop the release once it is started

They do have a different type of lock. most of the time you'll see the targets on your cockpit monitor. It's locked. Now, all you have to do is press and hold the release button. Once, you have to line your HUD cross hair(directional) with the bombing vertical line. Remain Flying straight, once the lower Targeting Cross hair pass over target it will do AutoRelease.

yes but dont you have to keep the crosshair over the reticle in order for your bombs to be acurate? what im saying is if you slip up and dont keep the target aligned you will waste your bombs

Which crosshair? I fly straight(leveled). I keep my directional crosshair lined up with 0 degrees. I normally never see the one on the bottom. Then again I always fly my bombing mission inside the cockpit with real HUD. From what I experience so far, they wont drop until your crosshair is right over the target. I wouldn't drom 13 bombs on a tank. I have just for fun.

i use to only use in cockpit with real hud but lately i have found that the cockpit animations simply dont give you as much information as the full hud. try going into i twhen you bomb and you will see a riticle showing where your bombs will land. you must put that inside the target box when you release your bombs. its easier thatway because you can see what your bombing and you dont have to fly straight and level

When playing arean mode its hard to dive and target with them sam sites. That's why i like to fly lvl.  I like that for manual release. but when fly high it's hard to see ground targets I just have to trust my instruments.

The reason for this thread is to show ppl how it works.

As far which way is easier for the individual is matter of personal prefference.

 

I can do both manual single/multiple and automatic single/multiple.

 

Once again this thread is more of a guide on how to activate carpet bombing.

Well maybe mines messed up because I can stop it, infact I did it again today just to be sure. What I do first is line up on target, hold a for the auto drop, make sure it's set for multi, when I drop say 3-5 bombs I either select a new target or change weapons quickly and it stops the bomb drops, leaving me with plenty of bombs, oh and the green dumb fall cluster bombs are nasty, today I took out 4 bradlys with just one just to see how good they are, and they are alot better than the white ones (I dont recall the types or i'd inform you) and I'm sure the guided cluster bomb is the same as the green non-guided in impact destruction. And since no-one else seemed to notice this i figured i'd send the info yalls way, maybe it only works with the auto drop feature *shrugs* :P
