Re: XBOX 360 video output problem
Mine finnaly kicked the bucket. Got the E74 error. Its funny how I called months earlier saying i had a video prob and they told me to replace the cable or pay $99 to get it fixed. Now i got E74 and a free repair. My Wii, Gamecube, PS2, NES, and even the original Xbox never had this problem...

Re: XBOX 360 video output problem
I never even knew this a reacurring problem until the same thing happened to my newphew's xbox360.  At first I deleted all of his downloads, thinking they were causing the issue.  Bad idea!  Even though I had another hour's worth of Gears of War 2, the picture discolration came right back.  The oldest post about this goes way back to 2007, and Microsoft still won't admit it's their own faulty video card!  They rather collect $99 a pop and pretend we each are the lone exception and the first time this has happened to their top of the line product.  Get a clue Microsoft!  You may think you own the monopoly on EVERYTHING, but everyday you lose more consumers with your lousy products and customer service!  The next commercial that'll be on TV will go:

"Hello, I'm a PS3!"

"Oh, hi! I'm a XBOX"!Angry [:@]

Re: XBOX 360 video output problem

This is extremely similar to what I've been experiencing. I posted a forum with sync issues and had 20 reads, and this guy has over 1000 replies.

My original post was:

"Since the last firmware update, I have run into video issues. This update installed on Thursday night and I have been unable to use my Xbox since then. It doesn't seem to matter what game I use, whether it’s on the HDD or off of a DVD. I can confirm that 3 of my 10 games on disc do not work and 2 of 12 HDD games do not work. They will start to play normal, and then about 2 minutes in I have what looks to be like video convergence issues.

I have called technical support and they said that there is no way that software can do that and that software upgrades are made to enhance how the Xbox performs. I followed their trouble shooting steps and they told me and this is really upsetting 1) you should have probably purchased a PS3. 2) We can fix it, but you're going to have to pay the equivalent of a brand new Xbox.

The thing that is aggravating other than being told my technical support that I should have purchased a competitive product is that it is fixable but I have to pay for it. The Xbox worked perfectly fine prior to the software 'patch' that makes everything work 'correctly'."

When I called M$, they told me that it isn't covered under the extended warranty and that I would have to pay for the repair. Not that it couldn't be fixed, that I would have to pay. Then in the same breath, they told me it was not able to be repaired.

Here are pictures of what mine is doing:

Re: XBOX 360 video output problem
I'm not sure yet, but I think my problem is similar to this. Was playing MW2 last night when the video went all messed up, like grainy, over saturation and flickering a lot. After I restarted the console I don't get any video signal at all

Can anyone confirm this is the same problem?
