Signed, although I can't believe it takes an online petition to try to force Microsoft to fix a product that they have an obligation (under UK law) to be fit for the purpose they have sold it for.

Surely there must be a way to bring about legal action, this is ridiculous.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
Yeah, I am having the same problem with both my G15 and my Razer Copperhead.  It's as if microsoft doesn't want us to use any gaming peripherals except their own.

I have to unplug my keyboard and mouse and boot up into windows to get my controllers to sync.  As soon as I plug one of them in, the controllers lose sync and I have to reboot windows to get my mouse to work.  What a pain in the ***.  I sure hope someone finds a quick soon before I take this piece of crap back.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
Here's my system setup
1 Wired xbox Controller
1 Wireless xbox Controller
1 MS Laser Desktop 6000
MB: Asus A8N-SLI
Proc: Intel E6600 c2d
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit

I bought the xbox 360 wired controller earlier and never had a problem. Now I thought I'd pair it up with the wireless. It wouldn't work. Those 4 lights kept blinking. Anyhow, I tried reinstalling the drivers, even reinstalled the drivers for the Laser Desktop, and even the latest nforce drivers; in the end it only now works with the wired 360 controller unplugged :( . I went so far as to install the xbcd drivers for the wired controller, didnt fix the issue with the wireless.

This has pissed me off.. I'm gonna stick to Logitech gaming stuff from now on if only this is the level of progress that has been made in 2 months since the release of the wireless receiver. Since I'm stuck with this now, any word on a driver update from MS anytime soon... thank God I didnt get the xbox 360.. PS3 here I come!

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems

Hi guys- really need help!!!

Ive been on live now for around three weeks and everythings been fine.........up until 3 days ago. Im connected via a wireless router and for some reason the connection between the router and 360 isn't working. It worked fine one night and then the following morning the red light appeared on the wirless adapter. Ive tried everything i can think of- got in touch with bt and the routers definatly compatible called xbox customer services but they couldn't really help. Its fustrating because the routers working fine and so is the xbox- until i try to go online. Ive even taken the the wireless adapter back to the store and exchanged for another one but still the same problems occur.

please!!! help me get connected again before i loose my mind!!!!!!!!!!   :(

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
This thing seriously needs an updated driver. I am now having an issue where the right stick is constantly going down and to the left, when I move it only the corners work with no analogue, it never aligns in the dead center. And the thing is, this DOESN'T HAPPEN FOR A SECOND CONTROLLER THAT IS CONNECTED. Whatever controller is designated as Controller #2, the right stick functions fine, so it's not a hardware issue. I'm observing all of this in the program xpadder. Hopefully I manage to fix this because I had it working fine before. I have installed a thrustmaster joystick since recently. though I have unplugged it.

Still no updated driver?

I can get it to install and work with the gamepad but force feedback (still) doesn't work with the wheel!

I cannot believe they haven't done anything by now. It's got to be a problem with the hardware that cannot be fixed via a driver now. No such company would ignore a big problem like this without any sort of corispondance.

I figured 3 months not touching this that something would have changed but nope nothing has. Did I miss the part where Halo 2 comes out in 3 days and we still don't have working software to chat (wireless mic) or do anything else. I'm sorry MS but this is pathtic and if I don't see a fix soon there will be some contact with the BBB.

FU** I wish I would have found this thread before I wasted 20$ on this useless POS.

I just bought this thing yesterday and have struggled with the receiver for 5hrs+

I am a Network engineer with 13+ years in the PC Hardware/IT field, and I can not make it work.

If i do the reboot it works 1 out of every 20 times, which is UNACCEPTABLE. I'm trying to use it in an HTPC and that just won't work out.

This makes me remember why I hate Microsoft, Atleast I got my XboX360 used for 75$ so I won't feel bad when I burn it.

F-U MICROSOFT. Now I remember Why I steered so many potential customers of yours towards Mac or Linux. My crusade has now found new life with the advent of an elementary device such as this, that does not work and is not being properly supported.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems

My brother in law got his to work by getting a USB hub and hooking it through there. He has a bluetooth receiver that was orignally on the same "hub" and if that was unplugged it would work fine. I think the solution is to get a usb hub until MS fixes it. He is running Vista 32 bit.

Me on the other hand works great on my MCE PC.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
I also got it to work. here is a generic break down of what the issue is.

The Xbox360 Wireless receiver device is very poorly made, thought out, and designed. When it is plugged into your PC it will probably not work (Even if you follow the directions)

Here are things that make it work:

1) buy a USB hub that is externally powered, and plug the device into it (ugly/janky fix)
2)Buy an additional USB controller card for your computer, install the card and hook the receiver up to that card (jankey, but less ugly)
3)Don't use any other USB devices on the same USB Bus as the receiver, (this should make it work as well, but WTF are we supposed to do about our gaming mice?)

Thanks again Microsoft! This can go along with the Zune, windowsME, security vulnerabilities in every MS OS, in the basket of MS garbage.

hope this helps some of you out there who have also been robbed by MS: an OS by MS, Drivers by MS, a Receiver by MS, and a controller by MS=and it doesn't work?

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
Wow, Microsoft should be ashamed.  They constantly cut corners when producing products, and then we, the consumer, are forced to deal with them.  Microsoft should be producing products that actually work as they were intended.  The 360 should not explode from normal use, and the wireless adapter should work with all setups, expecially ones running operating systems designed by Microsoft.  You would expect that a company with such financial support would be able to invest in quality product research.  Microsoft's customer service is crap, and now their products are reflecting it.  Sign the petition.  Don't stop whining to Microsoft, maybe, maybe we'll have some affect on them.  This is an example of money sending a company to heck.  It's a shame, really.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems

I had the same problem with my mouse freezing and the receiver not syncing completely with the gamepad.

Following some advice i saw in this thread "plugging in through a USB hub". In this case I just used the hub in my LCD panel using that to plug in my receiver and everything works great.

Mine doesn't work even if I hook it up to my LCD usb ports.  I can't believe it is approaching June and still no word from Microsoft about this.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
Just putting in my notes of success.

I was unable to get my receiver working on Windows XP with Service Pack 2.  I went out and bought a powered USB hub and by plugging only the receiver into it, I got it working.

As far as I can tell with these results it looks as though this is a manufacturing flaw with either the receiver or the power it requires to power itself.  As long as you are using a powered USB hub it should work, hence the problems when other USB devices are plugged in people start to encounter problems.

Don't take this as fact but I encourage people to try it and let us know the results.

Re: xbox 360 wireless gaming receiver problems
How do I completely uninstall these drivers? Thought I uninstalled them through the start menu but it continues to work as if it's installed. I have a feeling a reinstall will fix my issues with the right stick being constantly pressed one direction. Odd thing is, the right stick works fine in the new Tomb Raider: Anniversary since it seems to have a premapped setup for the 360 controller.. Most other things though, including xpadder, have a completely messed up right stick.
