Clearly the solution to "uncontrollable chaos" is uncontrollable thread deletion.

Although I understand why it must be done, that does not mean I can not, dislike it. And I also feel as tho the power is misued, and when that happens, thats where I come in.

Embrace your insignificance my friend. Just remeber, There are more stars then that of all the humans that were ever born on this earth. Or that there are more starts then that of every single word ever uttered by every single human ever born. Or maybe its the fact that out of all the matter in the universe you know, the classic type matter(protons electrons neutrons) it is theroretically less then 10 percent of what is really out there.

So not only do we live in such an insignificant glaxay in a insignificant solar system on an insignificant planet in an even more insignificant body, the universe we can't even comprehend in our minds now, is actually by a factor of 10 smaller then what is actually out there. Have a happy day :).

That does work to a certain extent but blaming these forums for fascism is taking it way over the top. You can try first amendment even in real life and when you take it too far, you'll simply be taken away. Use these forums to discuss Xbox and Xbox community -related matters in a civil and constructive fashion and everything is cool. Go to extremes and it's not. Even if you think anything negative said is censored, just take a better look at these forums - I can challenge you to a match of finding 50 "negative but still well-worded enough to avoid deletion" posts older than two weeks in the shortest time possible. In other words, why not enjoy the ride as-is? Even if the only thing lacking would be the non-presence of moderation then it's still a godsend for most regulars visitors.

Free speech is all fine and dandy, but it's hateful speech that i'm against. I see posts or threads where someone is downright hurtful to someone else then it's gonna get deleted, there's no need for posts like that. I'm not saying that anyone here has done it, but I have seen it and will not tolorate it.

Though for myself, I do my best to give a detailed reason in the email sent to the person who's thread was deleted.

This is all quite "off-topic", but I never was much for such logic.

Re: Why your threads get locked, deleted, moved etc?
I still think thats it's wrong of Mod's to lock/move/delete posts with no explanation.  I've had a number of threads deleted for the simply fact that they were shedding a negative light on MS.   Regardless of the fact that they were legitimate posts with links to pertinent and more importantly true information.

It's those cases that really make me mad because I am not breaking any TOS.  I'm posting info about the xbox 360 on the 360 board.  It's not off topic and as far as I can see there is no rule that you can't post negative news.   It's those cases that a mod/MVP abuses his/her power.  MS shouldn't delete posts because it's embarrassing news and they are ashamed of it.  If MS is ashamed of certain news then they should use it as feedback and try to improve the situation.

Perfect example is all the people that were punished by CUL Demotions, Bans, etc for MS terrible build quality of their system.   MOD's/MVP's were in full damage control for a year and half deleting away and then one day Mr. Moore writes a letter appoligizing, admitting MS mistakes, and thanks the community for their feedback.

A lot of Mod's/MVP's sitting there with a red face to stubborn to appoligize to the community they punished because 2/3/9/10 of their systems broke.

Take out the paper and the trash, or you wont get no spending cash!!!!!

Ah, it's nothing personal whatsoever and I fully agree that we can say whatever we want. Still, it doesn't mean we wouldn't be accountable for what we say, even if we played the good old freedom of speech card.

From what I have seen, those threads don't tend to get locked or deleted before they fall badly off-topic and/or people start digging out their pitchforks, torches, scam claims, and expletive-ridden insults of every possible kind.

Thread starters have an unspoken responsibility of keeping their threads at least reasonably civil and as such, are expected to do a bit of social moderating themselves to keep their threads alive. When trolls and flamers take over, it often ends with a lock.

I have seen many decent threads, even those not shedding any negative light on MS, come to an end because of lovely little forum trolls coming to feed on them. Same as with Live, there are always those who have their fun by ruining the enjoyment of others. The next time a thread gets locked, pay close attention to its last few posts. They often hold a vital clue in why the thread suffered the fate it did.

Lastly, neither moderators nor MVPs are employees of Microsoft so why on earth would they need to apologize for anything the company does?

Re: Why your threads get locked, deleted, moved etc?
That's a load of bull right there. I am almost certain right now that there are a ton of high CUL zombies on here who have every intent to actually derail a good thread so that ther friends, the mods, can lock it. Same thing happened to the last "360 browser" thread I participated in.

Some very uninformed high CUL posters started spewing utter crap, and then lo and behold, the same mod who ignored all the off-topic posts in the thread at page 1 jumps in and posts a friendly little "[failure]this thread[/failure]" message before locking it.

Same thing with all the defective console threads. The mods should be ashamed of doing a pitifully substandard and loathful job a couple of months ago. I mean, Moore himself apologized, and THANKED the community for the feedback. You mods actually PREVENTED the community from passing on that feedback to Microsoft.

I think you all should ban yourselves and think about appointing better well-rounded successors if you truly cared about the community. But that's not gonna happen, because ego is a b i t c h.

Also, I laugh AT the who challenged someone to find threads that were civil, yet were deleted. How the blue moon am I to find them?

Also, it's funny that the mods on here maintain a separate forum for themselves off of Microsoft's server to decide who to ban next.

Seriously, fire yourselves. You hate the community, and you delayed our free console repairs.

i believe that thread had failed on a number of accounts including 1) its purpose had been served 2) you and P0s were just spewing back and forth etc 3) wasn't really adding much beyond a place to enact your grudges.

and just some food for thought for ya....people's threads get locked and deleted.  that's just the way it is.  it doesn't mean there's a conspiracy.  if these threads were all hauled off into no man's land like you say..then how was Peter Moore able to so-called respond to the community cries if all the threads of their cries were deleted?

there is no conspiracy.  things get locked for the most part for all the reaons i stated in the initial post.  there's a topic on it already, it's the same user comlaining about the same thing over and over, wrong forum, duplicate subject etc.

research it.  10/10 times you'll know this to be true.
