Did we ever decide which night was better than the other for everyone?  We should probably make this decision so we can know what to plan around.

Gears and Shadowrun have been my only realy online vs. games.  I am actually looking forward to the Co-op more than the MP vs.

Friday works better for me.  We have both set up on Dav's site.  I was thinking that Friday could be vs. and Saturday could be co-op or vs.  Either way, I'm hoping for an earlier start time that 12 EST this go round.  We have a large number of gamers signed up, and I doubt we'll all make it both nights.  Perhaps we set a start time, and whoever is on gets a game invite from the host.  Which is the next point...who's going to host?  lostassassin's connection was good for our Gears night, any objections to hosting again?

I don't have any necessary objections to hosting again, but I don't know how long I will be on (I have a programming assignment due this week, depends on how far I get during the week).  I have been having some weird connection problems, but I think I got them all straightened out (I haven't had any hiccups since 2 weekends ago).

Well H3 not incorparate the same system as H2? Start a game and it looks for the person with the best connection and makes them host, when the host drops out it looks for the person with the best connection out of the people remaining?

Not sure, I did not realize that Halo 2 used that since I have never played it other than local multiplayer.

Does Richard Dean Anderson have some kind of connection to Halo that I am not aware about, or was Ireland just looking for a reason to get a has-been out there?

^ Now that was an obscure reference.

From bungie.net

Our playlists are broken into two broad categories.

Ranked Playlists

Ranked Playlists are for the player who wants to test his and his team’s mettle in a straight up competitive game. These playlists are sport-like in that they are tightly focused—you won’t have the rug pulled out from under you by an unexpected game of Hamster Crack. You will know what to expect, and over time, become versed in the nuance of your preferred playlist’s maps and games.

In addition, enemy player voice is disabled in game in Ranked Playlists. This is because these playlists are about the contest, and not about being Chatty Mc Chatterson. Some people love the art of trash talking above all else—there is a home for you, but it isn’t a Ranked Playlist. The scoreboard does all of the trash talking here.

This seems to cater to the "casual" gamer such as myself.  I've got to say that I really like what Bungie is doing here.

Re: Gamerparents 2.0

Well the day has finally arrived. At 12 tonight I will be picking up my copy of Halo 3. At 12:45 I will begin playing with 3 of my friends through the campaign and hope to finish at 12 noon tomorrow. I want to aviod spoilers while playing online or in any of the forums. Today is the wife's birthday but she woke up mad at me because people were calling her too early in the morning. I mean she didn't even hear the phone she slept right through it. I just said your phone gets on my nerves and she got mad at me. I don't understand women. Now she won't even talk to me and I was going to take her out for her b-day. Either way now it's raining like it's about to flood outside.

Whenever it stops i'll be going to sams club to get a case of monsters or red bulls. Anyone ever notice it says only consume (I think) 3 a day. I never knew that one day I drank 7 lol. I be up all night and all day tomorrow that way I can be super tired tomorrow night and go to sleep at 8 to wake up at 5 in the morning to go to work. After I play the SP the MP action will begin. I don't want to give the rest of the world a huge advantage over me.

Also after the game night we have set up I will be setting up a "Get to know Halo 3 night". Where those who want to get to know the maps and weapons by playing friendly matches can join. I pride my self in being great at MP games and want to help others get better also. So anyone who wants to perfect their skills can join and most of all have fun.

I will definitely be in for the Get to Know night.  I am not all that great at MP most of the time, but I want to improve and learn the maps.  Be sure to let us all know.

Do you have any buddies that can pick up the drinks and game for you?  I would suggest trying to get anyone to do this for you and just focus on her on her birthday.  My wife's birthday was on friday and she is normally a cool collected woman.  But with pregnancy comes the hormones, it might be worth your while to put off Halo ( if but for a few hours) and focus on her.  The benefits will last you a long time.  Just some friendly advice.  Despite your best efforts she may feel likeHalo 3 > her birthday even though she knows you don't feel that way too much prep for the former may lead her down that road.

She is cool now she is just sad because her family isn't here. She had a very sheltered childhood so she is a little soft. She is starting to get better though. We are complete opposites lol. She is cool with tonight just as long as I give her today (well until 11). All she wants is to go to dinner so that's what we are doing and then i'll give her the new 3.5 carat diamond ring I bought her that she doesn't know about

Great point.  Pregnancy is different each time and for each woman, so it should be handled cautiously each time.  They often feel ugly and unwanted, where as I found the opposite true.  My wife has never been more beautiful to me than when she was pregnant.  A little caution may go a long way.  I'm sure you can show her enough affection to still get to the Halo3 launch.  What I used to do on days like this was do the little extra stuff.  Ex. take a half day from work (not sure if you can) and go clean the house, or do the chore she hates the most.  Have a candle lit dinner ready, and tell her I wanted to have a special meal with her and enjoy the time of just the 2 of us.  Be creative and spoil her for a couple of hours, remember, it's not your wife that is upset with you, it's the pregnancy.

The only thing my wife does now is sleep. I take care of everything. I spoil her everyday but she still complains. I don't let her do any chores and if she wants anything i'll get it. We've talked and everything is cool. The points you made about the ugly and unwanted thing is so true. I tell her everyday that she is beautiful but she doesn't believe me. It's is very frustrating when she doesn't believe anything I say. 4 more moths. I can't wait until it's over so she can go back to being her old self.
