sry i take back what i said and i agree with microsoft putting old games and making them downloadable but remember guys this is microsoft NOT bungie. if bungie had any saying with this they Would definetly make every penny worthwhile. besides theres no point drinking  spoiled milk all you get is the horrible taste of spoiled milk. and i do think microsoft owes me something not just me everyone cause we all spended 300$ plus  on there service not mentioning that annoying spending of 7.00$ or 8.00$ on a 1 month or a 3 month subscription. either way microsoft wins cause still when i talk all there getting is money and thats whats important but i think what everyone is saying is that it would've been a smarter idea and more profitable idea if XBLive and Multiplayer were added but if you don't think about quality instead of the "quantidy" of money you'll get then all you get are sad xbox 360 onwners and if you don't care i don't so scruw you microsoft for not caring.

Microsoft is finally acknowledging that downloadable games are the future. BE GONE GAME DISCS, WE HAVE NO NEED FOR YOU!

Still, this is a little late for Microsoft. Nintendo has offered downloadable games on the Virtual Console ever since the Wii launched. And I think Sony is offering downloadable PSone games on the PS3.

Ugh, proper grammar please!

I hate the way Microsoft rapes it's customers for money. You need to pay $50 a year for online-multiplayer service, then on top of that pay for the overpriced content on Xbox Live Marketplace. At least Xbox Live Silver is free...

I'm glad Sony's online service is free. Sure, it's not as good as Xbox Live, but in a few years Sony can and will catch up to Xbox Live. Plus a majority of stuff on the PlayStation Store is free.

Re: Welcome!

Wow 60% of the people posting here want Halo:CE online, myself included. I personally along with I think most Halo fans would pay 60$(full price) for it, if it was updated. They spent the time to bring it to the PC already, why not port that version back over to the 360?

Anyways the main reason I'm posting here is because when I first read that Halo was coming to the arcade I assumed it was going to be online...my heart almost exploded. It was a dream come true, but wait no it's just the original, with 2-4 system link(is this right should be 2-16 right?). What's the point? Who doesn't already own the original? I mean you can go buyy it new from Bestbuy for 10$.

Anyways I'm sure at least 100,000+ ppl would buy it for more that 15$ if it was updated, and I'm being modest (truly I think many more would buy it if it supported HD, widescreen, online, and achievments), it is after all the most ground breaking FPS console game EVER.

Re: Welcome!
so for $15 I get an old game that already has several known compatabilty issues, no achivements and doesn't utilized any of the functions of my my $400 dollar next gen console? And yet they will release Halo 2 on pc updated and with achivements? No I think I'll pass the least they could do is sell me a glitch and bug free product; what is the matter with you Microsoft?????

Re: Welcome!
Overall, i think it's a good idea. definitely, a boost in the "time to save for a 120GB or higher hard drive". I was thinking it was a good idea in the "i can't get this game anywhere." no sense in being b/c if you dont have a disc.

Personally, I have halo 1 and 360 says "unplayable disc". Luckily, my gf has a copy i can use. If i download it, then it would helpful in those times when i wanna co-op, or slayer, etc. via system link.

I think it would be kinda cool to have a icon in my recently played games list. or a generic "x" logo at least. or since it's a "xbox orignial" maybe X_O combination.

Re: Welcome!

I don't feel like reading through 6 pages of posts of people whining about the lack of Halo: CE online to maybe find my answer so I'll just ask:

Are all original xbox games going to eventually be available on this service?

I would pay for a download version of some stuff that is not yet backwards compatible.

chances are only games that are already BC are going to be the ones released on this service... they are basically just taking the information that would normally be read off of a disc and giving it to you through download... the emulations they already have for BC discs will then read that information that is on your HDD instead of from the disc. hope this helps

What you just said, Dave 88, is exactly the opposite of me. I will be paying 15 bucks (20, since I'm Canadian.. grrr) for Halo AGAIN, because it's totally rad. I don't want an Xbox disc, and if I can play this while chatting that'd be a welcome bonus.

Trix, can we still use our 360 Live account features like chat and messages while playing these titles?

they did an interview with gamespot and said that the downloads will be EXACTLY  like using a disc. so no xbox guide functionality or chatting. no updates on the game, nothing added in any way. and to top it off they will have all the same known issues (framerate, ghosting, glitches) as the disc game. all in all if you own halo ce on disc no point in paying $15($20) for the EXACT same game you have. here's a link to the interview:

But, if it doesn't then, what good is it?  I already have Halo CE for XBOX.

Re: Welcome!
I have to say this is a very nice service. I would definitely be buying Halo: Conbat Evolved no matter what when it comes out.

But it is dissapointing that the Xbox Classics are not being treated as arcade games. Online gameplay and achievements would have attracted alot of customers. I already own all the game scheduled to come out on the 4th and I am personally not willing to pay for somethings I already own again. The only reason I am getting Halo is because I am a major Halo fan.

Also I noticed alot of the demos are 1 to 2 gigabytes in size. I cannot start to imagine how big a full Xbox game would be, I'm not about to buy a 120 Gb harddrive just to play one game.

Re: Welcome!
Well the facts are this it's just totaly pointless, theirs only 2 things from my opinion gamers want in the 360 world and that is new experiences and most of all, online play!!!They pay 50$ every 13 months just to do so, so tell me why anyone it their right mind would fork out more money than they have to knowing they will get the same old stuff. Now come on MS your better than Playstation or that blasted  Nentendo, you dont have to steal Nentendo's idea of downloading old crapy low res. games that have no new spark to em I know the type of gamer who play those games just too play em but trust me MS your only aiming this at a small market of people thats why my choice was 360 in the first place along with the first two facts. Basicly not adding the things that make xbox great such as acheivments and MP and see all the nagitive post's that state clearly their disapointed go's to show MS goofed up. most likely sells are going to be very low, I was looking forward to getting the MS points to buy this oh well. Oh and thanks for that free arcade game I forgot how to spell it Carsonne???Well also congrats on the 5th aniversary keep up the good work your loyal costumer Forsaken Raider.Cant wait for GOW2.

The main reason why Halo: CE was such a huge hit was the multiplayer, not adding live functionality to a game that launched xbox's success is rediculous. Microsoft is just shooting themselves in the foot with this one.

Messing with a disk? It takes less than a minute to swap disks. Plus I'm willing to bet that a vast majority of xbox owners already have Halo: CE on a disk and don't need this.

Theres a reason that xbox live is better than sonys service and thats because our money that we give every year to xbox live probably goes right back into maintaining it just like how World of Warcraft costs money and Guild Wars doesnt which one of those is better. Blizzard has a great service because its "subscribers" pay for it to be kept updated and maintained to have the best online performence possible so just because we pay for it doesn't mean its no worth it. and even if sony catches up with xbox live. xbox live will be bigger and so much better cause the time it took sony to catch up Live is already way ahead yet again. anyway i'd rather pay for something thats better than to be stuck with a free service that is just a load of crap, and yes you're correct my grammer isn't at it's best tonight. It's kind of late.. so forgive me. : )

P.S. Woops i didnt click the Quote option s the one who said the tope 4 lines was FlukyNone so again sorry for the confusion

Subject goes here
Needs to be one of two things, specifically for Halo:
A fully compatible port, moving the game to 360 status, where the guide works, all notable glitches addressed, and achievements added.  Along with this, it wouldn't hurt to make 3rd party HDDs work with the 360, as if I'm going to buy something that I already own, and for that matter, most people with a 360 own, then why buy it just to take up more on my already undersized, overpriced drive?  For that matter, if I didn't own it, I could go out and buy the disc new and at the same price, just the same saving me money since it wouldn't take the space on my drive, eventually leading me to be required to buy a new one.

Otherwise, it should be updated, with all of the above features, plus Live support, and new maps (namely the PC exclusives and maybe some user-created maps).  At the very least when it gets to a point where I need a new HDD, then I'll feel like I'm getting a little of my money's worth, even when I am forced to buy Microsoft's non-competively priced drive.

Simply put, lack of these puts the consumer in a position where it's relatively illogical to buy into this.
