Good looking out JWspeed.  Good looking out for everyone on here with the temp testing you've been doing.  I can't wait for my refurb to die.  LOL!!! Yeah I will pick up the TS model.  I have the EX on my refurb right now.  Once my refurb dies hopefully it will last me a year, by then Jaspers will be plentiful.  Next system no doubt will be HDMI.  Once I get that I will be upgrading to a Pioneer HDMI Switching A/V Receiver.  Then my Directv and 360 will be running 1080p 24hz!!!

I thought the 360 only supported up to 720p resolution or am i mistaken?

I am sure the Pro stock has been filled with the left-over Arcade (sans-MU) stock, but as soon as the warehouse burns through that, the Pro version will see the Jasper units on shelves.  That said, there's a very strong possibility that the Elite version will see the Jasper update before the Pro model, at least, on store shelves.

I bought a Pro Jasper 2 days ago. Team CSON, Lot 842X, date on back is 10/18/08. Has 12.1A on the back and the power socket matches the jasper with the split line on the top.

I don't even want to hear about the Xbox 720 for at least another year. They haven't even gotten 360 right and you want the 720?

Not to mention there's still plenty of games out I haven't played and plenty more to come in the next 4 years before 720.

Actually this may be the best time to discuss the 720. I think I would like to make it clear to Microsoft that I wont buy a 720 if its another loud hot leaf blower.

There is no confirmation (not that I've read) what the HDD Pro/Elite xBs are displaying regarding the 256-mem. Can you please post back: 1.) Remove the HDD, 2.) What is displaying on System – Memory.

Are you guys buying units and hoping for Jasper, or is there any way of telling before you open the box?

My Samsung LED DLP actually runs 1080p@60hz without HDMI and using component.  If I had it connected HDMI though I could do 1080p@24hz which I will do when I get a jasper/valhalla a year or so down the road.  Also want to get a new A/V reciever.

Yeah please what he said remove the hard drive and go in and see what the system memory says.

I am also wondering if this 256 on board memory will hold more title updates to the system?

Don't worry buddy if it says 12.1 like you say next to the serial number you are good to go.  You got a Jasper man!!!  They are just shipping out the 175w psu.  Once they get rid of all of those the psu for all consoles should be 150w later on when they get rid of the 175w ones.

Rockin you will have to go to the System options section under console settings.  Like once in console settings. find where is says system info.  I think it is somewhere in there. Maybe somewhere else.  Can someone tell him where to look.

Agreed.
When you remove the HDD on Falcon, it will display no MU/HDD something of the sort (or just a blank screen IIRC). It'll be interesting to find if Jasper "hides" (through hard firmware) this item when a HDD is installed or thereafter.

Hey for people who are finding Jasper 360's, where are you finding them? Best Buy, Walmart, Target?  I know my Best buy has them but I think they are stacked up really high on the shelves and not on the floor.

You and me both agree on that one. No more half-baked designs that turn into junk within a year.

This chip is right next to the HDD connector, but I haven't seen a PRO opened up to check, but I do know the PRO doesn't have the memory show up.

First, remove the HDD from the xbox.

Then power it on.

Now go to your system settings box under MY XBOX if you have NXE and press A. If not, go to the last blade on the right which will be purple. Select Memory, Press A. Now you should be a listing for a MU where your HDD was, if you don't that's okay. We're just curious if it's there or not.

Yep, That's it alright. 2GB too. I think they're probably using this chip as the MU on the arcade versions. They probably disable the capability with software when they mfg the Pros and Elites. Wouldn't be hard to do.

I'm sure they're using it as the MU.  Anyone who opens up the PRO should take a picture of this chip for me and then we'll know by the marks on it if it's the smaller version.

Exactly.
It would be asinine (which MS isn’t exempt from) from a mfg line standpoint to have a Pro/Elite board distinct from an Arcade, unless the Pro/Elite cannot be played without a HDD (which is not the case).

They wouldn't go to the expense of having two different mfg lines for motherboards. They haven't done it before, I doubt they would now.

I do wonder how they made the Opus motherboard but that was most likely done in equipment designed for rework.

If you look at the very bottom of the arcade boxes in fine print, you will find it talks about memory the ones with the internal memory start with 256 meg.the old ones just say something about memory.i know i am right cause those boxes are also lot 0843X,wich have been proven jaspers.the dates are also 10 22 and 10 23.

Well those without HDMI are getting Opus motherboards which is Falcon without HDMI. Those with HDMI are getting Falcons back to the best of my knowledge. You'll get back what you gave them otherwise it's breach of contract and you can sue.
