This is just about the most frustrating, ignorant thing ever. They could atleast give you tutorial or practice for this thing.

I have no clue how dropping bombs work. Yes, I know how to bring up the bomb weapon, I just have no clue how to properly line up the ground targets to drop them. I drop them right over them, don't hit. I drop them with them in the top crosshair, don't hit. Drop them with the bottom crosshair, don't hit.

did you post this on gamefaqs to? ill give the same reply i did there

un guided bombs are only good against stainionary targets. its just a matter of lining up the pipper and dropping. for guided hold down A the target will go all wierd, a long line just fly toward the target keeping it on that line and when its right the bomb will drop itself and use its guidance. its take a while to get used to but it does work, against moving targets i get around 9 out of 10 hits.

or just load up on AGMS, theyre so much better

after you select your plane (which i think you only have one right now) go to "custum" then select from the various weapons you can equip on your plane

And remember, too, that if your target "dissapears" out of the view of your HUD, then you can "look" down with the controller without dipping the nose of the plane.  (right stick down)  It brings the target icon back into view  so that you can align the pipper (the circle with the dot in the center) onto the diamond shaped target icon.  Once you got those two things lined up on top of one another, let 'em fly.   If you "look" down, you can drop bombs while climbing.   It feels kind of feeble with the controller, but it helps because you can drop bombs from farther away.

I'm having the same problem, tho i'm on scenario 4 tactical mission 1. I reach the target and drop the guided bombs but they never destroy what i'm supposed to destroy so what i am doing wrong or what am i supposed to do to hit the targets??

Any fool can work out that a 1500kg guided bomb carries as much power as God himself. All the other bombs are in lbs, do the maths, that's 3306.9lbs, more than 50% bigger than all the others. Clever to display it in kg though as most people will see 1500kg and then go for a plane with 2000lb bombs instead.

 

Although the F-35B is a pretty evil little machine with a full payload.

P.S.: To stay on topic, the F-22A can carry 10,000lbs of bombs. You can have four 2000lb bombs on the wings and either 4 250lb bombs or 2 1000lb bombs in the weapon bay.

Su-33's 15,000 lbs. > F-22A's 10,000 lbs.  It's 8 250 lb. bombs by the way.
