For $5 they managed to give me Doom on the harddrive with achievements and multiplayer.  Why they cant do that for Halo at $15 boggles the mind.  How hard could it be to turn LAN support into WAN support?

Not sure if anyone replied to this because I didn't feel like looking through everything but..

Its actually incredibly hard.
All the packets being sent in Halo: CE are massive, thats why even doing 2v2 on XBC would often lag.
They would have to completely rebuild the multiplayer.
Its not as easy as it seems.

I don't check the forums, so I won't see any replies.
But those are the facts.

All I have to say is Psychonauts.

I lent it out to my friend along time ago and he ended taking it to the UK when he moved. Now I can download it instead of flighting out there to get it back. I wonder if Phantom Dust is getting released... god I love that game.

Well, aparently MS doesn't realize that this online service already exists and sells its games for WAY cheaper....its called Ebay!!!!  This is such a joke and a waste of time.  Its bad enough they get $50 a year from me, Ill be damned if Im gonna give them another 1200 points worth for stuff I ALREADY own with no improvements.  They "improve" gaylo 2 and gaylo 3 by adding map packs.  Why not give people what they want, and put Halo 1 on Live?  You could make a lot of money, and make a lot of people happy.  But, I guess thats too much to ask.

Re: Welcome!

Then why not just use the Halo that gearbox helped bungie make when they were doing Halo 2. It'd make more sence to use something that already exists than not. Halo PC was a realy great game when ran on an uper class PC and with Highspeed internet. They wouldnt realy have to do much else than contact gamespy and use its port like the PC version did. Achivements wouldnt take much work either since they'd just have to have the Xbox do what it already does and watch the code and when the player finishes a level give them some gamer score and a little picture.

Seriously Microsoft...we want multiplayer...

yo....

i really wish that halo 1 CE for download would have online multiplayer

if this game had online MP, then it would be insane better than alot of the games out there even for 360.

and about 20 other million people would as well.

by the way.......

canadian dollar is worth more than the usd and yea.... we pay less than we used to..... since our dollar is just a little bit above the usd our prices are very similar (ours are less)

Re: Welcome!

seams to  me that ''MS'' is trying to copy ''Sony'' here!!!! by being able to download full games to the system!!!

how ever i think it will  fale, and not many will buy these games over on xbox live, if there is no update's and achievments to obtain!!! i for one will buy the box versions @ gamestop aka eb games.....i would onily guess

that most will be doing the same ,since there is no update, and achievments for the older games!!! i would be nice though for them to include this ,other wise its copying ''sony''

Re: Welcome!

I think Xbox Originals is a great idea, but what could make it better than Nintendo's Virtual Console and also top Sony's idea, is to bring Dreamcast classics to Xbox Originals. (Although they'd need a name change). I'm sure a lot more people would jump on the band-wagon for this idea. You could play classics like: Shenmue, Jet Set Radio etc. many games which sequel's ended up on the Original Xbox. Most people didn't get to play the originals and this would offer them the chance to. So in conclusion, Microsoft please create Xbox/Dreamcast Originals!

How do I find the Xbox 360 update for version 1.0 when my system has a higher version than 1.0? Help!

My 360 got th three red lights....if it doesnt get fixed or replaced microsoft suck and i will convert..

I agree with ShazBo.  I will be forking up 1200 points for Psychonauts on Dec 4th.  Average selling price with shipping for a used copy on eBay is around $15.  This is a game I've always wanted to play, but never got around to purchasing a copy.

I can also see this being a nice benefit for some of the other titles that are hard to come by that are on the BC list.  Marvel vs. Capcom 2 generally sells for about $50 on eBay.  I love the idea of being able to download it for $15.

Download the image here:

Burn it to disc and then put that disc into the 360.  That should fix the issue you're having.

Re: Welcome!
Microsoft has something going here. It's a good idea (as can be seen by its success in other areas) but Microsoft needs to add that little kick by going back and improving upon those old games. Add guide functionality (probably already doing that), give us widescreen and HD support, implement achievements, give us online play for multiplayer hits such as Halo: CE, and maybe add a couple new levels for multiplayer in old games.

If Microsoft simply added achievements, they'd boost sales ten-fold I assume and by adding online multiplayer to old games such as Halo: CE, sales would probably be out the roof. So far, not a bad idea but needs major improvement, especially since they've had a long time since July to get out this next update.

WE WANT ACHIEVEMENTS AND ONLINE MULTIPLAYER!!!

I agree entirely with NeoRatt.  I would easily fork over the dough if Microsoft threw in achievements for some of my old favorites.  It would be a great reason to replay some classics.  If the only benefit is not having "to mess with a disc," I'll pass.

Phantom Dust is my favorite original Xbox game of all time, but even I would have trouble justifying 1200 points for it when it's available at almost every GameStop in America for $4.99.

Time for MS to make complete Prince of Persia series playable on 360!!!!
Please will Microsoft team do something about making rest of the Prince of Persia series (i.e. Warrior Within and The Two Thrones) available for XBO360. Sony is already providing full support for this classic series on its PS3. Now its time for Microsoft to do the same. I hope in December 4's upgradation we will be getting full support for this epic classic.

What sort of file size will these be? Will there be any performance improvements over the previous Backwards Compatibility versions? (ie Halo has framerate issues, especially in splitscreen mode).

This service is definitely a very nice, unexpected surprise, and the pricing is nicely modest too, which is good. Fable and Psychonauts are my definite purchases at the moment... I heard Fahrenheit mentioned on another website too. I hope that comes :)

Thanks

Yea, thats what im wondering too. I could only about 9 GB of free space if i delete all my demos..I dont have a fancy new 120 GB hard drive.
