CHEFS, are there going to be country teams, in MP, which limit your choice of weaponry/perks etc? Thats a thing I liked about CoD3...knowing what weapons I would be up against.

In Australia from 10th Nov - 8th Jan :-D

I liked it that way too.  Plus, if you wanted to get a hold of a certain weapon that was from the other side, there were always plenty laying around. So it wasnt really a big deal if you got auto-assigned to the team you didnt want. It worked well in 3 and I hope they do something similar in WaW.

I think I have found me a new friend sir, we share the same exact thoughts. You know the reason they're bringing martyrdom and juggernaut back is because they think that's the only way they can get people of COD4. And since 98% of the people on COD4 use either martyrdom or juggernaut they know that people will switch over. I mean, do they honestly think their game will suck that bad if they don't bring back those stupid perks? This game WILL get old just like COD4 did, and I hate to say that because it's made by Treyarch.

I hear you, Gator26.  I hope we're both wrong, but I see that as a huge possibility.  The overwhelming amount of posts I've seen about martyrdom (the perk I hate) and juggernaut is that people hate both.

With that you'd think Treyarch could copy COD4 a little less and listen to the consumers who think such perks stink and shelve them.

It's as if in their minds COD4 to a majority of the consumers is perfect and if they don't copy all of its design elements 100 percent the COD4 groupies won't buy it.  I agree to an extent, but that doesn't mean you have to bring the crap from the game, also.  It's far from perfect.

if it were my decision... i'd rip out perks and kill streak bonuses all together. keep it to where perks resided in concrete classes. because even though COD4 allowed for people to choose their own perks, most people used the same perks for the same purposes... idk though

I havn't posted in a while, it's been a long weekened lol. But yeah I'm with you, just get rid of all of them.

Man I haven't been so excited about a game release ever, COD3 was the first game I played on Live and although I've been sidetracked by COD4 for a while I still dip into 3 now and again in the hope of one of those hour long games someone else mentioned a while back in this thread.  I love 3, and I can't understand all the bad mentions it gets and I'm delighted that 5's going back to WW2, bring it on I say!!

I love 3 as well.  As of late I have been playing nothing but that.  I have to clear some people of my FL but if you want to get some games in,  I'll shoot an invite your way.

Used to enjoy all the older war games like: sniper elite, MOH(original) and the conflict series but then Denied op's killed that too! see what I mean new games coming out have reali good graphics but the gameplay is terrible! used to be other way round!

Special thanks go to JD 2020, Sparky, and Treyarch Studios for the wonderful experience.  Please note, even though I utilized Sparky's content, I agree with his impressions of the game which is why I used it - he saved me hours of writing as you can see.

I thoroughly enjoyed your impressions as I feel like one of the few who is actually glad that Treyarch are making this incarnation of COD.

But Stuka was the best known ground attack / dive bomber, Messerschmitt was mostly known for fighter planes.

Both planes were more than capable of bombing, but you are correct.

When Bond and COD: WAW release, there's gonna be a lot of kids eating humble pie regarding their treatment of Treyarch.

What Treyarch achieved with COD3 - given the timeframes involved - was nothing short of incredible.  Treyarch should be celebrated and not mocked.

People will see what they are capable of with the next COD, seeing as they've had a more realistic development time.

I dont get the bashing of Treyarch based on COD3.  It's more a case of somebody made a remark about Treyarch/COD3 and all the sheep children jumped on the bandwagon.  Anyone who played COD3 know's it had a few shortcomings but was still the best game of it's time.  The online aspect was excellent and it had a more mature community.  Maybe thats what annoys the brats about COD3, their talk of noobs, nubs fails, ethnic slurs etc fell on deaf ears.

I cant wait for Treyarch to pull this out of the hat.  It's gonna be a great game and anyone who then says it isnt will only confirm their status of fanboy imbecile.

I've been waiting to hear any word on this too. I really hope they include it. Splitscreen multi-player was the biggest thing missing form COD 4 IMO.

Unlike other games when you kill somone they dont explode right after.

Ex. Gears Of War: You run up to somone and chainsaw them in half like you normally would. "Hahahha Yes I Merced You Nubs" "Thinkz Again" BOOM As you Jump With Glee The Notorius Gernade Stashed Under His Body Explodes Your Guy Into The Next Century.

Actually Gears2 will have martyrdom just in a different way. If u r downed while holding a grenade then u can detenate it when ever u want (like when there about to execute u. It kills both but is a lot more fair than mardyrdom in call of duty,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The MP builds off the COD4:MW model, so team assignment will not limit weapon choice to my knowledge (no concrete information on this however).

Sorry to hear that. Everything I'm hearing about WaW 'adopting' all these CoD4 structures is disappointing. I'll probably still buy it, but its not sounding like a game I could play for a year without getting bored. Treyarch and Activision should have stood firm in their design concepts...there wasnt anything majorly wrong with CoD3, apart from a bunch of IW-loving sheep bashing the cr@p out of it for no valid reason.

I disagree, as we know there were 100+ threads in the COD3 forums about team weapon balance, or lack thereof.  Depending on which side you were on, you were possibly either at an advantage or disadvantage depending on which kit you preferred.  For me, it was Light Assault and being on the Allied side was exponentially better - the Axis counter to the Thompson (for me) set off a burst of "warning shots" before hitting the intended target, and then wasn't nearly as accurate - especially at a distance.

As such, I prefer having all weapons available to all gamers to keep balance.  Or, that the sides have different named and skinned weapons, but the counterparts behave exactly the same (only difference is visual and title) - again, to maintain balance.  Just my opinion.

I do however much prefer a well implemented class system in any MP FPS Game...
