I'm glad I found this thread.....after my first two lockups, particularly the one at the very freakin' end, I felt so alone and abused.  It's good to know It's not just me.  That said, I don't know that there is any particular solution to this that will always work.  I first locked up at Chapter 4, crossing the bridge and jumping, and shooting.  The next try, I just didn't jump or shoot, and ran through.  Paid no attention to who I had killed before the water, plants, what character I had, anything like that.  It went fine.  Then last night, I did pretty much the exact same thing, and it locked up.

When you have points in games where this happens, it's usually a glitch that can't be contained by simply moving a character to a certain point on a map or killing a certain number of enemies.......clearing the cache is about the only thing that makes sense, and something I didn't realize you could do with the 360, so I may try it.  But I'll be damned if I'll sit around and play through all those levels 10-12 times just to hope I cna get lucky.  I'll give it 2 or 3 more shots, and as disappointing as it would be to not get 100%, I'll just have to wait.

Speaking of percentages though, a lot of you are stuck on 98-99%......I'm only at 83.3%.  I have all the minikits, all True Jedis, the only gold brick missing from the 3 stories is the Part VI Super Story.  I've finished Lego City as well.  But the door with Jabba (the Bounty Hunter missions?) is still locked......do I have to finish the Super Story to get access to that?  If not, what do I need to do to at least get to the point where the Super Story is the only thing left to get to 100%?  I have the 2X multiplier and about 4,000,000 studs, so I do want to work on getting all of those.

You need to unlock/buy all the Bounty Hunter characters, then the door will be unlocked. Have fun!

Ha!  I must have just one more to buy, but had been trying to save the rest of my studs to buy multipliers.  I'll go ahead and unlock that door, since I'm clearly going to run out of patience trying to get through an hour of playing the game without it breaking.  Not fun at all.  Such a shame to have a big glitch like that in an otherwise stellar game.

Well, 4 tries for me and still nothing.  The first time I was playing as Han blasting everything as I went and guess what, it froze on Endor...  Second time I was playing as Wicket and made it through but then froze coming out of the Death Star... Third time I was taking time with Han and being careful not to shoot and, ya...  This last time I was playing with C3P0, bloom at 1, no music, no rumble and... yep, it froze crossing the river. 

It's sad that this problem seems to exist on every forum that there is for this game and yet there hasn't been a legitimate patch to fix it.  I just sent an email to LucasArts tech service making sure I pointed out the threads on their own site, this site, GameFAQs, Achieve360Points and Xbox360Achievements.  I have also preempted their list of suggestions by letting them know that I've tried clearing the cache and have tried their 'use an old save' function.  Considering their canned responses are one of three things (wow, this is the first we've heard, clear the cache, or use an old save because yours is corrupted) I'll be interested to see how they respond. 

All I know is that after reading about this problem on so many sites, it seems that a number of people have had this game brick their entire system.  I don't know if I'm eager to try this anymore given that information...

Am I the only one that is desperately frustrated?

4 times today it froze on me. The first was at the cut scene in the second level of VI superstory after you blow those things up with the big gun and then 3 more on the river. This sucks. I'm at 97.7%.

I just got through the ep VI superstory. At the endor river I has music off and went over to the left with R2. When leaving the Death Star, I got killed a bunch and only shot what I had to to get by. For the Death Star I had music and vibration off.

I am thinking of printing out these messages, wiping my *** with them next time I have a dump and mailing it to Lucasarts.  I am not so bothered about the bug but the fact they know and are blatantly ignoring it.  I won't buy another Lucasarts game until it has been 'tested' for a few months after release by their loyal customers.  Plus I'll pick it up cheaper too.

 

 

I was loving this game played it everyday for 2 weeks straight and then i encounted this freaking bug and after having it freeze on countless occasions I’ve just given up for now anyway i too have shelved this game >.> all those hours i spent collecting stuff to get that 100% and for what GRR!!!

For anybody interested in contacting LucasArts, I'm beginning to think that it's a waste of your time and energy.  Not only are the replies that other folks have received just canned responses, but their whole 'We'll get back to you in 48 hours' thing is just untrue.  I logged my issue a week ago and still haven't heard word one.  Nice customer 'service' huh?

Would using a memory card instead of the hard drive perhaps help?  I've been thinking of picking up a  memory card for game saves for this reason.

If I saved the game on the memory card, would I have to remove the HDD to avoid the freeze?

Add 1 more that glitched out.

On my 4th try, I finally got it though.  Stayed far left, after killing everything on my side of the river, went up behind the dark force plants, flew R2 over the river, and floated down.  Also went VERY slow on the final chapter, getting eaten by fire the whole way.

Don't forget to stay under the Lego Stud limit until you're over the stream.  Each time I was over the limit at this point it froze.

My game froze twice coming out of the death star. that was so annoying, the first time the clock was at 59:11, so Damn Close!!  I had to play it three times, and it didn't freeze the third time.  It worked the third time, but I was so pissed already I just went to chromehounds.

This has happend to me 3 times @ the stream and twice @ the death star.. this is beyond stupid!

Hardware says its a Live problem, Live says its a hardware problem, and you bounce back and forth..

Well, I've been putting it off for all this time because I knew of the problems from reading this thread, but last night I tried Super Story VI... and it froze at the river.

It actually did this a while back when I did it on regular story, and the Death Star II freeze happened to me constantly while trying to get True Jedi on it, so I'm dreading going through it again, and again, and again on Super Story.

It's my last brick as well (as it is with many of us).

Well there's lots of great advice in here, so I'll persevere.....

Ok, I finally beat EP VI SS.  It froze 2 times on me. First time on the Carkoon level, 2nd time on the river crossing on Endor.

On the third try, i got all the way to Endor.  I turned off the music and left everything else default.  Got to the river, switched to R2, let everyone pass, then switched to Han. No freeze! Got through that level. 

Later on Death Star II, I turned off the vibration, music was still turned off.  Got all the way through it with no freeze.  This was the first time making it to the Death Star II stage.  I ended up beating Ep VI SS in 53 min 53 sec.

All I have to do now is beat Ep IV and V SS, get the rest of the multipliers and I'll have 100%.

Lego star wars wrote back, told me to download the update, and after I explained I'd cleared the cache, re downloaded the update and still nothing they told me the disk is bad and to take it back to the store I bought it at.. I pointed them to this thread and am again awaiting a reply.. I don't think they really want to admit they have a problem.  Congrats on the people who have 100%, I'm going to try again tonight with vibration and music and all the other junk off...

Froze once again crossing the river with R2D2, That makes it attempt #8 to try and complete super story .. this is such garbage, it ruins an otherwise wonderful game.

I'm on 98/99 and it's now frozen 3 times on me. Once in the last minute of the Death Star and twice crossing the river at Endor. I've followed the instructions on here but it still did it regardless. Severely p*ssed off and I'm not sure I've got the energy to try again.

Just completed the super story without a hitch.  For endor i didnt blow up the plants in front of the river.  I used C-
3PO to cross the river.  Kinda made sure as many were on the screen as i could.  For the chapter 6 i already had the rumble feature off (flying levels were annoying with it on.)  i beat it my first time through.
