  • Disconnections and shortened range
  • The infamous "humming/buzzing"

Waste of $60...I wish they could fix these issues with a patch or something.

Re: Post if your WIRELESS headset is not working

Weirdest thing just happened.

Was playing Rainbow 6 on Co-Op (brilliant by the way incase you are insane and havent bought it yet) and I decided to try my wireless headset.

Powered it on, started flashing, pressed the sync button on the headset and then on the console.

Quadrant 1 was lit, I then pulled my, its gonna change to quadrant 2 face, but it didnt, it worked.

To test it again I hit the sync button on the headset and then console again.

Q1 again.

Turned off my xbox, powered on with pad, waited till signed in, then turned on headset again, voila, Q1 yet again.

Cant say I have done anything else except I was using the wired headset just as I powered on the wireless then disconnected as it was detecting the xbox.

Give it a go with a different game.

See if you can get it working.

Might be worth try a private chat as well with wired then try and switch to wireless.

Will post back tomorrow if it does the same thing in the morning.

Re: Post if your WIRELESS headset is not working

Just got up and its still working properly.

The only thing I can think of why the headset doesnt go to Quadrant 1 is because your controller thinks its being used by a wired headset. Although if you had a private chat you would still only hear peoples voices through your tv.

For those of you who have read the manual you will know that you cannot simultaneously use the wired and wireless headset with your controller. Therefore it must be the pad that still thinks a wired controller is connected, and tells the wireless headset to move to another quadrant/controller.

Thats my theory anyway.

Just tested it right now with wired headset in. Wouldnt go to Q1. Unplugged wired and the wireless would go to Q1.

Give it a go.

Hope everyone else can get theirs sorted somehow.

I will obviously be back here if it all goes pete tong again.

I get frequently disconnected. Other users' voices will come through the TV for a period; then the headset will reconnect on its own. It gets annoying, but I don't want to return it. Hopefully its just a software bug that can be fixed through an update.

Re: Post if your WIRELESS headset is not working
you don't just hear private chat through the TV, least its never gone through it for me, as my settings are for chat to be in the headset.

someone earlier posted to turn on the console, then the earpiece, then the controller, it may help for the sync, but it sure as 'ell ain't helping for the other problems.
i still think for the sensitivity issue a simple thresh-hold function like PC Mics have in programs would be a fine fix, and i honestly would've thaught it common sense to have it for the XBox's, but apparently its not.
I mean, some people may have stronger voices, or more noise in the backgrounds of where they are, so just out of dumb logic having the sensitivity adjustable makes more sense than 2 volume controls (1 on the mic, 1 in the console... WHY would u need 2?!)

Constant, regular disconnections.

I'm on my third headset, all of them have had the same (or worse) problems. Relocating the wireless router had no effect.

People tell me to turn my mic off because of the feedback in game. Most of the time I switch back to my wired plantronics mic unless they have a bad attitude.Big Smile [:D]

someone explain to me why i just got off the phone with customer support and for them to "fix" my headset (which will most likely have the same issues as the one i have now) they need me to fax them a copy of my reciept to prove that i have bought it within the last 90 days...it hasnt even been out for a month!

Why are you worried about it? You don't have to click on every thread. Move on.

    - random, but frequent, disconnects from the console (voice comes through speakers for a second or two).
    - "infamous" buzzing/humming sound audible only to others on xbl.

my wireless arcade controller - i really love XBLA

    • Extreme feedback and sensitivity (from what I hear)
    • Syncing problems (after trying correctly)
    • The infamous "humming/buzzing"
Thanks, hope something gets done about this :/
