This is per ezkial rage and UScr00ge, and I just tested it -- just adding this topic for those visiting to try and get it fixed:You must stop any sharing between your Xbox and PC. So, on your Xbox:1) Go to the system blade2) Choose computers3) Choose the highlighted option (Windows-based PC or Windows Media Center)4) Disconnect the connection.Your online races should now be good!
This worked for me too as it was terrible before the 'fix'.
Thanks for posting this.

I realize this works.. but PLEASE STOP CALLING IT A FIX! Its not.. its a WORK-A-ROUND. This is a PITA problem considering everytime you disconnect your media pc from the XBox, you have to re-pair them back up and it creates a new security account each time on your Media PC.
Lets call it what it is.. A work-a-round for a stupid problem that shouldn't exist and MUST BE FIXED by the game maker/microsoft. Its stupid this can make it out with this kind of problem.

To: supportSubject: Re: Ridge Racer 6 won`t work on Xbox liveThank you for your prompt reply.Disconnecting from my PC does indeed cure the problem, but is a little inconvenient. Will there be a software patch issued to correct this issue in future?Thank youMatthew. To which they replied:Thank you for contacting Namco Hometek's Customer Support Department.Sorry, we have no information on a patch for Ridge Racer 6. Unfortunately console games can't be patched only PC titles. Please feel free to contact us again in the future as the need arises.Looks like we are stuffed then, add it to the list of known 360 bugs!

(iriver, creative etc)..
PRoPHeTiZeR wrote:uh, and ipod is an overpriced proprietary piece of garbage, yea, it works, but several others are cheaper and work better. it's the technological idiots out there making ipod #1, yea, i have an ipod, lol, but i got it for free, i would never go buy one for myself, i know all to well how it's lacking, and anything proprietary like that is just total garbage.

I bow before your obvious greatness. And while I'm down there, can I kiss your feet?

Woohoo! It works!
Honestly, I thought that Namco simply didn't know how to write net code. Thanks for proving me wrong. Once I disabled the connection to my PC the game ran smooth as butter online. Only tried a couple of races, but it was 8 players with a Japanese host, and none of the previous stutter. No perceptable lag either, I was impressed.
Now I have a reason to play Ridge Racer.
