Posted due to the...ah...frequently asked questions...about PSU and obtaining a Guardian's License. Please PM me with corrections.

0. How do I CANCEL my Guardian's License?
Call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and speak to Xbox customer service.
1. What is a "Guardian's License"?
It is your monthly online account for PSU.
2. How much is the Guardian's License?
$9.99/month, with the first 15 days free (the first billing period is 45 days long).
3. Do I need to have an Xbox Live Gold account to play PSU Online?
No. A Silver account will work fine.
4. If I do have an Xbox Live Gold account, do I still have to pay the PSU fee?
Yes. XBL fees pay for XBL infrastructure (servers, bandwidth, maintenance, etc.). PSU fees pay for PSU infrastructure.
5. Can I use MS Points to pay for the Guardian's License?
No. You must use a credit card, which will be billed each month.
6. Do I have to have a credit card to buy a Guardian's License?
Yes. See #4.
7. I don't have a credit card. Can I still buy a Guardian's License?
No. See #4 and #5.
8. I bought an 800-point MS Points card and entered the number on the back, but it won't let me buy a Guardian's License. What am I doing wrong?
You are not using a credit card. You must use a credit card. See #'s 4, 5, and 6.
9. What is the "Redeem Code" option on the payment screen for?
Not sure at this point. Probably to enter a code for the initial free month.
10. Why can't I use MS Points/Why must I use a credit card?
I (Boid, author of this FAQ) don't know for sure, but the simple answer seems to be: "Because Sega needs to automatically bill you each month, and the MS Points system is not set up for this." A secondary reason is likely to be: "Because PSU is cross-platform, and Sega does not want to maintain two separate billing systems. Everybody on all platforms uses a CC. Keeps it simple."
