That is just way too young man. I'm sorry for your loss. You and your family will definitely be in my prayers.

Very sorry,34 is very young.Sad that she couldn't make it any longer.

I'll be sure to add them to my prayers tonight.

My Sister came down to celebrate the 4th today and she was telling me about a childhood friend of ours that recently had a stroke. She then mentioned something she remembered our Dad saying to her, "When you're in your 20's all you do is go to weddings, and when you reach your 50's those weddings are replaced by funerals." It's a said truth to life, and I truly feel for you and yours. Peace be with all of you.

Honestly... why bother?

Okay Hi Guys for my 6 monthly stop over at xbox.com, I've got time today at home that i don't normally have. Xbox.com is banned from my work so it's only very rarely I get on the computer at home so i thought i would stop in and say hello again. Happy Independence Day to those that celebrate it and all that jazz. Cheers.

Yes, work and yard work are just great! Indifferent [:|] Hope you get to that grilling though. That's always fun. I love to grill, just don't get to do it that often.

Are you still trying Mass Affect or did you trade it in for something else?

Well, I finished cutting the lawn but couldn't get to the grilling...perhaps another day.  I traded 'Mass Effect' but didn't opt to get anything this time.  I put whatever little cash I got from the trade-in toward pre-orders.

wow... nobodys online!

We have a dilema here at home. I want the xbox upstairs in my room but i don't have a router or modem, just my wireless connection. So it has to stay downstairs where i can't hear the game without my mom telling me to turn it down.

Guess you couldn't get into Mass Effect. At least you'll be able to get something better in the future.I tried to trade in my copy but they were only going to give me $1.99 store credit so,i'd rather hold onto a game that I spent alot of money on instead of pretty much giving it away.

The Beatles Rock Band.. ahh me and my mom are looking forward to it. (mom loves The Beatles,i love the instruments) It's going to be pretty easy to FC now since The Beatles are no Dragonforce,GNR, or Judas Priest.

If you don't have a modem or a router how do you play online? Do you hook an Ethernet cable straight from the wall in to your 360 or something? Better yet, how can you have internet without a modem, is it dial-up?

You can get a good router for around $40.00 and a decent modem for around $40.00-$50.00. I know I know, it costs money. The eternal dilemma. Anyway, good luck with that dilemma.

Mass Effect - Best. Game. Ever!

The Beatles Rock Band - Worst. Band. Ever. Worst. Game. Ever.

Now on a more mature note did anyone see this GTTV episode featuring Dante's Inferno? And if so what do you think of the game so far?

If you mean when all the game testers come out, then I killed off the first three that are there.  Then I repositioned myself to focus on the middle, lower platform where they mostly respawn.  From there I kicked in the freeze perk and froze many of them the instant they spawned.  Eventually, they run out.  It wasn't a breeze and took some patience, for sure.

Then if the router is downstairs, why couldn't you have the Xbox upstairs?  I'm just trying to understand your set-up.

I think what he is saying is that he would need to run a CAT5 up to his room to have internet access there or get a wireless for his 360  in order to move it to his room.

Re: GamerParents 5.0 ~ One Thread to rule them all ~

Well I fell into a newly-discovered gaming pit last night that I had one heck of a time extracting myself out of.  That pit is called "GTA IV Free Mode".

Good Lord.  Why did it take me this long to discover that running an avatar around a fake city with guns, cars, cycles and helicopters was SO MUCH FUN??  There appeared to be no scoring, no goal or mission.  It was just free-for all destruction.  Some fun moments:

1.  Drag racing on the airport runway.  I decided to try my luck racing with a baggage buggy and shooting the people who pass me.

2.  Dragging chasing cops to the densest collection of players and then observing the carnage.

3.  Sniping other drivers at the airport until someone wised up and ran me over at my perch point.

4.  Chasing particular driving players with a helicopter.  Felt like the action news correspondent following a car chase.

More "games" like this please.

No problem. Most routers are capable of both wireless and direct hook-up (Usually they have that little hard plastic antenna on them when they are both), Which I'm sure you knew that already. So your problem is that you would have to buy a wireless adapter for your 360 then. $99.99 new. You could always try EBay, who knows you might get it a little cheaper. Anyway, it sounds to me like it's worth saving up for and it would be better to be in your room. So it's better in the long run. I know this is blasphemy, but maybe sacrificing a game or 2 that's on your wish list would be wise in this situation. You'll still get those games, eventually, plus you will not have to disturb the parents and have your gaming sessions cut short.
