Hi, I haven't got halo yet but I wanted to ask, can you mix armour e.g having a elite helmet and a normal armour suit? Also if you change your colour to yellow or something, do you go on a different team? And final question, can your team have a mix of elites and normal people?

Sorry for being a halo noob

(1) You can't mix Spartan and Elite armor permutations. The armor variations only belong to one character model.
(2) Your primary color is only used in FFA gametypes, any team game in Matchmaking you will be automatically put on either the red or blue team (unless it's Multi-Team, then there are two other teams). Your character won't be the color you chose such as yellow, it will be red or blue.
(3) Yep, teams can consist of both Spartans and Elites.

Is there some sort of achievement glitch?  My friend and I just finished the game on hardcore online and he received achievements for his progress throughout the game (chapters), but neither him nor I received the achievement for completing the game on hardcore (my friend didn't get it for completing the game on any difficulty level).

I was wondering the same thing. My friend and I just finished it last nite on legendary and we just got the easy rating. All the skulls appear that we got but not the lengendary rating.

It can happen if you miss a checkpoint. In one of the campaign on my way to Voi, I deliberately ran away from an attack from a Wraith tank and escaped. But later, I discovered I didn't get the achievement for that campaign.

Wow...so I guess it doesn't exactly remember where in the campaign we left off, even if it's at a checkpoint mid-chapter?  So now how do we go about getting the achievement?  Playing just that chapter or the whole campaign over again?  If it's the whole campaign, then I'm not doing it.

Well, it's a real bummer. And there's nothing we can do with that idiotic save system. Who ever first thought about using this stupid save game mumbo crypto should be fired on spot!

Now I'm playing the legendary mode and stuck at the same place. I manage to kill every one, and then come the second wave. I kill almost every *** just to get killed by the very last ***. Damn! I wish I could save after 2 or 3 hours of bloodshed...

 

This is not acceptable. We should be able to save what we want when we want.

Agreed.  I do find it odd that more complicated games (sorry, but it's true) like Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect, The Orange Box, BioShock Command and Conquer all allow the player to save at any time.

Hi just got halo today and I haven't had much chance to play but I was wondering how you change your armour? I'm in basic training so maybe that's why i can't. Also what does the L60 under my name mean? Thanks

OK, so I'm finally playing through H3. Decided I would go for the gold skulls as I play through. Found the first three with no problem. I follow the above description for the "Catch Skull", but no "Catch Skull". I start from the beginning of the level (playing normal right now), I don't die, I wipe out all enemies in that area including vehicles and tanks, I grenade jump (without dieing) to get up on top of described silo and no skull. Is there something else I need to do? Is this possibly a glitch? Please help if you know.

If you hit the start button when you are in the matchmaking lobby, and go over to the next menu, Settings, and choose Appearance,  you'll see a picture of your character with some options. The L60 can be changed in the top menu, Service Tag, and is your own unique blend of a letter and two numbers. People routinely put the first letter of their GT and then numbers (if any) that are in their tag... or you could be random as you feel like *shrugs*. This identifies you in the game, so get used to it as your fellow team players will routinely call out your tag for weapon locations, enemy locations, or generally just getting your attention. The next few options deal with armor and emblems... in the armor menu you can choose to be a spartan or elite, and any armor permutations you have. Emblem is again your own unique combination of the symbols they provide, and colors can be of your own choosing for armor and emblems. You can zoom out of the picture so you can see a full body shot of your character, as well as rotate so you can see any colors/armor choices (like the shoulder pieces...). And finally.. you can choose if your character is male or female. This doesn't affect the appearance in anyway, but instead will only affect the noises they make... like when they die.

After you save the vid clip, it gives you the option to rename it. After you are done, push Start (when you are in the lobby... doesn't matter which one) and in the first screen you'll see 'File Share'. Select that, and you should have 6 open slots (unless you have Bungie Pro which you have to purchase with MS points), numbered 1-6, that you can select and then replace with your screenshots, film clips, and map/game variants. There is also an option in that menu so that you can view your screenshots as well. Once you upload the film clip into your fileshare, it will be available in your fileshare, both on Bungie and your gamercard.

After a certain amount of time, a pinned thread will no longer be pinned at the top of the page and will fall back multiple pages like any other thread. The thread has to be re-pinned to get it back on top, so the other threads essentially died off.

in order for the skull to appear you dont have to kill any tank in this area, in other words as soon a you enter go straight to the silo and do a gren jump from the warthog, if you destroy any tank the skull will disapear.
and bogey, the other treaths didnt ¨die¨, they got deleted by the mods because they where spamed beyond repair

Thanks. Tried all that. For some reason it glitched. I played online with someone else that already had it, and it showed up, got the achievement.

First post! Bonjour mes copains! You can't "switch avatars" as such, but redo your current one with the Avatar editor. If you wish to change gender, just "start over" with a character of the opposite gender as a starting point. This will give you different clothes, looks, etc. And to join a game online, enter matchmaking, select what playlist you want and then hit "start matchmaking". If you don't have live, this is impossible.

When Matchmaking was updated a few months ago to the new ranking system, the achievement slightly changed. You now need a total of 70 EXP, and 50 EXP in one particular playlist to make you can officer in one playlist, and a Service Record rank of an officer.
