Will Bioware release a Mass Effect 2:Complete edition?

    • Level   2

I recently decided I'd buy the first and second Mass Effect's since I plan on buying the third one. I've got the first one and I could get the second one pretty cheap but I want to know if Bioware is releasing a complete edition with all the DLC for Mass Effect 2 like they did with Dragon Age:Origins? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Nothing has been announced as yet and to be honest I would not be holding my breath for it.

    -

The big selling point for the PS3 version was that it came with all the DLC, minus Arrival, so they'll want to keep sales up for that one for as long as possible. Perhaps we'll see a Complete Edition after Mass Effect 3 is on the shelves.

    -

Personally the only DLCs you need are Bring Down the Sky for Mass Effect 1. Avoid Pinnacle Station like it is a chav with a knife.

    -

For Mass Effect 2 the only needed ones would be Lair of the ShadowBroker and Arrival. Kasumi and Overlord are good but by no means essential.

    -

I have all the DLC except Genesis (a motion comic so people don't have to play through Mass Effect 1).

    -

Edit: Did you get Mass Effect 2 new? If so you get a decent selection of free content through the Cerberus Network.

Ah that's a shame. I got the game pre-owned so the code has probably already been used. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll just buy the bring down the sky, Lair of the Shadow Broker and Arrival DLC's then.

The Cerberus Network for Mass Effect 2 is 1200 points and it does have some decent stuff.

    -

You get the extra character of Zaeed, who is a great Soldier for when you are facing enemies with shields. The Normandy Crash Site is good but only really that interesting if you love the first game (which I do.) You also get the Firewalker Pack which introduces the Hammerhead hover-tank (which you get to use again in Overlord), many people prefer this to the Mako in Mass Effect 1 but to stay polite I will say I am not one of those people.

    -

There is also some free weapons and armour but they aren't exactly an upgrade from the standard items in the game.

    -

If you want to make Mass Effect 2 a lot easier in the combat then grab the FirePower Pack. The weapons in that are pretty much game breaking in their power.

Yeah Mako > Hammerhead by absolute miles. I do think Arrival was pretty rubbish though, but I see why your recommending it as it does lead up to ME3.

I'm really not a fan of Arrival either, as to me it embodies the worst of the changes made to Mass Effect 2. However it does directly feed into how Bioware are going to be starting Mass Effect 3, so it is on that my recommendation hinges.
