Master Chief is back, and in a big way.
At the 2011 Xbox Media Briefing, it was announed that two new Halo games are on the way.
First up, on November 15, 2011, is Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, a remastered version of the classic game that launched the original Halo trilogy, released in celebration of that game's 10th anniversary. Whether you never played the original, or it's a fondly remembered classic, you'll won't want to miss this re-mastered version with updated graphics that take full advantage of the Xbox 360. And while the original Halo preceded Xbox LIVE, Halo: Combat Evolved Annivesary takes full advantage of the service, with cooperative play, new challenges, and some of our favorite maps reimagined for Xbox LIVE.

And coming next year from Microsoft and 343 Industries is Halo 4. We saw a spectacular teaser trailer during the press conference, but not much is known yet about the game. Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe, and a new trilogy begins.

After seeing the teaser for Halo 4, 2012 can't come fast enough.
